10/23/11 - Disney Dream

Do you all iron your clothes before packing them? I just spent over an hour ironing my shorts and tshirts and I know they are going to be wrinkled again when I take them out. :confused3

You could always just send them to be pressed when you get on the ship. From what I've read, it is 1/2 the item cost for having them laundered.

They do have irons in the laundry rooms though.

I'm not ironing mine this time before we go. Don't have the time.

I don't. I send my dressy clothes to get pressed on day 1 and then bring downy wrinkle release for everything else.

But then again....I don't even iron at home.....

Can you put us down for a big MAYBE for the Fishlips meet. We get to MCO at 3:00 and are going to get our rental car and drive straight to the port. If we can make it before 5:00 we'll be there. Maybe wishful thinking

Will do! Our plane lands at 1:30 on Saturday so we are cutting it kinda close too. We want to check in and get settled before Fishlips.

Good and bad news!!

Supposed to rain in Nassau but Castaway Cay right now looks fine!!

Sail away is looking good weather wise also!!

Sherry

That kinda confirms my plans on our Nassau day though. We were just going to play it by ear since we have nothing planned yet.

Good morning folks

Only three more days of work:woohoo:

Checked the weather again still says the same all though the chance of thunderstorms in nassau is only 20% but we planned on staying on board anyways hope it doesn't rain that's our aqua duck day:yay:

Can't believe how close this cruise is getting. I will probably do most of my packing tomorrow. We leave Saturday am. I usually clean my house from top to bottom as my in-laws come in & out to check on the dog, but with me on crutches & in a boot, I will be doing the bare minimum that I can comfortably do..........having this injury sure has changed my perspective on what's important. LOL :rotfl:

It is very gloomy & rainy here today, but hoping for nice weather for our trip. I just really hope we get at least one pretty day on CC as we have yet to have that happen in 3 previous cruises. I am not sure yet how I am going to get in the water, but I am bound & determined that if we have a nice day, I am getting in the ocean to snorkel & lay on a float. If you see me doing strange things like walking to the edge of the water in my boot covered in a trash bag..........look away.:lmao::rolleyes1

Here are my ships pretty much in order

My favorite probable has been the Brilliance of the seas on Royal Caribbean great layout and awesome crew. Also love the old Norweign Norway last of the old cruise liners

We have never been on Brilliance, but did Radiance for alaska.. Maybe the most perfect class ship for Alaska with all the Glass walls.. And wow that is neat you were able to sail on the SS Norway aka SS France. It is nice that you can compare almost 50 years of cruising styles from the Norway to the More modern ships...

Briefly, geocaching is where someone will hide a "cache" or small box somewhere and post coordinates on where they hid it,,,,sometimes it's a puzzle to find them or tricky or very small. It's always an adventure tho...you put those coordinates into your GPS/iPhone/andriod phone and try to find it, you sign the log at the cache site, it will be in the box with "trade" items, usually trinkets for the kiddos. Then you can go online and talk about your adventure. This is similar to letterboxing in Europe, although they geocache there now as well, it's worldwide....over a million of them are active and more every day. I can't post a link, but you can find it on geocaching.com Sounds like a little bike ride...
Traditional Cache
"King Billys" Disney Cruise Castaway Cay Cache
GCRFBJ

there are some in Nassau as well, so if anyone is interested in an adventure let me know and we'll make the find as a team. :dance3:

Replied to PM.. Sounds fun... Bride is excited also in that I told here 1 million dollars in gold coins are buried there with it.. So please let her think that... Look she's married to me.. The poor girl needs something hopeful to cling to...

Hi DISboards friends,

I was hoping that someone on this cruise can help me out by picking up the new DCL Vinylmation that is on the Dream.

I don't need all of them, just the DCL Dream 3", the Castaway Cay 3", and the AquaDuck Donald 3". I was on the Dream a few weeks ago (DVC Cruise) before these three came out. I can email you pictures of them if you need.

The Disney Dream, Wonder and Magic are very special to us and we love to collect all things DCL. We are not looking to resell these items, they are for our own collection.

Please let us know by email or PM if you can do this for us or have any questions. I will be happy to pay in advance or after whichever is good for you.

Thank you in advance and I hope everyone has a relaxing and Magical cruise.

Still no magical express luggage tags and we leave Friday morning:scared1:
I've emailed my TA at least 5 times in the last 2 weeks..says she reordered them last week and no matter if they come or not we are confirmed on ME bus...that is all well and good but does this mean I have to handle ALL that luggage??? Grrrr and on top of that I have been fighting a cold! So ready for this vacation, only 2 more sleeps:yay::yay::yay:

We're heading for the airport in a few minutes! Can't wait to meet you all on Sunday! Safe travels to everyone :cool1:.

Well that will be super easy for me 4 K's and y'all are right down the hall from each other on the same day :)

We're celebrating 2 of my kiddos' birthdays with this cruise. They are Kalista (turned 11 on 10/4) and Ethan (turned 16 on 10/2). My other 2 had birthdays in February and we celebrated the same way. We don't expect any special treatment, the cruise is special enough. Just thought i would explain the mouse ear birthday magnets you may notice on our stateroom doors.

Happy birthday to all the October birthdays!:cake::cake::cake::cake:

I'm sad to report that we have canceled our cruise. My son's doctor thinks it's too risky for us to be on a cruise ship in case something happens at home. I hope everyone has a wonderful trip!!!
