10/23/11 - Disney Dream

I will do either or. I will go with the majority :).

We have 35 cabins.

How does the group feel about leaving it as is? Does anyone need/want us to split it in 2 groups?

I would assume it is easier for you to keep it as one large group? If that is the case, and no one objects, feel free to leave it as all 35 cabins. Look at it this way, we will know our way around the ship when we are done.

Then again, I may need to get a bigger suitcase...and a wagon to hand everything out :yay:

We found that the easiest way was to walk a loop around each deck and watch for FEs hanging and then compare the cabin number with the FE list. If they matched give a gift. If not, then decide how many spares we had and if we wish to give them one. I think it only took us an hour (we did it around 11pm) on the classic ships.

That allowed us to not miss a cabin due to an upgrade or change. Caught everyone that way. And yes, you do get to know the ship that way. :thumbsup2

finished my fish extender today...ready to start gifts for 35 cabins...:yay:

wait! I haven't really posted here since the start of the thread when I gave the names of the cruisers but I am still interested in the FE. Do I have to send someone stateroom info?

Has anyone heard anything yet about any Halloween themed activities on our cruise? I saw in a few other places how people are getting e-mails with details of Halloween costume contests and trick or treating and parades. But, one was sent to Dream Oct 30 cruisers. Pleass oh please let them do this on our cruise! I guess it's likely they won't since I didn't get any such e-mail. Has anyone here gotten anything like that? I had heard long ago that all shipsmdid something the last two weeks of October.

We’ll be celebrating Halloween on the Disney Dream™® this year with several themed events, including traditional trick-or-treating and a special costume parade for children on the October 30, 2011, sailing.

Though not required, we encourage Guests of all ages to bring along their costumes for these special events. There will even be a costume contest for our adult guests on one evening with prizes awarded based on the following categories:
· Funniest
· Best Group
· Most Spooky
· Most Original
· Most Disney

More information on themed nights, times and locations will be available onboard in the Personal Navigator that will be delivered to your stateroom.

All Guests are invited to wear costumes; however, we ask that you choose costumes which are not obstructive or offensive. To avoid any disappointment or delay in your boarding process, we ask that when considering costume options you refrain from bringing toys or props that resemble guns, knives or other related implements, as these items will not be allowed onboard.

That was posted elsewhere. Bummer if they do do it on our cruise. Looks like the Magic and Wonder both do Halloween events the last two weeks of October.

Is the fish extender lady going to send out a final list of names and cabin numbers for the FE?

Just posting to say that I'm okay with keeping it as one large group. I was preparing to make gifts for 30 staterooms, so adding 5 more won't be a problem at all :cool1:

FISH EXTENDER EXCHANGE UPDATE!!!

(Please check your info for accuracy!)

In case anyone would like an update on the list, we have 35 cabins signed up. Sounds like we will keep it as one big group unless I hear (read) otherwise.

Here is an ESTIMATE on the number breakdown. (I say estimate because I know I missed 1 or 2. I will doublecheck it later) There are 37 women, 27 men, 6 teens (4 M, 2 F), and 35 kids (14 M, 21 F). I counted the 12-year-olds as "teens" - thought they might prefer that.

MAjor bummer. I e-mailed the Disney cruiseline directly. The Halloween activities will only be offered on the Oct. 30 sailing, not on our cruise. No trick or treating or anything like that. :sad2:

Very weird since they did it on our cruise in 2009 :(.

I know, kinda sucks LOL - because I asked about the Halloween festivities specifically before booking, too. Now they say Halloween festivities will only be offered on the October 30 Dream sailing ... followed by a cheery - We look forward to sailing with you and Have a Magical day! Sigh. I'm disappointed because I've been sewing costumes, but we're going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party after the cruise, so I'll get over it (smile). Plus, the pirates night and being able to dress up makes it feel kinda Halloweeny.

You know, you do start to see some the little things that the shorter cruises do not have that are standard fair on the 7 day cruises..Desert night, Several palo brunch days, halloween Trick or treat...

An option and We have done this in the past, is who's ever rooms wants to do trick or treating.. Those rooms have a mini trick or treat. Whats a few more costumed characters in the halls... No one will notice..

And then who ever wants to hand out candy, make sure you bring a bag..

One year I did not bring enough and was forced to give out pizza slices and mickey bars at the end...

I still think that it is really strange that there will only be Halloween activities for one cruise...especially if you wanted to order Halloween stateroom merchandise you can. I hope things change although I will trick or treat for a Mickey bar!
