10/23/11 - Disney Dream

Hey Jeff! 8 Cruises now! WOW! Although, I'll probably have a lot more under my belt now that the Wonder is on the West Coast. I plan on doing an Alaska and a Mexican Riviera cruise over the next few years. Just looking for the right prices. (I'd have done that Kids Sail Free MR cruise but I had already booked that short cruise and had some others sailing with me and didn't want to back out)

Anyway, I've got to get my Reservation numbers to you so that we can be linked for this one. I just got myself linked with my brothers reservation the other day. I'm really looking forward to this cruise!

I almost came out to the west coast this March to do the Wonder to the Mexican Riviera. Had one of the secret verandah rooms. Decided against it and will use that ressie for the Fantasy.

As for the kids sail free, it was only for cruises through the one just before the one we were going to take. Although, after the offer was over, we found we could have taken DS out of school the first week of March for a few days (he has a day or two off then) and done it on the Kids for Free promotion. :headache:

We may do one of the Alaska ones, in the next couple of years, but we would be looking at August if we do (maybe first week of June).

But first we have this cruise and it will be great sailing with you and the family again. Our DS's will have a blast together. I'll work on the linking of the dining after the holidays.

We just booked this week! We are very excited, this is our second DC. First in 2006 on the Wonder. Very excited to take my two DD on this cruise next year!

:welcome:

Welcome aboard! This will be our third time on this itinerary. It's going to be our anniversary tradition, as long as we can keep doing it!

Where are you in Missouri? I went to Mizzou for grad school.

Joining your cruise thread. We're actually doing back to back cruises on the Dream and staying on after this one.

I'm Jeff. I will be traveling with my DW Suz and our DS who will be 11 when we sail. This will be our 8th cruise with Disney.

:welcome:

Welcom aboard! Be sure to PM me if you want to join the FE.

DH and I are planning to go on the WBTA in Sept as my birthday present. Not quite back-to-back, but we'll probably just unpack, do laundry, and repack!

Yeah, had I known about the KSF promo, I wouldn't have booked the two night. For just a few hundred dollars more I'd have gotten a 7 nt MR cruise. I'm looking forward to the Alaska one. We'll drive and that'll save a bit of money. And I'm guessing that once the shine is off the new itinerary the prices will come down a bit.

Yeah, it would have been a pretty good savings if we would have moved the cruise up 4 weeks. We would have had to pull DS out of school a few days, but then again, we would have just not done WDW last week (but I wanted to see the holiday decorations).

I'm thinking the pricing for Alaska will come down too once the novelty of it wears off. I'm surprised how inexpensive these Dream cruises were though in the first year. It was actually cheaper to do the back to back the week we're going than to do a full week on the Magic. Just hope the Fantasy is the same way when the dates release for 2012.

Thanks.

We have done the FE exchange on our other cruise and most likely will on this one, just have to talk to DW since she is the one who gets the gifts together. ;) DS loves playing too.

Friends of ours, that will be sailing on this cruise with us, did the WBTA this year. They loved all the sea days.

We did the Panama Canal back in August 2008 and that was a great cruise. Nothing like 15 nights on the Magic. Definitely want to sail the Canal again some day (even if it is not on DCL).

I was on the WBTA this past September!! I agree - I LOVE the sea days!!

I wanted to do the PC cruise so bad but it came too close to the WBTA to book both. I knew that I wouldn't be able to take that much time off so close to the transatlantic. Everything turned out for the best since I am changing jobs in January and wouldn't be able to make the PC now anyway.

They put that PC cruise at an awful time, 4 days after the Christmas break. I'm sure there won't be too many kids on the ship (just like the Sept '10 WBTA).

In 2008 it was perfect at the end of August. Lots of kids that cruise and a lot of them just goofing around. They made several announcements regarding it during that sailing.

I wanted to wish all my future fellow cruisers a wonderful holiday season. :santa:Only 10 more months to go!

We're in! We're friends of Cinderella&Dopey (who have posted in the thread) and Mickey and Goofy (who haven't), and we're going on our third cruise with them, after meeting for the first time in one of these threads.

This will (knock wood) be our first cruise with our new daughter, who should be about eight months old when we sail!

Welcome to the cruise and congrats on the upcoming birth of your daughter.

Thanks guys!! We're obviously very excited. :)

I made a mistake in my earlier post, though... the Dream cruise should actually be our second cruise with our daughter... we're (crazily, probably) planning on taking her on a DCL Alaska cruise when she's 3 months old, in late May/early June. I wanted to take advantage of my maternity leave to do a nice vacation without the threat of any work interruptions cropping up.

Just booked this trip, this will be our 4th cruise, 2nd disney, but 1st being less than a week. plan on spending the rest of the week at a condo on the beach.

It will be me 37--turning 38 onboard, DW, and DS--6

Happy New Years Everyone!!!!

YAY!! I was waiting for you to find the board PP! Can't wait for the Dream! :)

Happy New Year Everyone! Let the Countdown Begin!

Hey, you're down to only 20 days Steve. :cool1:

Kinda wish I did book the cruise to nowhere. Unfortunately we've already pulled DS out of school several days already this year.

Yep, everyone getting excited here now. With the Holidays over were now able to start thinking about it.

I understand about the school thing. Stu's in 4th grade now and there's a lot more work. I cringe when I think about next Oct. He'll be out for 8 school days! I'll have to really work with him to get all that work done.
