Does that imply we would be required to "act" like adults?!?! 'Cause, that could be a deal breaker for me!

The only requirement is to be over age 21, no one needs to act their age. If we acted our age we'd be laying in caskets.

anyone have an idea when the #gty catogorary room numbers will be released?

I know others commented below but we got our cabin assignment last week. No idea why - thought they would do it all at once.

still hoping for a potential upgrade switch as we get closer!

morning parleyers!!:wizard:

its friday and we know what that means....

COUNTDOWN CHIC day!!:flower3:popcorn::

not getting my hopes up for an upgrade since we booked with DVC points

Do they ever upgrade you if you use DVC points?

Any recommendations on shore excursions in St. Maarten? We don't want to do anything that involves long bus rides or shopping. Has anyone done the offroad bike trip or the hike?

My son who was 13 at the time and husband did the hike last year at St. Maarten and they loved it :goodvibes and they said it was wonderful. This year they are doing the bike ride for something different. If I can snag my sons camera from him :rotfl2: I can post some pictures from there hike. It was beautiful. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Happy Friday to all! Is everyone else in the US starting to feel like a bunch of burgers on a grill?- (flip me over, I'm done). These days of 100 degree temps are really starting to wear me down.:headache: I can't wait to be sailing!

How strong is the sun in October in the Caribbean? What SPF do you recommend? I want to get my sunscreen stocked now and don't want the souvenir of a sunburn, but would love a tan from the tropics.

Nancy is the sun protection expert around here but I'll take a shot.

I am fair skinned and my experience is that the sun is pretty strong down there in October. I would go for at least SPF 30 or higher. :beach: You have to keep an eye on the clock as well - it's easy to lose track of the time as you sit in a beach chair in the water and have people bring you drinks. You need to reapply as well. :thumbsup2

Just a word of warning - I found out from the very smart people on my last cruise that suntan lotion has an expiration date! (who knew?) And from what they tell me, it will give you a lower level of protection if it is expired. One person reported getting a fairly bad sunburn after using SPF 30, checked the bottle and found that it was expired. So it you buy an suntan lotion now, make sure the expiration date is past the end of this year.

Let's see..

Fact 3: I like to do adventure/mud/obstacle races. No not crazy, I promise!
Next one I am doing is Tough Mudder Wisconsin!!

See all the fun stuff you are learning about me?!? I promise to stop when I get to 10 posts

I bought a bottle of 85 spf for the cruise. I heard that with sunscreen you should also take the spf that is stated and half it to get the true spf that it is giving you.

Great picture!!

I have done both Warrior Dash and Tough Mudder. Both fun but Tough Mudder was def a more difficult race. A few differences:

- length of race. Warrior Dash is about 3 miles and TM is between 10-12 miles. With the longer one, a lot of people were walking by the end. Goal isn't time, it is to finish so complete at your own pace.
- difficulty of obstacles. TM had more (about 25) obstacles and they were more difficult - walls were higher to climb over (12 feet), much more water, items to carry (logs), live wires to run through (they have that instead of a mud pit at the end). With that said, both were lots of fun.
- Teamwork - During TM, everyone helped each other out - helping pulling people over walls, climbing the top of the half pipe etc. The assistance was not as needed during Warrior Dash so not a direct comparison but people go into TM not for a good time but to work together and accomplish the race.

I loved Tough Mudder. Definitely more of a challenge which made it that much more of an accomplishment.

I have also done a Super Spartan race and I am signed up for 2 more this year. One being another Tough Mudder if that tells you how much fun it was. I have pics of both races in albums on my Facebook page. You are welcome to friend me if you want to view (Melissa Santoni). And ask any questions - I'll pass along any info I can. Def sign up - lots of fun!! :)

My daughter and I would like to run in the CC 5K but I don't know how to sign up.

Could someone let me know please and Thank you.

I think I read somewhere that you don't sign up in advance but you meet where directed? Either my husband or I will do this while the other hangs out with the daughter.

still me but changed my avatar - folks at my gym just voted to nickname me Tink

Their Tink description:
"Sassy, feisty, and fun loving. Known for being braver than most. She is a fairy with attitude. She stands up for the people she cares most for. Fearless and always determined, tinkerbell has a spirited mind and though not showing it often, is a little softy."

Sweet in a strange kind of way.

What better place to show my Tink self than here - thus the avatar change :)

I believe it will be posted in the Navigator the night before we arrive in CC. Then you just meet where they tell you.

This is going to be fun! :yay:

Well, I'm certainly not an expert but I am a victim of melanoma.:scared1: According to my Oncologist and my Dermatologist, anything over a 50 is a marketing gimmic. Both doctors agreed on this fact. However, I use Neutrogena 55 for my face and a powder over it when I know I'll be out in the sun. Otherwise, I'm fine with a 45 spf but you'll see me sitting in the shade no matter what....yes, even on Castaway Cay. :cutie:

As for expiration dates on sunblock, I don't pay attention to them. I automatically toss mine after 1 year. :thumbsup2
