10-21-12 Dream!!!

If it's available at the 75 day mark, I'm planning to choose the 11:00-11:30 embarkation slot. We'll be staying at BCV the night before the cruise, and since there are 6 of us, it'll be cheaper to hire a limo than use Disney bus. Anyone think there's any reason to choose a later time slot? What time should I request pick-up from BCV if I want to arrive right at 11:30? I got a quote of $338 from Tiffany for a stretch limo. We'll be going back to wdw - to BWV -after the cruise. What time should i request pickup at the port? (We have early seating for dining, but plan to hit Cabanas instead of MR for last breakfast, then we're heading to Epcot for the day.) Has anyone here had any experience with Tiffany?

No experience with Tiffany sorry. I have either driven or used Disney transport

But I would suggest a pick up for 10 AM at BCV and for 8 AM at the port for the return. It takes about 75 to 90 minutes for the transit depending on traffic and weather.

On another note, good choice on the bookends as mentioned in your ticker. Are you planning to go to MNSSHP? I am trying to convince my parents we should go on the Thursday we return. And it will also be the International Food and Wine Festival. We are staying at OKW the night before and will drive and then staying 2 nights at AKV.

So excited to do planning, huh?

For Nassua excursion, dh & I are either thinking the animal & Nassua tour or the private beach with included lunch. (not sure of names)
For CC...serenity bay!
Sea day...massage package for me! Dh doesnt care for spas so unsure what he might get into, beside trouble ;)

on nassau day we're thinking of going on our own to check out the graycliffe hotel and then doing some window shopping in the straw market (or wherever the shopping is down there)..
then back onto the ship.. (we've already been to atlantis - my sister and mom stayed there during easter break a number of years ago and i went there with my family when we were on the wonder - so no need to see it again)...

CC day - Serenity bay

sea day - we'll try for the palo brunch, manicures for all 3 of us (if i can snag a time), and then whatever else grabs our fancy :)

Did a Sea Lion encounter in Nassau in April. It was a lot of fun.

Has anyone ever rented a private cabana at Castaway Cay? Despite the expense, they seem to sell out FAST! I wonder if they are worth it.

They are worth it I took a tour of them last January WHe. I did the dream was on the 2nd saliling but yeah they are worth it can hold up to 10 people.

Weve taken a limo there before, I like getting there early so we usually get either 830 or 9 o'clock pick up. But I'm driving since I'm driving to Florida for the wedding,

I'm doing mickeys not so scary it's tradition I do it every year. And also going to do universals Halloween horror night too. <3 that it's so much fun.

Thanks Lindsay. I have been looking at blogs on the net and it does seem quite nice. I may give it a go though it is a bit steep a price for just 3 of us.

I have used Tiffany's several time and was always very pleased with them. Florida Town Car is also quite reliable. However, I haven't used either company in 10+ years, so probably you should find some more recent opinions.

I love MNSSHP .. we generally go to it during September, when it's a lot quieter in the parks. Last year when we cruised, Food and Wine ended the day we left .. I'm looking forward to getting to indulge there both before and after the cruise. :)

CC:

Should I pre-order the floats, or just wait until we get there? Might also try the water trike and/or 4 seater paddle boat. Any thoughts? My 9 year old daughter would live to try the parasailing! She only weighs about 60 lbs. Would we be allowed to go tandem?

Tricia

I want dd (8yo) to parasail with me but she is REFUSING to even entertain the idea! :rotfl2: I keep playing Youtube videos of it trying to change her mind. Only 20 weeks to make my case...

I have never been a guest for MNSSHP but I loved to work it during the time that I was a Cast Member at MK. Since I have nearly paid off the cruise, I will probably go ahead and buy the tickets for the 25th. The nights closer to Halloween tend to sell out earlier so I don't want to miss out all together.

I did go ahead and book a table for dinner at Tony's Town Square for 5:10 PM since the event tickets allow you into the park from 4 PM. So plans are shaping up for a leisurely departure from Port Canaveral to head to AKV, enjoy the resort ammenities for the mid-day and then to MK for the dinner and party. Friday will be our Epcot Food and Wine.....especially since I see they will be open until 10 PM on Friday and Saturdays during October.

And I guess it depends on what time I schedule my flights whether I will have time on the Saturdays before and after for any park visits. Hmmmm.....need to start watching those fares closely.

I think we're going to skip mnsshp! If only it were available in the 20th! But, my kids will be 4, 7 & 9, and bedtime is usually before 8. I'm thinking that if we went on the 25th, the next day would be shot! We're planning no parks on the 20th, although we should be to our resort by 1. Easywdw.com has everything rated not recommended except AK, (unless I switch from BCV to AK Jambo - then we'll go to AK for a bit.) After the cruise, we're planning to go to Epcot as soon as we get in to WDW on the 25th. I'm guessing we'll be through the "back door" gates by 10:00 or so. We'll grab a FP for Soarin' , get in line for SoaT, and hit some of the easy attractions. This night has illuminations at 9, so we're hoping the kids will be awake enough to see it. (Although if we're doing all that, maybe we should try for mnsshp on the 25th?) Currently planning to stay at BWV for 3 nights, but I'm hoping that my wait list for BCVs comes through! Either way, itll be easy to get into and out of Epcot. Then rope drop at MK on the 26th, 8:00 breakfast at CP, pirates league for the kids at 11, back to resort around 2. Hoping for a quiet night. Maybe pizza from the boardwalk? Planning on EMH morning at HS on the 27th, then back to the pool by 12 for a relaxing afternoon. I currently have a 12:00 Fantasmic lunch booked at mama melrose, but I soon don't want to eat there! If I keep it, we'll go back for the 7:30 Fantasmic. Josh at Easywdw is guessing that a second Fantasmic will be added, so the alternate plan is cape may cafefor dinner around 6:15, then a boat ride to HS for the late show. I sure hope the weather cooperates! We get picked up by ME around 11 on the 28th.

Ahhhh....Tricia. I am liking you more and more. I love to plan things in the same manner that you do.:cool1::banana:

Something strange with the Park Hours listing on the WDW website. October and Novemebr have had many days disappear with their hours. I am wondering if they are rethinking the hours for the park based upon the number of rooms they have booked for those periods. Or it could simply be a glitch that has erased some of the hours. Hmmmmm :confused3

So it is possible? Even if they don't meet the weight requirement independently? I so want to do it with her (she gives me courage!), but it's a surprise trip, so I can't prep her!

Made a timing mistake in my previous post - Illuminations isn't scheduled until 10 on Thursday! (So that's a no-go.)

When we use private transportation we use Sir Randolph. They are very friendly, reliable, and I think are pretty reasonable.

we're going to the halloween party before the cruise..

we'll go in at 4 PM...
having an ADR sounds like a good idea.....hmmm....wonder if i can get one...

Lucky! So you're going on the 18th? How many days before the cruise do you have at Disney?

Where did you work in MK, Christopher? I was in the Emporium. I love MK on party nights. The atmosphere is so festive. :) Plus, the holiday music is fun for singing along.

I worked at MK from October 1998 until July 2003. From Oct '98 to June '00 I worked in Adventureland/Liberty Square Attractions. I was trained at the Riverboat, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Haunted Mansion. for Halloween Parties I loved working the Mansion and being able to be made u p in full makeup by the Cosmetology team. I also worked PAC (Parade and Audience Control) as well as worked at a candy station for a party or two. Back then there were not as many parties as there are now. I think there were about 12 and up to 15.

From June '00 I moved to City Hall and worked in Guest Relations. So I was a tour guide both at MK and as a VPI guide. I worked at City Hall and the Guest Relations Window and also as an MO-7 receptionist supporting the MK Duty Manager and the Senior Management of MK. So parties/events saw me doing all kinds of things on those nights too.

I still think my favorite thing was the headless horseman. I am not sure if they still do that. And of course te first time seeingt he fireworks around the perimeter of the park is so magical.

When were you at the Emporium? I picked up a few shifts there during busy times (got my Merchandise training when I helped open AK in spring of '98).
