10/2-8/11 Jamborini Meet was great! Now planning for Oct 2012!

Sharyn - your kiddos are adorble!!! :)

I looks like I'm just gonna have to do the culinary tour on the 3rd - ALL of you are doing it and I don't wanna miss it!!!!! LOL

Seriously though, I will try hard to make it!!!

As for the shirts - I must be the only "fatty" in the group, I usually like to wear an XL - I could probably get away with the XL from the site, but, if it runs small I won't like it.............. I guess I better just make my shirts.

Wendy - I am XL also. I think will not wear or wash prior to the meet. Ha-ha.

:goodvibes Kristin & Ashley have been added! It will be nice to see Kristin again and meet Ashley! :)

Is Kathrin planning to come for Food & Wine this year?

They will be happy, I hope!

No, Kathrin is not joining us this year. Instead, to celebrate her birthday month, she and her guy have a trip to Czechoslovakia planned! :goodvibes

No commitment on the girls' part. If it fits in with their plans, great! ;)

Oh, WOW!! Well, I'm sorry we will miss Kathrin this year, but Czechoslovakia sounds like a wonderful trip! :thumbsup2

For the record... I am also a fluffy woman and will need a plus-sized shirt of they are running a bit small. Hopefully I will find one on there!

Add me to this list. I could probably wear a L if it was a true L, but buy everything XL cause it is more comfortable. Maybe I'll just buy the guys t-shirt since they seem to be a bit bigger.

Laura - please count me in for the culinary tour as well!

That is what I am going to do, I believe. Me in a tight shirt would not be fun to see or wear!

Me too, I will order the guys cut.

:thumbsup2 You have been added for the Culinary tour! :woohoo:

I agree with y'all on the shirts -- much better to have them too large than what I fear my shirt will fit like after its first washing!!

Try stretching the shirt out. I had a friend that bought a L ladies at a concert last week since that was all they had and she thought it would never last more then one wearing. Somehow she stretched it before wearing it and now it fits perfect.

I just ordered my t-shirt from Vista, although I did the slooooow shipping, so I'll let everyone know how it is once it arrives.

Good idea - only then it might be a little.........

see-through!!

The fabric is very light-weight! :rotfl:

Thank y'all! Posting pics was a major technological feat for me!
Y'all are so funny with the shirt size stuff - but I must agree - when ordering T shirts they always seems like REALLY small to me... I always wondered why???

Can I ask a random question? Do you think I could order a Jamborini button to wear?
Good idea? bad idea? y'all tell me...

Why would that be a bad idea? :confused3

Do what you want. It is all in fun and so we can find each other, right?

Hi Everyone!

I'm one of the folks running the AKLV Grand Villa Meet to benefit Give Kids the World. I hope you'll consider coming to the meet for a great cause. I know this is a ticketed event with admission, but all of the proceeds help benefit the DIS's Power of 10 - Give Kids the World challenge.

I hope you'll consider coming. :)

One more quick question - thought I'd ask on this smaller thread - I know many of y'all are true AKL experts!

Ok - so DD and I are at AKL - standard view. Its just us - so I don't want a "ground floor" room - for security reasons. We also want to take the busses (normally I like driving too - but with just 1 adult the busses will be a lot easier on me!) Where should I request a room? thanks so much!

Sharyn: I'd request "4th floor, Giraffe Trail" - which would be the most convenient for your needs. You'd be near the bus stop, the lobby and the elevators to the pool and restaurants. Again, JMO - and I've actually never stayed in a "standard view" (even though I've booked them in the past - always got an upgrade to pool or Savanna! ;))

Otherwise, you might be happy on Ostrich Trail or Zebra Trail -- Kudu would probably be the most inconvenient for you and Abby.

There is a lot of frustration over the lack of info Disney has provided regarding the deminars -- booking for TIW, AP & DVC discounts starts tomorrow yet there is no list available. We know the times, but it would be nice to know which chef, etc. is featured. :confused3

Brandi was able to get a little bit of information from a CM about the Mixology Seminars. Those are held daily at 6pm. Here's the information she was given:

October 2nd is a pear/Mango Mijoto
October 6th is Cucumber Daiquiri and Blood Orange Margarita

The cost is $10 (with TIW, AP or DVC early-booking discount) and booking opens tomorrow (Aug 12th) at 9:00am EDT: 407-WDW-FEST.

I think these 2 sound interesting. If any others in our group decide to book either of these, it could be another Meet! :thumbsup2
