If anyone is anti-FB, let me know your info & I'll add you to the FB group. If someone here knows how to make a document online that's protected but not a part of either DIS or FB and wants to set it up, that'd be great. Hoping we can run this as a democracy now instead of a dictatorship!!

I have no idea why you keep on saying that the last list was a dictatorship - someone gave up their time to edit the document as that was the only thing in place at the time and you make insulting comments like this - you have said the same on FB too.

We still have a year to go before we cruise - no decision has been made regarding whether the group is split if this is what the real issue is. 1000 people could ask to go on the FE list before then, there is no point in splitting the list until there are some ideas of figures and who wants what.

This isn't what I want to waste my time on. So if the FE thing will be fun, we're in. If I'm gonna get attacked for calling a spade a spade, then we'll skip it. Who needs this stress?!

The document is able to be edited by anyone so please use this to add your details. If you think there are any columns missing, please let us know here and it can be edited accordingly.

We will have a look at the list in 6-8 months time and discuss further any split of the group, this will be really easy to do by moving the rows around into 'groups' on that page - if someone want to do all cabins then they can do this. Over on the FB page it has been discussed that any split would be couples/adults group and a families group. We would love to hear your thoughts on this idea but my kids love making and giving presents to other kids so this was my view on the split. If those lists are too big you could then do a deck split as well.

Less than 11 months to go now.

My wife and I don't like the idea of alluring the group up by way of couple and family's. We are a couple not cruising with our kids. We like doing things for everyone kids included. Like I said on Facebook my wife who is very organized has a printed out copy of the old Fe list. So whoever is going to run it I can send it to them or post it here. I could even do both.

Koquinn I understand where you are coming from. Everybody needs to just calm down. We still have just under 11months before our cruise. Lots can happen between now and then. Let's not loose sight of the fact that we are all going on this trip to have a great vacation. Everybody is welcome to join the fe. Later on closer to the cruise we will decide how to split things up. Let's just enjoy these next few months getting to know one another on here and Facebook. Talk to all of you real soon. Oh ya I sure hope everyone had a great thanksgiving.

Hi and welcome aboard. We look forward to meeting you. The theme night is the same. It will be pirate night again. It is the same on all the ships. We also have a Facebook page if you would like to join it. There is a link to the Facebook page a little further back in this thread. There is some stuff going on with the Fe. It will all ne straightened out shortly and we will have a new organizer of the Fe group soon. The Facebook page when you go there you have to request to join. I would buy any of the cruise boks that are available. Frommer, Birnbaums, or Passporters all come to mind.
Some of the other things tha dont ususally show up in the books are things like the wine tastings, brunches etc.
Follow along on both FB and here and ask any question that you may have. Once we get closer things will start to get finalized like, who is staying where, when who is getting here, what rest if any that we as a group or small indivual groups may go to. The 2 more popular options right now are those of us stayin near the port the night before, and heading over to Grills for dinner, or those staying at or near WDW the night before.

You got that right truck1 there is still a lot of her we need to see. I am sure that maybe after 4 or 5 cruises on her we will have seen most of her.

You can put this info on the Keep & Share list, there is a column for that, whether you are happy to do the split.

Over on FB others said they were happy to split Scotty so this is why it was mentioned - just say no to the split.

I do not want to be the main organiser, I think the list can run itself but it seems that over on FB someone else has started another list that you can edit on FB and someone again is in charge of putting peoples details on - not everyone has Facebook though, it needs to be something that can be accessed by all and where you can add your own details.

There seems to be a huge lack of communication all round to be honest - a list on here, a list on Facebook - sure talk about it on Facebook but not have lists running on there as not everyone uses it.

This is the first time I have particiapted in anything like this, it should be easy, one document that everyone can access and add their information then nearer the time the groups get broken down IF they need to be. As I said, we might well get 10 people who only want 10 cabins and they can all go together leaving one other main group.

There are 11 months before we leave - anything could happen in this time and people on the list might up having to cancel or change dates, it really is daft that everyone is arguing about it as far as I can see. I don;t even think it needs an organiser short of someone breaking the list down with 75 days to go when everyone has paid and confirmed!!

The DIS seems to be the place where all contacts begin for this cruise...so why can't we manage joining the FE from here and let those who feel the need for FB type chit/chat to be placed on FB I guess, but instead of having to redirect everyone to FB like you and others have been doing, let's find one meeting place for all things Disney and the DIS is it? Let's just keep it simple. We are in agreement with you!!!! Let us know how to proceed and we will just follow your lead!

I am with you to be honest. I'll be happy with any number of people as long as I can get them in one case, LOL, but I am not liking the vibe on FB anymore over this which is a real shame.

In regards to splitting, SOME people do want to split because they do not have time/money to do 100's of gifts. I get that completely, so it does make sense to have some idea of just who wants to split and how many gifts they want to do. If we have 10 cabins who want a 10 cabin limit it makes sense that they can all go together - if you want to give FE gifts to everyone then you would be free to do so as the list will be open to everyone to see but it would help with the organising in that respect.

I spoke to Cari this morning on FB and she said to leave the K&S list running and we can deal with it later. Not everyone posts on the boards, not everyone is on FB so it makes sense there is a open list for everyone. Again, I would like to reiterate - I am not in charge, anyone can access, anyone can edit, anyone can change it - I don't want to be an organiser but it was my email address I used to set up the document and if someone else wants to be added, say and I can add them and/or remove mine. There is no moderator, it's just a list that you can access and add your details too. I just wanted to add that in case I sounded too bossy - I do not want to come across this way at all.

Very good points all of the way around. There is a need for FB and the DIS, agreed, as well as managing various interest levels for the FE. I am hopeful that we err on the side of 'inclusive' as opposed to the other. Hopefully this will present a more positive tone towards those already engaged and those new to the group. Hey DISers

Anyone else traveling with an "one or younger" on this cruise?

We hope to utilize "it's a small world nursery" several times on the trip and were curious who else we might run into.

We will have our 5 1/2 month old with us. We are due in May and I'm glad we aren't the only family traveling with an under one. My in-laws probably think we are crazy. I don't know how much we will use the nursery, right now my parents are booked on this cruise though that could and probably will change (their reservations not ours).

Our DS was 6mo when we went in Jan, and it was great. Disney is so kid-friendly that it's really easy to bring little ones. Just bring a SMALL stroller - I saw people leaving giant double ones in the hallway cuz they couldn't fit them through the door!!

I'm confused with all the FE lists. I am willing to take over the lists, combine, and repost to DIS and FB. If it helps I am a librarian who is on FB and DIS daily. I am thinking the PIF date can be the cutoff date for deciding whether to split the list or not. And then we can have a second cutoff date for those who book after the PIF date. If we split the list then those who book after the PIF date but before the second cutoff will get split between the two FE lists.

Wendy, I think the main issue that was bought up was that people were complaining that someone was in charge of the list, thus 'making the rules'. If you are 'in charge' I think it would leave you open to being the one who gets the earache if things are not going the way people want it. And let's be honest, this is inevitable really. I was happy with the way it was going the first time around tbh. Why people are talking about splitting when there are barely 15 cabins, I have no idea.

Maybe the way to do this is by having one list on FB and one open document - this way people will get to choose, for themselves, the group they want to be in (maybe from the friends they have on the list) and if someone wants to put their name on both lists then they can and then they are not in the split and can do a gift for everyone.

Then everyone is happy. Maybe.

For the record, I did not and have not deleted/erased the old FE list. I simply removed the URLs from my posts here and on FB. If anyone still has the URL bookmarked or simply looks at the quotes in other folks DIS posts, one can find my managed list. The URL is still active and the list has not changed since my last update.

Stepping up on my suitcase: The current FE experience seems to be going the way of Xmas - too commercial with everyone trying to get everything and everybody happy and getting too stressed and creating rules for the sake of sanity. Over the years, it has grown from as a simple 20 cabins (maybe bigger on the special cruises) to now regularly over 50-80 cabins on normal cruises. (I wish I could find that post again), the original thought (which seems to have been forgotten) was not to give gifts, but a little pixie magic -with no expectation of a return gift- and only to a few friends, not everyone. No one gives everyone they know a xmas gift just because they are on the family tree or in the same phonebook (that would be insane), they select/choose the few people they will give a personal gift to because those are the people they know personally.

I for one will not be participating in a formal FE list, while I will still be hanging our FE because I like being able to see my cabin from halfway down the hall (just like my custom mailbox on my street). If we do any FEing it will be with a select group of family and friends that I have met and will get to know over the next 11 mos. not because they were put on a list (and maybe in random group) with 50+ other random people I do not know and who may never know because they will not be on FB only DIS or vice versa.

Hi BleeS we for one don't like all of this drama about the Fe. I will go with whatever the group wants. I like to keep untouched both here and on Facebook myself. The only reason why I mention Facebook in my greetings is to let people know that we have a page. I am sorry if you or others think I am trying to redirect you. This whole Fe thing is just getting out of hand. Everybody just needs to calm down. The Fe is supposed to be fun and right now this doesn't seem very fun. So that being said. Can't we all just get along. Lol like I have been saying in all of my greetings we look forward to meeting you.
