Our 4-night cruise on the stunningly beautiful Disney Wonder, 10/19/03 was simply WONDER-ful! Walking up the ramp onto the ship and into the Atrium was unbelievable...a magical dream come true for me. I was so impressed, it cured me of my fear of water & sailing<bg>. I just couldn't get enough admiring this elegant vessel, taking picture after picture of the beautiful color scheme, design, and majestic size of this ship...and with lifeboats the color of Mickey's shoes! Haven't seen what the Disney Magic looks like yet, but this was an incomparable experience...this was my first cruise and it was beyond my expectations. I looked at other ships, and they just didn't compare with Disney's. Unless I want to cruise somewhere that their ships don't go, I won't be cruising any other ship but Disney. I had the best sleep at sea...also so tired at the end of the day from all the activities, we just fell into bed! Had much sleep to catch up on when we got back home. Except for needing a Bonnine pill when crossing the Florida straits, couldn't ask for anything better.
Our staterooms with verandahs were very well appointed and spacious. Our host kept it spotlessly clean...really enjoyed the twice/day service & nightly turn downs w/towel sculptures and chocolates! The Disney crew is tops when it comes to hospitality, and making you feel welcome and important as their "guests". Disney is expensive, but it's worth every penny...you get what you pay for.
We had the best servers, hands down! They were just fantastic, and outstanding!. Our head server was NICK TURAC from Croatia, and assistant server was ZORAN GAJANOVIC from Bosnia. They went far over and beyond our expectations, working hard to make sure we were have a great dining experience. I never had so much fun and delight over the course of our 4 night cruise! When we arrived for dinner, they would give us such lively greetings and interactions, antics, and fine dining as well. All our meals were excellent! We had so much fun, many picture takin, and antics with our servers at Animators Palate, Parrot Cay, and Castaway Cay. Our tables were like the center of attention and activity with the most hilarious jokes, outbursts of laughter, dancing, beating of pots & pans (like Hollywood & Vine character buffet @MGM). Nightly meals and breakfasts with our servers were just sheer fun, fun, fun, and fine dining too, in Disney style. Nick and Zoran are exceptional at their jobs...they are the best! This team sure seems to love their jobs, happy working for Disney, and enjoy themselves and their guests in the meantime. They well deserve the extra tips we left them. and even more! Our dining manager, Arturo, was also gracious, warm and friendly. He kept checking with us to make sure everything was going fine, and that we were having a good time. We were delighted with the limbo entertainment, dancing with the parade of servers, chef, etc, and their presentations. At Tritons and Palos we missed all the fan fare and were more subdued...however, the servers there were also wonderful, gracious, tentative and warm in the Disney tradition. The entire staff seems to work so hard at making the cruise a most wonderful vacation for each of their guests. We also celebrated my daughter's birthday...with birthday singing and cake too.
Disney has first class Broadway quality shows, high energy performances, and overall great entertainment. Don't miss Disney Dreams or Golden Mickeys. Seems like we were on the go every minute...shopping at the ports, deck parties, back and forth dressing up for dinners, catching all the gorgeous early morning sunrises and sunsets, trying to keep up with some of the activities listed in our Navigators, etc.; we still missed a lot of shows, movies and activities we wanted to go to, meeting the captain, games, etc. Disney cruises are the best! We had a WONDER-ful time on the Disney WONDER...it's something I'll remember the rest of my life! We can hardly wait to book our next 4-night cruise...or perhaps a longer 7-night on the Magic!
