10/15/2011 - Taking the West by Magic!

Ivet: Double check the dates for MNSSHP. I don't think there is one for Oct 14. :confused3 Okay, for some reason i thought there was They don't have too many Friday nights booked for MNSSHP.

I have booked a flight in a day earlier than I planned - flight difference was $140 - the price of a hotel room and an extra day at Disney!: cheer2: WooooHoooo

We did the ruins at Tulum and enjoyed our day there. Which ruins are you going to? Mayan Ruins
I thought I could book Palo today but Disney wants me to pay in full first :lmao: I guess that makes sense :sad1: Yes you must be paid in full to be able to make reservations

I have to figure out how to add 'stuff' to my page - like the puzzle and countdown, etc.

Okay so to put the image in your siggie you will need to go to your personal page and on the left side under settings and options choose edit signatures ... go to the image you want to select

and click on it...to the right of that pict you will need to select the IMG thumb to copy all the info and then paste it to your signature...click on the preview post to make sure it worked then save...HTH

Wow, you guys have been busy! I was out of town this weekend at a high school friends "girls only" weekend so haven't been online.

Here's a couple of answers for everyone:

1. The lead time on the wristbands is like 8 days, call it 2 weeks, so we'll need to decide by the end of September, plenty of time.

2. I did my check-in this weekend, and got 11:00 to 11:30 port arrival time, but haven't paid in full so didn't look at Palo yet LySand, we're probably not going to be PIF until 8/1 when it's due, so if you've got something, feel free to book it! :woohoo:

3. I'm not going to use the cruise logo in FE gifts right now, but I reserve the right to change my mind, but that sure doesn't prevent anyone else from doing it, because Jordak rocks as a DISigner and ivet did all the work asking for them :worship:

We're not doing any excursions through Disney, they won't let Jillian scuba so we're going to book through local dive shops so I'm not worried about that, but am totally open to linking reservations for dining if anyone wants to!

Oh, and the FE list (just who's participating) is at the bottom of the roll call, but, once we're closed (end of this month?) then we can update with a full count and I'll PM everyone the info.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled cruise planning! :cool2:

I read on another DIS cruise thread that the private room at Palo can be reserved ahead of time, but it requires 12-14 confirmed guests.

Who is interested??

In other news, how do we pay for the wristbands?

BOOOOO! that is no fun. Just to let you know there was little left on palo dinner, they had some times on sat night...1 time on sunday and another on thursday. We did tuesday...however they had a lot of times/days for brunch open. We were party of 3 that i am sure uses a party of 4 table.

Good luck!

Anyone book or plan there excursions yet? We are limited with things to do with a 18 month old.We are doing non-Disney trolley on key west and 7 mile beach on the caymens (was going to do turtle farm but trip advisor didn't have good reviews) thing of doing either...disney ruins and discover mexico or non-Disney nocchi-cocom or Chankanna????

Any thoughts?
pirate:

I'll have to inform DF on that. He was the one really looking forward to the dinner. I, on the other hand, was anticipating the brunch, so I still have a chance there. :rotfl:

I wish I had ideas on excursions, but unfortunately DF and I can't even decide what/if we want to do anything. :confused3 I thought about doing the 7 mile beach on the caymens, as well, but DF is still griping about the beach, so we might not do it.

I know I'm interested, so with me we have 3! LySand has also said she's interested, so that'd be 4, amazing, ivet, that would make 8 so 2 more couples or some singles and couples...

As for wristbands, I'm willing to place the order and bring them with me, we can set up a DISmeet on the first day and I'll have them then and you can just give me the $2.35 per? Or if someone else is willing to be the coordinator?

We didn't do any Disney excursions on either of our previous Westerns, so not knowing isn't that big of a deal. I wouldn't recommend the glass bottom boat on Key West, we had some incredibly sea sick people on that trip, we booked it on our own. We have done the main street walk, the southern most point, butterfly museum etc. which was fun, Key West has a lot of character which is fun to enjoy.

Castaway Cay is a great beach day, especially on the adult beach since you guys have no kiddos, if you and hubby aren't squidgy about massages they have couples massages on the beach in cabanas, which would be really romantic!

Cozumel has some great ruins to go see, and we only hit Grand Caymen once, which was when we did snorkeling at Stingray City without the kids, and we'll be doing it again this time with Jillian and I, again, we just booked it ourselves, really cheap and the timeframe gave us several hours to get back to the ship, we walked it so didn't worry about taxis or traffic and it wasn't too bad.

Planning is so much fun!!!!!

Yup yup yup count the 2 of us - :cool1: DH and I are in for brunch. We have ressies for Monday at 11:00. I am wondering how many of us need to be on the same day??

I just checked and there are still times left for Sunday 10:00, 10:30 and 11:00; for Monday at 11:00 and 11:30 and for Thursday at 11:00. Which IMO says alot, last time there was NOTHING left after the first few hours :scared1: They should also have a few more spots left to open up for the 75 days reservations. :cheer2:

I am in for the bracelets- so we are 4. (do they have child sizes as Sienna is tiny) I would also be in for the lanyards...

Colorado-are you using logo as a FE gift??????

Getting excited!!!!!!:woohoo:

Use the LOGO's anyway you wish even the one with the mickey head and treasure chest. I was hoping to use that as an FE gift but ya know the more the MERRIER!!!! :grouphug:

I'm in for group dinner at Palo. and my friend Heather. so that's an extra one there.

I probably won't be paying before the due date so I can't do any booking for a few more weeks. (Aug 1)

I also talked my friend into coming with me on the cruise. We celebrated her 50th last year on Carnival. I am looking forward to showing her what cruising is really all about!

It looks like you c&p'd the HTML--you probably wanted to use the IMG Thumb code.

Are there any nights that we should steer clear of (pun intended)? Since this is my first cruise, I don't want to miss the show in Animator's Palate, or the Prince & Princess, or the Captain's Gala, or the Pirate Dinner...LOL what's left?

Consider your seats reserved. Just be sure to stand clear of the doors. For the comfort of others no smoking, please. Thank you!

We got to do this once with my kiddos, it's pretty cool, he let Ryan push the button to open the doors :3dglasses

Ryan also got to drive the Jungle Cruise boat, well, he got to spin the wheel so we bounced off the rail anyway! :lmao:

Ok

yes, i will have to try that again! I was a bit surprised when it came up but i wasn't sure what to use.

maybe we (you) could try for the first night late seating. That way if some have early dinner seating they can still go and meet their table mates and then go to palo - just a thought. Or we might have to just go with whatever is available:cool1: Imagine having a choice!:rotfl:

My Fodor's says that Stingray City is one of the top 5 experiences in the Caribbean, one of the reasons why we are taking a snorkeling excursion there while at GC. We decided to take a private charter in hopes that it would be less crowded, although we may be fooling ourselves! Even the Google satellite view shows a dozen or more boats there (you may have to scroll up and to the left to see Stingray City).

Oh yeah, Stingray City is a zoo, but really cool. Jillian and I are doing that, I need to book it, we did Stingray Ray's last time and will probably book through them again, we just walked to and from the port.

I am happy to hear that you are also not booking through Disney--I am bit paranoid that the charter won't get us back in time and the ship will leave us behind. I shouldn't be worrying about that, should I?:scared:

My MIL has been there and told us that the stringrays were huge - as big as flying saucers :scared1: Which made me cry because I was laughing so hard :lmao: how in the heck does she know how big flying saucers are :lmao:
