10/15/2011 - Taking the West by Magic!

What is everyone doing to celebrate the 100 mark day? We are actually marking the 99 day, double-digit mark; we're going out to eat at the 99 restaurant.

Since this will be our 5th cruise, we're not going to do anything special to celebrate, hmm, maybe I'll get started working on the FE gifts! :rotfl:

I'm not sure. The day actually falls on one of DF's off-days at work, so I'm sure we'll do something fun. Maybe we will finally decide if we are going to do excursions or not. :rotfl:

Home from the lake now, we left a day early because it gets super crowded on holiday weekends and it was HOT HOT HOT!!!!!!!!:scared1:

We got home, and guess what, it's hot here too! :rotfl: But, as everyone says, at least it's a dry heat, and it's not 80% humidity! Have a great 4th everyone! pixiedust:

Did you guys have fun at the lake? I understand about the crowds. I live in a huge tourist area, and this past Sunday, it took DF and I almost 2 hours to drive what's normally a 45 minute distance. :scared1:

I've never lived in a place with dry heat before, but right about now I wish I did. It's so humid here in FL!

Hope everyone enjoys their week!

:lmao: when you said skiing I thought SNOW :scared1: not water OOOPS I was thinking Colorado and snow. Hope you had fun!!

:lmao: No, I meant water! They did ski on July 4th at Arapahoe Basin, but I'm not much into skiing inside a snow cone which is what the snow would be like, and July is for summer activities, not winter! :rotfl:

We had a good 4th, quiet in our house since we did the friends BBQ on the 3rd, and thankfully it looks like the fireworks are done for the year, it's a good thing my dogs don't freak out at the noise, hopefully everyone's fur babies came through it all OK!

We did have a great time at the lake, did some water sports, got to relax and sleep in which is always a much welcomed situation and the drive home (I got to fly out) was easy except for one storm in Colorado that had some pretty high winds.

Jillian did her scuba certification dives and did great (not as cool as mine that I did in Hawaii, but better than the freezing cold Blue Hole in NM!) so we're all set to go scuba diving on our cruise, just need to figure out what dive shop to go through and DH is going to go to the shop here tomorrow and hopefully get some references!

Now, on to cruise planning!:woohoo:

My first open water certification dive was with five foot visibility in a Florida pond they called "Alligator Pond". Yikes!

We've been practicing snorkeling in the pool so we'll be ready for the cruise. I have put on a lot of weight since those days, I think I may need to buy a weight belt so I can get to the bottom easier. Or do the snorkeling operators have them available?

Sounds like a great 4th and a nice trip to the lake. Sleeping and relaxing is always a nice treat. :thumbsup2

And great news that Jillian received her scuba certification! Now you both can look forward to diving during the cruise. :woohoo:

If you mean scuba, yes, they'll weight you down so you can get to the bottom, snorkeling, you don't really want to sink, since you're doing it at the top of the water, but I know what you mean, when I'm snorkeling and I try to do a surface dive to just go down a bit to see something or take a picture, it's like I just pushed a cork underwater as fast as I rise back up to the top!

Thanks! I was a little concerned because she didn't seem that excited to do it, but she did fantastic :woohoo:

I've made a commitment that I'm going to start working on the FE gifts this weekend so I'm excited about it! :yay:

When's the closing date to add into the fe. Looks like it will be small so we will probably join but will wait and see.
I'm excited as I can book palo & our excursions for the first cruise on Sunday I hope we get what We want:banana:

We talked the end of July earlier, so there's about 3 weeks left to decide. You're right, it's going to be small, I kind of like that! :lovestruc

Our last one topped out at 15 staterooms, and then we added on a couple of little girls at the last minute as optionals, just gifts for the girls basically. I agree, the smaller ones are great, you can do some pretty cool stuff!
