10/15/2011 - Taking the West by Magic!

 Sorry you had to give up your Dream - :sad1: but hey you get some MAGIC :wizard: like you said 7 days of it! I haven't yet thought about the excursions I might just check out the website you posted.

From what I have counted so far for the FE group is:
7 cabins
14 adults (6 pirate: and 8 princess:)
7 children (3 pirate: ((16, 12 and 8)) and 4 princess: ((10,9, 8 and 18mths))

Yes your right, maybe it's just that everyone has been busy with school and we should pick up here soon :confused3

My numbers agree with yours on the FE so far. You're right, it's really dead around here! We need to chat more! :rotfl:

Our garden is in, and sprouting, at least some of the plants are, so hopefully we'll get some nice veggies in a month or so. Today is the first day in awhile that it's been kinda dreary out, but it's also drizzly and we sure could use the moisture! Thanks for the luck ivet, no word yet but I'm keeping my fingers crossed, it's supposed to be this week!

ColoradoDisneyFreaks, are you cruising alone with your daughter? That sounds awesome. As much as I love my husband, it is nice to take a trip alone once in a while.

I am cruising just me and Jillian. Scott (DH) and Ryan (DS) are on a trip to China right now, and so this cruise is a "makeup" trip for she and I. I don't have the vacation to go, and Jillian didn't care all that much when presented with the option of doing a Disney cruise she jumped at it. :lmao:

Since both my son and my husband love to go new places and see new things all of the time, but I like to occaisionally be a bit more laid back about a vacation, I think this will probably happen more often now that DS is older (7, so he's not ancient!)

:lmao: at your double down Aha ha ha :rotfl2: you my friend are way to funny!!

I do my very best! We found out last week that our dive shop is closing down (the owners want to retire and do something different, can't blame them, they don't make a lot of money off the shop, they just get to dive for free!) so I'm going today to see what kind of great deals I can find on equipment! I'm not going to get a wetsuit for me (hoping to get rid of some of the junk in my trunk first!) but might for Scott that he can pick up once he gets back

KEWL I am so glad we have the same count - every now and then I get that oh crap feeling that I may have missed someone :scared1:. I was thinking that one of us could make up a spread sheet and PM the rest of us on the FE. So we can PLOT our cabins on board by decks. Oh and maybe someone or one of us (a central location) can have an eraser board so we can leave messages if there are any room changes.

Aww you get use to and comfortable going to the same place and becoming friends with the owners that its :sad1: to see them go.

LOL :rolleyes1 does Scott know that he is going to pick back up :rotfl:

Hello everyone! I know, I'm joining in a little late, but I came about this trip a little last minute. This past Thursday, my DF and I booked a room aboard the Magic for this October. We're going on the cruise for our honeymoon, and it was a decision that took us forever to agree upon.
DF has been on 2 cruises before, (one with Carnival and one with RC) and he really wanted to go on a cruise for our honeymoon. I've never been on one before, so I was a little hesitant.
The original plan was to go to WDW, but since we took a spur-of-the-moment trip in May, DF didn't want to go again. So, I thought over his request for a cruise and figured I could combine both our wishes. I knew I wanted to try a Disney cruise at some point, and I figured this was the best time to give it a go.

DF and I looked at the iteneraries, and as soon as I saw that the Magic was a 7 night trip and went to Key West, I knew this was the ship for us.

And, as soon as we booked, I came to the DISboards to start looking up cruise information and tips. :thumbsup2

I have to admit, though, since I've never been on a cruise before, I have no idea what to expect or what I should do to prepare. Normally, I'm the Disney planner, but this one is all DF, since he's been on several before.

I am glad, though, that I found a thread for other DISboard members going in October. It'll be nice to share my excitement with others who are anticipating the trip just as much as I am!

Welcome aboard! And congratulations on the wedding, you and DF are going to have a great time on the Magic!

As for planning, that's the fantastic thing about a Disney cruise, unlike planning to go to WDW (if you're a "touring plan" kinda gal), you don't need to do that, it's much more relaxed on board. You can pick excursions through Disney, or do your own thing, or stay on board the ship and enjoy it.

I'm adding you to the roll call in the first post, feel free to ask anything you like, I've done the Western twice, and sailed the Magic 3 times, and we've got other repeat cruisers aboard too, we're going to have a great time! :cool1:

Thanks! DF says his favorite part of cruises is that everything is laid out for you, whereas I'm still in awe that DCL takes that stress off of me!

Thanks! I saw that there are other honeymooners going, which I think is really cool. :thumbsup2 Fall cruises seem to be the perfect honeymoon choice for newlyweds. I know I can't stop thinking about how fantastic it's going to be. :woohoo:

You will definitely have a blast. I'd say you certainly want to make a reservation at Palo for dinner one night. Don't worry if you can't get it booked at 75 days out, they always hold back reservations to book on board, and even if those are all taken up, or don't work out, you can contact the Palo desk (I don't remember the Maitre'd's name) and ask to be put on a waiting list to be notified if there are any cancellations, and usually there are.

If you like stage shows, don't miss the nightly shows, and you certainly want to watch for "Match your mate" in Rockin' Bar D, it's the Disney version of the Newlywed game, and they're always looking for the newest newlyweds in the bar to participate, you can win spa visits!

We're not doing any Disney excursions (gotta get in some scuba diving...) but have been on the Western twice, so let me know if you have any questions about the destinations. TartanTinker is going to do Disney excursions for the peace of mind, so she might be able to help too, although she's in Scotland so it may take her awhile to come back and visit us. Usually it's pretty much ivet and I in here keeping the inmates company. :lmao:

:surfweb: I think TartanTinker is doing B2B eastern/western so she'll be a wealth of knowledge too.

What I find puzzling is that we have 78 posts but more that 1200 views - :rotfl2: I know we don't bite so log right in and say HI!!!!
