Sure, honestly, you can get upgraded even the day of the cruise, so keep checking back!

Sorry for the late notice, but I should have known I can't wait on DH to make any decisions Would like to order some bands. There is 6 of us, but with 4 children (11, 9, 7, 7) so not sure how big the bands are. So whatever you think is best per size. So 2 adult, 4 children or just 6 if the bands are the same size.
And since we have never done this before, do we just pay on the ship?

It's not late at all! The website doesn't say how big they are, so I don't have good advice as to which to order. I know my kiddos would wear wristbands on their ankles when they were too big for their wrists? I'll put you down for 6 regular, and yes, you just pay me on the ship...

Everyone, it's now the middle of the first full week of September, so, I'm going to be putting in the order for the meet bands at the end of this week so that I have time to get them and send them to the ship before we cruise. The list of those who have ordered bands is in the first post if there is anyone else interested, I'm going to place the order on Sunday, September 11th. We're really close to 50 bands now, and the price actually drops at 50, so I may end up ordering extras just in case and bringing them to the meet to see if anyone wants them then.

Question for all you experienced cruisers.. Can we bring bottled water and packaged snacks on board. We plan on stopping on the way to the cruise and stocking up on bottled water and snacks for when we are off the ship.

I really thought it would probably be for the ones that have been before too...and not the newbies! Who knows....lets hope!

I've been digging around DISboards trying to find that darn thread that had a bajillion and one pages FE gift ideas. Does anyone recall the name of the thread? I've searched the obvious and no luck. There was something I saw that I'd like to look at again to inspire me for one of the FE gifts we have.

Yes, you can no problem. Just make sure you carry it on, don't put it in your suitcases that you're leaving with the porters.

It is actually on Halloween and my son will be 16 the week after that...so lots to celebrate.

This is our Fall break week...so that is why we are going at this time.

When is your DD birthday?

So fun...my daughter will be SO excited! I can't wait to tell them, it is so hard to keep my smiles to a minimum.

Bring your smocking, I did a little bit of smocking years ago for my daughter, dont do it anymore, but i did make a few dresses for her. maybe we can meet on the sea days.

From reading threads here at the DIS and other boards, the number of previous cruises, whether you used a TA or went direct to DCL, if you are celebrating, etc. make no difference in whether you will be upgraded. DCL upgrades folks out of the highly popular cabins so they can bring in more guests. So, the two qualities that determine if you get the pixie dust are the length of time you have had your reservation, and the popularity of your current class of cabin.

As a noob cruiser, I hope this info is correct so I can get some pixie dust, too!

I have heard that around 7pm Key West really comes alive and has great entertainment for familys etc. I looked at the personal navigator for the same trip in march of this year and the all aboard time is 1am but when i checked ours it says 7.30pm. Im hoping its 1am as it would be great to come back on the ship for our evening meal and go back out for a few hours in Key West.

Yes, I'm trying...but it is so hard. I think my 15 year old son suspects, but not sure. I homeschool him, so it has been really hard. He does take some classes during the week, so that is when I get most of my "packing, FE stuff done"...still a challenge. I just can't wait to see their faces when we tell them!

I hope I can keep it all together. I need duct tape!

Great the 20th! I'll be sure and tell Ashley. 11 days apart...cool. I've got my pumpkin baby October 31st!

Great! I'll see what I can do. So far we only have BOYS to smock for. Girls are easier (well, in the sewing part). I hope to get some matching outfits started for the boys (one due on October 10th and the other 2 years in December) to bring with me on the cruise. I wish Ashley could still wear her Cinderella dress I smocked and then I bought a Snow White plate and made it into a dress...too small. Then I bought a Mary Poppins dress (but she did have it when we went to the Mary Poppins on Broadway--love it!)...all too small....:-(

AFAIK, the 1AM departures occur when the Captain is positively disposed towards the crew (if the ship receives an award, honor, or achievement). The extra time is really for the crew to enjoy some extra time ashore. I have read of this happening in Cozumel, too.

I am hoping that we might get the extra time, too.
