10/15/2011 - Taking the West by Magic!

We have just been upgraded as well!!! Since we didn't have a GTD room I just assumed it would not be possible! We went from 6042 to 8058 which is a family stateroom. We had a family stateroom on our last cruise since we traveled with 5 people in 2008. I am pinching myself just because I love the idea of pixie dust!! I actually checked the Disney web site twice because I couldn't beleive it! OK, I know it's not that big of a deal but I'm super excited that it happened anyway! I feel lucky already. This is going to be a great cruise. Can't wait to meet you all!!!

that's awesome! I agree its going to be a great cruise!

OMGGGGGGosh I just saw your 39days until Honeymoon and thought :scared1:thats our cruise - ONLY 39 days left!!!! Whooo hooooo

I know right! I was talkin to the hubby this morning about it and he's like gosh I really need to get more focused on my workouts at the gym and getting ready (and all I can think is gym? I have FEs to finish and clothes to pick out, who has time for the gym lol)

Hi Josie- Welcome, My name is Dara and I have a DD Sienna who is 18 months (her 1st cruise) but my 3rd. The browns also have a 2 year old little girl. You are going to have so much fun! Hope you will be joining our meet on saturday. Have you booked any nursery time or excurisons yet?

That is so great - it will be wonderful for Delaney to have some little friends:) I look forward to meeting you!!

:welcome: Josie and family your right at home with the EXCITEMENT levels :cheer2: and first timers on DCL. I think I want to camp out at the entrance when you all come on board and see your faces :woohoo: ahhhh priceless!

Yup Shannon is right  and the more definitely the merrier :dance3:

Thanks, we are so excited! My dd is going to swim with the dolphins!

Welcome aboard Josie! I'll add you're family to the roll call in the first post, let me know if you want to add your family's names or stateroom, and be sure to read the first post, that's where we've been posting all of our info!

If you have any questions, there are a couple of us who've done the western a few times and we're happy to help out where we can!

Thanks! I will definitely let you know if I have questions - I look forward to meeting you!

On our first cruise on the Wonder we had to go with a family stateroom since there were 5 of us. It probably would have been smarter to go with an inside room to save money but it was really hard to do that after having a balcony. I know you have been on several Disney cruises and been in different type rooms. What are your thoughts on this?

I love having the verandah. My kiddos have always been the ones to close down the clubs at night, having to be drug out the doors kicking and screaming, so we never used that as an escape to be able to stay up later, but it is great to get up in the morning and be able to walk outside and feel the sea air, in the Med it was amazing getting up and watching the ship pull into port!

I've stayed in the regular verandah room on our 3 day cruise, and actually missed the extra space, and for 3 of my 4 cruises I've stayed in the delux family stateroom. So this will actually be my first cruise without a verandah! We'll see how it goes, with just Jillian and I the space won't be an issue, but I bet I'll miss the verandah

so I logged onto DCL today and i noticed my stateroom number was changed...We got upgraded!!!!!! wooooohooooo:woohoo:

I guess our cruise isn't that full, so you might want to log on and see if you were upgraded too. Hope everyone is!
Nice!!! Congrats :) I'm checking now :)

Just wanted to pop in for a minute to say "hi". We have been super busy with our move and I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks. I am up to my ears in boxes, trying to get contractors out to finish the basement, school enrollment, phones, DMV, and everything else imaginable that comes along with moving! Honestly, the cruise, until today, hasn't even crossed my mind. I know that's a sin, but it might be a good thing in the long run...at least I'm not pacing around the house waiting for time to tick by!!

I still have a few pages to catch up on, but congratulations to all the newlyweds and welcome to the new cruisers. We look forward to meeting and hanging out with all of you guys! I'll try to catch up regularly (when I can). I will DENINITELY need this vacation after this move :thumbsup2

Oh, and I have given Jennifer our cabin # now for the FE.

See you guys in what, 38 days? Woo Hoo :cool1:

:wizard: there's still time!! Faith - trust and pixie dust - but either way we're still sailing away.

Ha! Ha! That is funny! I'm trying to get in shape, but HATE to exercise. I'm doing consignment now...hoping to get extra spending money for cruise! lol Ready to get all the things packed, FE all together (got to stop buying, but can't stop!:goodvibes )

Can't wait!

It is actually on Halloween and my son will be 16 the week after that...so lots to celebrate.

This is our Fall break week...so that is why we are going at this time.

When is your DD birthday?

So fun...my daughter will be SO excited! I can't wait to tell them, it is so hard to keep my smiles to a minimum. :dance3:

See you soon.

Renee

Renee! I saw that on the roll call - that is so super cool! What day is your dd's birthday?

Sorry for the late notice, but I should have known I can't wait on DH to make any decisions :rotfl2: Would like to order some bands. There is 6 of us, but with 4 children (11, 9, 7, 7) so not sure how big the bands are. So whatever you think is best per size. So 2 adult, 4 children or just 6 if the bands are the same size.
And since we have never done this before, do we just pay on the ship?

Thanks!!

It's our fall break too, no birthdays, but it's nice to be able to take a vacation when everyone else is in school!

Really there is still time? They continue to do upgrades? I figure maybe because we've never cruised and most of you are returning cruisers. I want to call and say, "Pick me! Pick me!" hahaha
