WOW! I just noticed I have just over 4 thousand posts! I really don't talk that much... "what's up with that?" :rotfl2:

Hi Tracy and Renee!!! :wave2:

Great news Mary. Hope that everyone is able to sit up and take nourishment.

Wish that we had to old style counters back. Mike

Great news Mary. Hope it all goes well.

Mike I want the old counters back too -- 19 months and 2 weeks is depressing. At least with the old ones the time seemed to go quicker.

Laundry today and then have to drive DS back this afternoon.

We are supposed to get more snow tomorrow - where is spring????

Rosemary,
we'd surely love to meet you and Richard. But we won't get into the 'hot planning phase' for that vacation before Mid-July. I just started reading the stuff we received from the Boston and the Massachusetts Tourist Information, and a couple of guidebooks we bought. This will give us an overview of what we would like to see/do. But first I have to do the planning for our Thailand-trip whis is due in less then six weeks. This won't be so much work as we only have three days in Bangkok, where we need a schedule. For the nine day we're going to spend in P_H_U_K_E_T we already have plans: Two days we will spend underwater, and the rest we'll just realx at the beach, work out in the hotel gym and do some shopping
But then there is our trip to Vienna in the first week of July - And this one needs some heavy planning as there is so much to see. After our return from Austria we'll get into the planning for New England and we'll have to see what Jenn & Pete have in mind for us ;)

Mary & George,
congratulations on selling the house :cheer2:
Will they take the kids too or do you have to take them to Florida with you? :rotfl:

So what abouit your new house, Ave?
When will YOU move?

Mary--Congratulations on the offer, I hope it all goes smoothly.

I am happy to say that David is finally feeling better. He's not coughing nearly as much. I hope we're at the tail end of it.

Good to hear, Marianne.
I went to my doc again and he ruled that I better stay home some more, so far til Wednesday. He said that there is a nasty bugger in circulation and that he had several patients who went back to work too early. All of them had the cold returning within days and it was even worse then. So we decided to play it safe. I miss the gym :sad2: No work-out in a week, and I have to wait at least until Thursday :confused3

Well, I finally got the nasty thing that is going around about a week and a half ago. Went to the doctor last Thursday after I completely lost my voice. She put me on Biaxin (antibiotic). The only reason I am mentioning this is that I had cardiac side effects from this med -- rapid and irregular heartbeat. Couldn't figure out what was going on all of a sudden. Didn't think that an antibiotic could cause cardiac symptoms but I went to my handy PDR (physician's desk reference) and sure enough, cardiac irregularities were a side effect -- extremely rare one, tho. Went to urgent care after calling my doctor's answering service Saturday and when I told the doctor what I decided the cause of my problem was, I think he thought I was just another crazy nurse self-diagnosing herself until he found the same side effects and was very surprised.

Anyway, if anyone ever starts taking Biaxin and then you feel your heart jumping around in your chest, I would highly recommend stopping this medicine immediately and calling your MD.

Good job, Jean!!
Did he give you a different antibiotic? I'm asking because usually you should always use up the intended number of tablets to avoid creating resistent bacteria. I also never heard of cardiac side-effect from antibotics. Rash, respriratory problems, digestive disorder, etc, but no cardiac trouble :confused3
Fortunately I didn't have to take antibiotics this time. I'm just taking some over-the-counter stuff to clear my sinus, and a daily hot tub with some special oils. I already read three books during the last week, including 'Hotel New Hampshire' by John Irving (In English, of course). It was kind of weird, but fascinating. I guess now I'm hooked. I already ordered another Irving-book on amazon.

I am happy to report......THE SAGA IS FINALLY OVER! We just got the inspection report and aside from a few very minor items (like stuck windows!) we passed with flying colors. Thanks for all your prayers and a special thanks to St Joseph whom I now have to dig up and move to the new place. I thought I could pass him on to Mary but it looks like she won't be needing it...Congrats to her also. Needless to say, I will be very busy the next few weeks......we are scheduled to close on April 1st. We'll aim to move out about a week prior which gives me only about 3 weeks to get everything done. Since all the kids are gone, this means I'm gonna have to clean out their rooms myself....I just hope I don't find any "surprises", but it will be their fault if I do since they were warned! I will be busy, busy, BUSY!
To all my fine friends in PA: Thanks for warning me about the 8-10 inches of snow we got on Thursday! It was so bad, many restaurant owners acted like Southerners and closed their establishments early. When we got out of the meet at about 9p.m., it was hard to find a place closeby that was open. Luckily we discovered a pizza place that was willing to deliver to our hotel so several of the parents got together and made a little party in the breakfast room. Jen did well and managed to score points in every event EXCEPT the one she substituted for the mile which is a shame because had she duplicated last year's time in that event she definitely would have placed. But that's not up to me to decide......
Nancy: Sorry we couldn't get together. It was such a tight busy schedule we barely had time for anything extra. We did manage to get over to Country Cupboard where I splurged on several bags of Mexican Hats!
Arlene and Andy: I'm so jealous.....I want to see Spamalot so badly! Tim Curry has been a BIG favorite of mine since RHPS. Hank Azaria and David Hyde Pearce aren't too shabby either! In fact, I subscribe to a threatre newsletter sponsored by the NY Times and I had bookmarked that one as a good one to see when we get up to the city. Let me know how you like it.
Pixie dust to all those who are feeling under the weather.

Jeanne & John,
congratulations on eventually selling the house :cheer2:
Remember we talked about Nip/Tuck some weeks ago? It will be discontinued over here :sad2: Not enough people watching it. Didn't seem to meet the average German taste - Perhaps I already spent too much time with you crazy Americans, because I like it :teeth: It will be substituted with 'Desperate Housewives'. Will have to tape the first two episodes as it starts when we are in Thailand.
Talking about TV-series: Anja just subscribed to InStyle (German Edition) and got Season 6 of Sex & The City on DVD for it. Now we got 'em all ;)

Eric: I'm not positive, but I think I saw Nip/Tuck in a DVD version at our local video store. I would check Amazon to see if it's available since we won't be visiting Blockbuster too often in the next few weeks!

Thanx for the info, Jeanne.
I'll put it on my shoppinglist for New England in October. I guess it's funnier in English anyway.

Great News Jean and John!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
I guess Feb. is a good month for house sellers/buyers. :goodvibes

Eric, STILL waiting to get the go ahead on our house. Looks like Mary and her family will be here before we even get the slab poured. :confused3
Jeanniec, I was surprised to hear that about Biaxin. My doc writes for lots of that for sinus and upper respitory infections. Thanks for the heads up.
Lots of sick folks coming into the office. Luckily my family and I have remained healthy all winter. Spring is coming!!!! :sunny:

Later,
Avé
