Hey Kathy,

It's easy to tell one end from another. Just offer him food, then you know HA HA HA
He is a sweetie, loves everyone...

Bye, Kim

Hi Everyone,
Still no snow here! :sunny:  But some cold temps. And we lost power this morning for a few hours, so figure.

I'm sorry to say my foster cat Friady got hit by a car last night. This time we are sure it was her because she was wearing her collar. Some of you may remember we had a false alarm about a year ago. The person who hit her didn't even stop.

Everyone stay safe and warm!
Later, Avé

Ave'. I am so sorry about your kitty. It is crummy that someone could hiit an animal and not stop. In the spring I freak when I run over the frogs that are everywhere. Hope the kids are OK.

Can you please e-mail with your address, I have a little something for Mary & Regina.

Thanks, Kim

Hey Mike,
 Somehow our 1-1/2" of snow we got this morning isn't worth talking about, huh. Good luck to everyone digging out.
Papa, we need to get together for a mini meet somewhere. We are to close not to meet up somewhere sometime. E-mail or pm me if you and Kathy are interested.

What hair problem?? Gulliver is beautiful. We love him and will not stand for anyone making fun of him.

Hey! Riich wants to know if you can smuggle Gullliver aboard the Magic... they have a rodent problem ya know.
:earseek: ;)

Happy to hear Bette has a competent doctor. Wishing her the best with her upcoming laparotomy.

Jeanne--- So sorry to hear about your knee....... If it was Rich's Left leg and your right we could tie you together and you could hop around like those sack races.......
LOL! It's Richard's right leg also so no sack racing. However, I think Jeanneg is too short to be paired up with Rich. He would have to drag her because there is no way she would be able to keep up with his long legs. And with him recooping from double hernia surgery (ventral) that might not be a very good idea right now. :D

Speaking of which, I had to ban Rich from going outside today because he wouldn't listen to me and he kept picking up the snow shovel!!! We have a snow blower which I am very capable of handling. I've snowplowed the driveway before all by myself while he was at work and Richie was at school. Richie couldn't help either because he was sick in bed with bronchial thing he seems to be getting every year at this time since starting college.

If I could have gotten 100 bucks for every time I had to yell at him not to shovel snow or clear snow off the cars, we would have this Disney cruise more than paid for. Why do guys think they have to do it all? I couldn't seem to get through to him that he could do more damage and prolong his recovery. Finally, FINALLY, this evening he admitted that I was "probably right".

Lots of postings I still want to respond to but need to call it a night. See you guys later.

Well the snow is finally done and unfortunetely it fell on the wrong day so I am back to work..boo hoo....

We got approx 2 feet of snow with drifts about 3 feet. Thankfully when we bought our house we also bought a decent snowblower so it makes the clearing a little easier. It took Andy about 1 1/2 hours to clear the driveway and walks and being the nice guy he is he even shoveled the tenants steps which is actually their responsibility(yes - its written into their lease). He is lucky that today he is able to work out of the house today due to the cold weather(5 degrees will be the high). They are talking about another snowstorm this wednesday...I just want 1 day off from work....

Arlene,

Don't feel too lonely at work, I also am at work. But luckily I am only a 15 minute ride . We have a ton of snow , gulliver is the happiest, and like you said more snow coming Wednesday.

Bye, Kim

P.S. Hi Andy, what are you up too ??

Peter glad that you are having fun with your new toy. Tuli make sure that Rich and Richie take care of themselves.

Ave so sorry about the kitty. Hope that everything else is going ok for you. Kim and Bette batten down the hatches and stay warm. We got a light dusting of snow here in Nashville, that is all gone now.

We have visits today with the babies and we are still working on my son's car when it warms up some.

Hope that everyone has a great day. Mike

Kim:

I guess I'm going to answer for Andy(I guess I've aquired that right) - he hardly has the chance to sign on to the boards so I give him updates - he is a busy little beaver. He seems to be working 7 days a week with an occasional day off. He is feeling much better now and every time I hear him starting to get sick I send him right into the medicine chest to start taking medication. I feel very sympathetic right now since his work is primarily outside work-but hes smart and dresses in layers.

I hope everyone made out well and was safe and warm...

Arlene

Here we had snow too: About a fifth of an inch :cool1: But more is predicted - We'll wait and see.
Anja's working the lateshift again til Wednesday. So I'll go to gym to run 7.5 miles and then it's home for dinner and a movie. I guess I'll watch 'The Day After Tomorrow' as a sign of solidarity with all of you who are buried under snow :earboy2:
Take care and keep warm

Arlene take care of Andy, Eric did Anja get her transfer?

Kathy is calling as it is time to go see little ankle bitters. Mike

Ok, now you got my curiosity up.........never having met, just HOW TALL tall is Rich?
(I'm 5'6"", so that's not too shabby for a girl!)

Ave: so sorry about the kitty.

Peter and Jen: Thanks for the photos.....I've forgotten what "real" snow looks like since here 2" is considered a blizzard! Are those some nice cold beers I'm noticing on your back deck? You've got the right idea......who needs milk and bread?!?

It's now been a week since my injury and, guess what?.......I think I'm healing on my own. Taking any kind of stairs is still a killer, but when I'm just walking my gait is practically normal. It will be interesting to see what shows up in the MRI. I bet when they took it on Friday, it was already starting to heal. In fact, I feel so much better, I'm driving today. This being confined in the house is driving me crazy! Tomorrow is spinning class and I won't be able to do that, but I plan to go back to the Y on Wednesday and maybe see what happens if I just peddle on a stationary bike. Water aerobics would probably be the best thing, but doing the whole bathing suit/wet hair routine in these frigid temperatures just doesn't thrill me.

Jeanne G ... Rich is a "tall drink of water" so the sack race if out unless you do it lying down! (Oh No, did I really say that  )

Ave ... Sorry about the Kitty. Boy how can some people live with themselves when they do that to a poor animal. I feel bad when I see something hit in the road (except snakes, they need to be run over several times). Even if it was an unavoidable accident, at least admit it and say you are sorry. Hope you guys are coping OK.

Peter ... looks like our EAGLES will be playing your PATRIOTS. May the best team (wearing green) win.

By the Way, Peter, that was so nice of you doing those RAC's ... I know it only takes a few minutes with your play, but boy does it say a lot of back pain for the people with shovels. I see in your pictures that you too do a little shoveling for a "doggie potty" in your back yard. Hey, I don't think I could go with snow up to my tush either.

Kim ... Love your "hairy" child. ?, does he let you towel off the snow when he comes in cause it looks like he's a magnet for it.

Gotta get back to work ..... geez, I got here didn't I, now they expect work out of me!?! What's up with that?

No, Mike.
Obviously the job was already gone even before they posted it. This sounds strange, bu happens often: German law requires employers to advertise every job within the company. Applicants from within have to be preferred. But often it works loke this: There's a new position. The company has already decided who will get it (Often someone who is somhow 'connected'). Then they advertise it. Do some interviews. And eventually aforementioned person gets the job. It's not fair, but happens all the time.
Just today Anja got a letter stating that she didn't get the job.

In my company it seems the position is filled before anyone else even knows about it.

We had the executive secretary retire. The position was filled by someone in what was almost a file clerk position-what does that say? That happened without the job ever being posted which they are supposed to do so everyone has a chance at it. Needless to say people are a little resentful of this girl getting the job since the new position pays so much more. We would have liked to have a chance at least..

Eric ... Bummer, does Anja have any idea if there is a job anywhere else in the hospital? I hate it when they play politics with promoting or reassigning people's jobs. They just did that in our agency with an office manager ... they didn't even have the guts to tell our Regional Director who was picked until he read it in our on-line paper!

I don't believe it :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: it's snowing again. I know, I know :charac2: I swear I was made for a warmer climate.

Well back to work .....

PS ... Peter, If I give you gas money will you do my driveway? (hehehe)
