It's like -19C here and with the wind factored in about -24C which is up from this morning.

We are supposed to get snow tonight and tomorrow but we'll see because so far (fingers crossed) most of the snow they have predicted we'll get we haven't.

Bette - so glad to hear about the operation and Kim I understand your frustration.

Back to work. It's almost time to go thankfully. It's been a long frustrating week.

Fiona

The snow has started here. Our flurries yesterday ended up being 3 inches. Today into tomorrow we ard due to get 6-11 inches. Bring on the hot cocoa!!

I Feel like A GERM.

Oh yeah My FEET stink... LOL

Peter

Jeanne,
who cares? they can look through your clothes anyway :earboy2: But the tip about avoiding clothes with metal parts is correct. Use a sports-bra/halter-top and you should be fine. No earrings, necklaces, etc, because those may turn into missiles (NO KIDDING) when the magnets are engaged.

Peter,
with 20 vacation days in a row you may become an apprentice-Germ, but not yet a real one pirate: And with your commuting habits you should be aware that a 135 mile-trip over here could make you pass through three or four countries :moped:

We only had some storms this week in Frankfurt, but the rest of the Republic got it worse. But this morning the streets were really slippery, I skidded around like on a skating rink. For tonight they predict anotehr storm and some snow, but the most snow is predicted for the following night - Just in time for the Monday Morning Rush Hour :umbrella:

:badpc: :badpc: :badpc: This is what I did last night :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:
It started so good when I installed the new hardware for our phones, because everything worked from the first second. Then I set up the Wireless LAN and everything went smoothly too - Until I tried to access the internet. So I may be incommunicado for the rest of the weekend - Right now I'm at the office working my butt off for a special project.
Keep your fingers crossed that my Internet Provider will be able to fix everything soon.

Eric I hope that you are able to get your wireless network up and running. I use a router that goes to an ethernet bridge that plugs into the power-outlets. I have two more bridges that I plug into any outlet in the house and have internet service in any room. More secure than wireless.

Peter, Jenn and all of the rest of the cruisers that have upcoming cruises I hope that you have smooth seas, great food and the time of your lives.

To everyone else stay warm, cuddle up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate and just relax. If you have to drive in the snow please be careful we want to see all of your smiling faces onboard the magic. Mike :boat:

Hi Guys, Kim here....

Well we are buttoning down the hatches and getting ready to get slammed. We are on the line for 24" of the white stuff. I just finished making a pot of Turkey Chili, will have to see how it tastes after a few hours simmering. I also made a pot of vegie spaghettie sauce, that already tastes gooood. It is all for me as no one else would eat it, they are carnivores...

I plan on being lazy for the rest of the weekend, may not be a work Monday if all the snow comes as predicted. Everyone stay warm...

Hugs to all,
Kim

P.S. Peter !!! How can you have another birthday you had one cookie night!!!

Power outlets? In Tennessee????

I have my W-LAN secured already, but know what you mean: When I set up my Notebook the very first time I had the WLAN inadvertently switched on and found two nets immediately. And while setting up my new net I found three more in our house or close by - And two weren't secured!!!! We had a report on TV some weeks ago with a couple of reporters cruising a residential area in a van with a laptop and logging into WLANs. The copied complete harddrives and then rang at the owners' doors and confronted them with their own data - You could see some people totally flabbergasted!!!!!

BTW: I'm ONLINE!!!!!!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cool1:

Baby, It cold outside (9 degrees) and snowing. Started snowing before 9am. Went to the gym at 7:30am to try to get home before the snowflakes started, but by the time I left the gym it was already snowing hard. Since I live really close to the gym, didn't have trouble getting home. In fact if it wasn't a really steep long hill, I would walk there. By the time I walked up to the gym, I wouldn't need the gym. Plus the outside weather is not climate controlled either. And yes those spinners were there for class. In fact they had 2 classes going. I just did my 65 minutes on the Elliptical machine. The rest of the weekends work out will be snow removal. At least Norm has his snow blower.

I took my shower after I got home and have my PJ's on for the rest of the day. I also plan to be lazy.

Eric--- Glad you are connected. I still am clueless when you talk about computer stuff.

Hope everyone stays warm. Kim enjoy the chili and sauce. We had soup and sandwiches for lunch. Snow to me means soup, chili or hot chocolate should be eaten.

Nancy

It's just raining here...and I hope it stays that way, but they are telling us to be prepared. The temps are to drop, so freezing rain and snow are predicted, as well as, all the slush that is on the ground will freeze over. YUCK! :crazy2: Thank goodness Steve only works 1 mile from the house. He could walk home if he really had to. We too, are in our "Comfy Clothes". That's what we call boxershorts, tshirts, and lounge pants. Ahhhh. Life is good. All this talk of food has got me thinking about our dinner. I have no idea...We had a ham yesterday after sled riding. I'll have to check the freezer and see what I have for tonight!
Stay warm and dry everyone. :grouphug:

Stay warm and safe inside to all my northern friends. Although not as cold and no snow, central FL is going to be it's coldest this winter in the next couple of days. When we woke up this morning, we were graced with tons of fog, then it rained lightly and now it's just overcast and blah!! Certainly not the sunshine state today!!!

On a side note, Madison started sitting up on her own, crawling and standing up within the last week. She turns 9 months next week and she's all over the place now. If only I could get Emily to keep all of her little toys off the floor where Maddie is crawling!!!

Have a warm & cozy weekend everyone!!!

Nancy,
I prefer the elliptical machines as well, I do them four times a week and two times a week I run on the treadmill. The ellipticals are so much better for the joints. Today we were lazy and didn't work out, but we've been to the gym every day since last Sunday. Tomorrow it's running and Badminton again.

Eric, Spinners fascinate me, I could sit and watch them for hours. :cheer2:

I made a pot of homemade chicken vegetable soup with a skillet of cornbread. Also a fresh pot of coffee. Mike

Hope everyone is doing well.
Allen

Hi Allen,
good to se Ya :wave2:

We're fine, but I'm afraid our friends in the NorthEast are in trouble right now: I just saw on AOL that they were hit by two feet of snow. I hope everyone is fine, has enough food, power and DVDs.

Hi Guys,

This is New Hampshire checking in. It is still snowing VERY hard, we have somewhere around 20 inches on the ground now and they do not predict the snow to stop until late Sunday. This is a big storm. The only one really happy here is Gulliver, he thinks the weather is perfect. FMom & I are fixing a big stew and getting it on the stove. We will likely feed our Police friends as they have to work extra since no one will likely get in to relieve them until the snow stops.

That is about all from the snowy northeast. Stay tuned for the next update, have to go let Gulliiver outside..

Bye, Kim

P.S. Here is a link to my 3 yr old child playing in the snow. ( yes I know he has a slight hair problem but he's kind of sensitive so we don't talk about it)

Hang in there Kim and Bette, and everyone else being hit by this storm. Our biggest storm that I remember was 17" and that was horrible. Can't even imagine 20" and not done yet!

Hi everyone! Just checking in from Massachusetts! We have more snow than I have ever seen! Pete is out plowing, I don't even know how long he will be gone! He plowed out our neighbor a half hour ago, and it already looks like it needs to be done again! But we haven't lost power, or cable, so it will probably be a fun day to be snowbound! I know I am not going anywhere today! My brother and his wife are on the Magic right now..... how jealous are we??? Good thing they can't call me and laugh! Happy Sunday everyone!!

Hang is there guys! Hope everyone has power and plenty of good food to eat. Love the babies picture Kim. My hair problem is in the other direction.

Jenn feed Peter plenty of hot chili and crackers to warm him up. Nothing like comfort food on a cold snowy day.

Allen my man, good to hear from you. Hold down the fort there in Lebanon.

Good luck to the various football team supporters today. My home team stuck it up pretty good this year.

Here is a little blast from the past to help remember warmer times; Brunch

We have been watching coverage of the blizzard in the Northeast, and we wish you all well -- that your power stays on, that you have enough to eat, and that everyone stays well. Looking at all that snow just reinforces the decision we made to move to NC from Chicago 18 years ago.

Kim -- so glad to see a picture of the dog I have heard so much about -- he is a big boy! I would love to see him playing in the snow with his nice warm coat on.

Hi, Allen!

Mike -- Thanks for sharing the picture of the brunch. Helps to solidify our great memories of Octoberfest III.

Dave and Ellen - Our deep condolence to you both on the loss of BIL. How very sad and tragic this is. I remember you guys going on your anniversary trip with BIL and sister and how excited you were that they were joining you on that cruise in one of the Disney Suites.

Small consolation, yes because there should have been many more to come, but you will always have the memories of that wonderful cruise and certainly memories of so many other happy occasions to have with you always. Condolences and prayers to your sister too. ...... R&R
