Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Nancy :cake: :bday: :cheer2:

Weather report from Germany: Blue skies and temps up to 16°C/61°F :flower1: NO kidding!!!! We drove with the top down on Thursday (Forecast was totally wrong) and will do the same today when we drive to the gym :cool1: Nature is already confused as some plants started to blossom which usually do not start before March.

Bette,
what operation? Did I miss something? We hope you're well.

Happy Birthday Nancy!!!

Weather is still nice here, but a little overcast. No plans for today, since Chris has to work all weekend. He's been working major overtime to get a special project completed, but too bad he doesn't get paid for the extra work. But, he is taking Monday and Friday of next week off, and we're going to head to WDW for the day on Friday. Anyone need anything while we're there?

Eric- I can't believe the German weather! January? I remember having 2-3 months of dreary clouds and cold during the winter. In fact, I remember taking a picture of the sunrise in February, Chris asked me why I took it and I told him it was the first time I had seen it in months! The temps sounds great too!
We are staying in the 60's and 70's still, at least until the end of next week. I sent the kids to school in tshirts! Strange! Like Jean from Charlotte said, that folks are worried that we'll make up for it in February with snow. We haven't even had a flurry here yet. The mountains and the Raleigh area both had snow so far, but none here.
Mary- Guess what! After living here all this time, we finally went to visit D. Earnhardt Inc. over the holidays. They had a nice display.
Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I still read here every day:)
Best wishes,
Laura

I just hate it when I have been away from the boards for a while. It is just so hard to keep up with all the posts. After I try to catch up on them I am too tired to post anything.

We spent Christmas at WDW staying at OKW. We have been at WDW for Christmas before, but not since 1999. As others have posted it was rather cool for Christmas. The kids were hoping for some time in the sun by the pool, but it didn't warm up until after we left on Wednesday after Christmas. Oh well, maybe next time. We did the Candle Light Procession Dinner package on Christmas day. Fortunately the rain stopped long enough for us to see the show. It was pouring as we walked to Chef De France and ate dinner prior to the show. As always the show was SPECTACULAR.

DD is doing the 5 week winter session for college in Milan. She left on Jan 4 and is really excited about it. We have had one phone call and an email from her so far.

Also a belated Happy New Years wish to all the DIS cruisers.

Dave & Ellen

P.S. - The system was so shocked that I was posting last night that either the DIS Boards or my connection to them went down last night, so trying again this morning.

It is freezing rain here today YUCK!!! That on top of eight inches of snow earlier in the week. Wishing I was back a WDW......or better yet on the Magic!!!!

Happy Birthday Nancy....I missed that in the posts before.

Welcome back, Dave & Ellen
Did you get my mail with the scan?

Laura,
neither can we believe the weather: This morning when I went to our baker it was blue skies and really warm. When we went to the gym at 1pm the skies were grey and it was a bit windy. When we left the gym at 330pm it was raining and storming, but still 10°C/50°F. But for tomorrow and Monday the forecast still predicts aforementioned 16°C/61°F.

Maybe I missed it, but did Anja get the transfer that she applied for??

Nancy would love to do a fall cruise, but the dough is a little low. As elvis used to say"know what I mean?"

Mike

Mike: great photo of the little one!

Speaking of cruises, we plan to do the Holland America trip to Alaska using DVC points (it's all we can afford until we unload this house). We can only do it towards the very end of August or early September since we'd like to wait until the 2 younger oones are back in school. We had planned to travel with some friends from NJ but they always have problems committing, so we're just gonna go ahead and book it on our own. If anybody out there is interesting in joining us, maybe we can coordinate it so that we sail together. It would be like a Cruisetober fest without the Mickey and about a hundred or so people fewer! Otherwise, we're gonna have to take our chances and risk getting that dreaded circumstance.......tablemates from h-e-l-l!

DAVE!!!!! So happy to hear from you and Ellen. Happy New Year to you and your family too. Was thinking about you the other day and wondering how you guys were doing. How exciting that your daughter is in Milan! What a wonderful experience for her! Don't worry, she will be fine.

Katie is ADORABLE!!! Also the updated picture of Emily and Madison is just too beautiful!!

Nancy - Glad the plumbing situation has been fixed. And belated happy b-day!

Ave and Mary glad you guys had a great reunion. Let us know the dates as soon as you do regarding your D.C. trip.

Eric and Anja - Rich and I are also concerned about your upcoming trip to Thailand. We saw pictures from that area of tourists suntanning and frolicking on the beach and then the camera scanning a short distance away and showed local people cleaning up quite a mess. April is some time away. Hope things are better by then.

Bette - Didn't know you were going in for surgery. Prayers and pixie dust being sent your way.

So happy to hear from everyone else too: The Jeans, Fiona, Arlene (will we ever get together on LI?), Lauran, Piglet, Kim (happy belated B-day to you too), Fortiev, the CrazyCunnninghams, Fridayfun, Winotracy, Pete and Jen and, OF COURSE, Art and Cathy (let's have another spontaneous Walmart meet!!!!)

We just returned from NYC after seeing Billy Crystal in "700 Sundays" matinee show. What a great show!!!! We laughed so hard and cried a bit too. It was very moving and extremely funny. What a great tribute to his family. Wish all of you could have been there with us to see it. We went with another couple and following the matinee we hi-tailed it back to the island for dinner at a local restaurant the other couple recommended. We had a wonderful dinner with them. It was a great ending to a wonderful fun day!

Where is everyone since I posted last night????

Did I break the system? :badpc:

Oh No! Perhaps everyone has been teleported to an alternate universe....
:space:

I know!!

Everyone who has been transported to the alternate universe...... :teleport: ....
.....is enjoying an alternate universe COOKIE NIGHT!!!! ::yes::

Actually Richard came up with that idea. :chat:

We're back! We took off for the weekend to go to Cabela's in Wheeling, WV with our car club. You would think we would be ready to stay home, but nope, we were off and running again! I feel like I have lived out of suitcase for a month...oh wait, WE HAVE!! We left Dec10 for Florida, came home Dec 26, regrouped and went to my Mom's for New Years in Cleveland, OH. Came home, the kids had a week of school and back on the road we went! That's just the way we are, always on the go to somewhere.
We too, are going to have nice weather this week....starting off with rain, but by Wednesday, in the lower 70's. I CAN'T WAIT! It could stay like that all year!
Well, off to unpack, yet another, suitcase!

Hey Rosemary - I've been busy today. Emily had to go to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's for one of her preschool friends. Can you believe that's the first time that I've ever walked into a Chuck E. Cheese's. Emily loved it!!! But, she didn't like the character when it came out to dance with the kids. I thought it was kinda funny because she'll run up to any of the Disney characters without even thinking about it, but there was no way she was going by this guy.

Oh my! Someone (The CrazyCunninghams) have come back someway, some how, from the Alternate Universe!!! Yiippie! Tulirich and Tulirose are no longer alone!!! Who will be next to show back up into our realm????

:teleport:

(Do you think it might be because the price of gas is falling??? )

Oh YES!!! Amy has now returned from the alternate universe. So tell me, how was the Alternate Universe Cookie Party??

I tell you, Amy, that Emily of yours is one smart cutie!!! She KNOWS that Chuckie is NOT a lovable Disney character. How could she possibly run to him when she knows the true loving characters of DisneyWorld!!!???!!!

Couldn't get into the boards for most of the weekend. Not sure if it was the boards or our internet connection since I've had problems with the cable too this weekend.

Happy belated birthday Nancy -- I truly think that all of us who have winter birthdays should be able to celebrate them someplace warm!

It's supposed to get up to 15C this week so I guess the rest of the snow will disappear which won't necessarily be a bad thing.

Haven't done a whole lot this weekend as haven't been feeling well -- still have a cold and it seems to want to settle into my chest so may be visiting the doctor next week. Jim is now worried that he will get it just before we leave for Florida on the 30th. Told him that even if he did get sick he'd be sick with Mickey so that would be better.

Must go and take some more cough syrup and try to sleep while I can -- last night was awake for 1.5 hours coughing and sneezing. Napped this afternoon but am still tired.

Take care everyone -- love the new picture of Katie (I can see Kathy in her).

Fiona

Hope you feel better soon Fiona. A trip to Florida!! How nice!!!

The wedding in Florida we should be attending this year is scheduled tentatively for first weekend in June and should be in Jacksonville. We should know definitely by next weekend.

Nancy:

Happy Belated Birthday...hope you had a great day and a better year to come....

Arlene

Get well soon, Fiona

15°C/59°F and blue skies - The top will definitely be down on the way from the office to the gym :cool1:

Bette ... How you feeling? If you are down and out, ask Kim to give us an update. Thinking about yu.

We had a "chilly" weekend. Bad ice storm and had power on and off and on and off and on and off for 9 hours and then on again and off ... you get the picture. Not happy campers.

One of the good things coming up is that we got tickets to Disney on Ice for next weekend. Now if the weather will behave so we can get to it ... The arena is 40+ miles from our home.

OMG ... I feel like such a rat ... I missed some birthdays , MaryJo, Sam and Nancy hope they were great - just like you guys!

Well back to work :badpc:
