I did some shopping yesterday! (Probably should not have, but it's the first time I felt like it in months!)
I finally broke down & bought a digital camera. After getting some of my pictures from the cruise back, and they weren't all that I would have liked, I decided, I'm tired of losing vacation memories to film, developers, etc.
So, Eric, you're the digital guru--pls tell me this was a decent purchase: Sony Cyber-shot, 4.1 mega pixels. It says Sony Lens f=5.0mm 1:2.8 and 5 Frame Multi Point AF. I did not get a larger memory stick--I think the one it came with will hold about 40 pictures. That's okay, I can always download & delete as I use it. When I go on vacation again, I'll invest in more memory. The thing is smaller than my cell phone! I'm going to just keep it in my purse, so I'll always have a camera available if needed!
Also, Andy--I bought a "cheap" karaoke machine ($30). It's a Memorex portable. It doesn't have a monitor, but it hooks up to the TV. It came with 1 microphone & I got another one. It also came w/a sample CD. I bought a couple more CD's. I basically got it for my party next month. My library has a few karaoke CD's, too, so I'm going to get those for that weekend. The kids absolutely love it.
Ciara--congratulations on your band competition. I'm sure you did great--don't be so hard on yourself!!!
Those of you calculating your children's ages on the next cruise, Heidi became aware that she will be a freshman in high school! David will be 6th grade, which is the first year of middle school.
Heidi's been very emotional lately. She says she's just now catching up on the schoolwork she missed. I find that hard to believe, as she only missed 4 days (there were conferences that week). She's never had this problem before. I wonder how much of this I can blame on our new homelife, how much on hormones, etc. Both she & David are slacking off on their homework. I have to get more diligent about making them sit down & do it (this is an area where I seriously lack!).
Well, gotta get to work.
Later, Marianne
