Ave,
thanks for the congrats, but Anja's BD will not be before friday ;) I'll be seven years older than her for more than three days yet :rotfl:

We went to Salem, Gloucester, and Rockport today. Even though the weather wasn't that good, it was a great ride. It's a wonderful landscape out there!!!
Tomorrow we'll visit the Museum of Science in Boston. Fortunately we were smart enough to do all the outdoor stuff last week when it was warm and sunny, so now we can do all the indoor stuff. We're also still in the process of boosting the American economy pirate:

Oh WOW, who watches "Nip/Tuck"? Is it really possible that "???" is the Carver?!? I don't want to type in the name in case someone has it taped. That thought had actually crossed my mind last season, but I dismissed it when other events happened.
This is getting SO good. Hubby is watching TV upstairs because he hates the show so much, he can't stand to even be in the same room when it's on! Tell me what you don't like about yourself........

Hi guys,

This is very WET New Hampshire checking in. The weather these past 5 days has been amazing. We are actually pretty dry at our home. We sit up on a small land rise so that is a blessing right now. Unfortunately the National Weather Service is predicting 7 more inches of rain tonight, that will bring the rivers way over flood level. We actually have one of NH's largest rivers about 150 yds behind our house, we also have a small 5 ft wide stream 100 ft next to us, I think you coiuld white water raft on that stream right now. It is expected that we will lose at least one bridge tonight, they just can't take this constant abuse from the rivers.

Ashland & Keene NH which have made the national news for severe damage are about 30 minutes southwest of us. So all in all, we are just sitting tight and monitoring the house for any water problems. Knock on wood nothing yet...

Ave', did you decide a a new job yet ?? JeanneC, hope mom does OK after this last surgery.

Hugs Kim & mom

Happy Birthday to all the October babies :bounce: ! (Today is DD Amy's 12th)

Sounds like everyone is enjoying their trips....wishing safe travels for you!

Thanks for all the replies regarding school during our cruise. Looks like several of us will be having "study hall" onboard.

Bette- Hope you can stay dry. We've been soaked in it for days too, but not as bad as you. We didn't have a drop of rain for almost 2 months, then made up our deficit in a couple of days :umbrella: .

Jeanniec- Hope your mom is doing better and for all those dealing with health issues... sending Pixie dust your way. :wizard:

Take care,
Laura :wave2:

Happy birthday, Amy :cheer2:  :wave2:
If any of the kids would like to ask questions about Germany or Europe during the cruise, I would be willing to attend their class for an hour or so and try my best to answer their questions. Or they could send me questions before the cruise and I'd do some 'homework' before the cruise and prepare something. And if anyone needs help with school projects concerning Germany and/or Europe, feel free to contact me any time. I've already done that for some of our junior cruisers and even for some people I just met 'virtually' on the boards.

Bette & Kim,
keep your feet dry!! We keep our fingers crossed that the floods stay away from your house. We hope you can make it to Boston on Friday in spite of the adverse weather. Please let us know.

To all those that are healing.....pixie dust and prayers for a speedy recovery!

To all those traveling....Be safe and continue to have fun!

To all those that are soggy....I wish you a big umbrella, dry clothes and a warm home. We have had cloudy overcast since Friday morning. It's almost like walking through a fog ALL Day long. It's that misty, yucky, an umbrella doesn't help sort of rain.

Happy Birthday to anyone I missed! Many returns of the day! (Isn't that what Christopher Robin says?)

Today while walking Daisy, I was getting "bored" and just wanted to go home. (just can't get into this whole fitness junk) So, I started to pretend that I was at the parks. I could "see" myself headed for the rides or shows. Sort of like, where would I want to be right now. I went to Space Mountain, RocknRoller Coaster, The Great Movie Ride, walked through TomorrowLand.....it made the walk go faster, but made me yearn for a day in the parks! (which we STILL haven't decided if we are going to go or not!)

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Well it is really wet here with some flooding but we have escaped so far. As a teacher I could volunteer to help with 'study hall' but I tend to try and forget I am a teacher while on vacation! However any science and/or questions on Scotland I would be happy to try and answer.
Jeanne - so far not succumbed to watching Nip/Tuck - think I agree with John on that one!!
Wendy

Kim and Bette - Please keep us up to date with any weather problems you may or may not be having. The pictures of the damage that the rains have done in NH that we have seen on TV are absolutely horrible. Hope you stay nice and dry and that the rain stops soon.

Bette, Kim: please keep safe and dry.
Michele: love your MO for making the walk go more quickly! Last week I finally made it up to swimming a full mile (66laps), but if I even begin to think of something else, I lose count!

Jeanne -- As I think I recall, you bought multi-day "new" park passes earlier this year and you planned to use some of them for people other than the ones who used them on the first trip at a later date (in other words, people with different fingerprints than the original users). Did you ever go back and try to use the passes with someone else's fingerprints and, if so, did it work? That sentence is so confusing, I don't even understand it when I read it back but I think you will know what I mean. The reason I'm asking is that my son is going to WDW in December, and if it's actually possible for someone else other than the original user to use the passes at a later date (if they are "no expire"), we will have him buy more days than he needs so Sam can use his pass in April. I am going to WDW this Sunday, but I have an annual pass which is good thru next April and the friend who is going with me already has her pass from AAA. I think I should give a prize to anyone who understands what I am trying to say. :confused3

Jean

Jean: I understand completely what you're asking, but unfortunately I have no answer.
We had to buy at least one admission in order to get the meal plan and my friend from Good Morning America gave us comp tickets for the other days. I have not done much research on this, but my feeling is that if at one or more of the people are a match they will probably just let the others go through. I have seen the CM at the turnstile press an override button when the finger scan doesn't work; I have also seen them ask for ID and then use the override. I'm not sure what to expect in your situation because you have an AP and your son's family won't be with you when you go in April.
My feeling is that you and Sam look so sweet they'll probably just let you go through without a hassle.

Jeanne -- Wow, what a prompt reply! You must have been sitting at your computer just waiting for my question. I like the idea you proposed in your PM. Actually Sam broke both wrists a couple of years ago (only he could do it -- he once both broke elbows shortly after we married when he signed up for a fitness class at our local park district and fell backward making a save in volleyball!). Anyway, he had one wrist pinned and the other arm was in a cast -- maybe I can put the pin back in (we saved it as a souvenir after it came out due to an infection) and get around the fingerprint thing that way. Thanks for the quick answer even tho it wasn't the answer I wanted. Why did they ever change the tickets (I know -- MONEY!). It's not as tho you can get two people into the park at the same time on the ticket.

:wave2:Hi there cruisers. We have booked onto the cruise and I thought I would check out this place. Seems like you have all been practicing on this thread for quite some time.

Folks,
I just sent out the latest version of The List - Check it out.

Welcome Tiger Lily Don't be imitated by the size of this thread. We love having new cruisers with us. Eric is the keeper of the list so he will fill you in on the information to join our happy group.

Jeanne and Jean--- I knew exactly what you were talking about. I hate the new ticket program especially since you have to pay extra for the park hopping feature, like that cost WDW money for you to go from park to park. Norm and I get annual passes. We have to get new ones this trip and with the DVC discount we are starting fresh with an Oct expiration instead of June. Last year I was told about the fact I can't renew my pass after it has expired I need to buy a new one. They left us renew it but put a note on my record that I cannot do it in the future. Bad girl.

Fiona-- Having fun getting caught up at work?

Jean-- Enjoy your trip to WDW. Can't wait for my conference to be over so that I can go.

Kim and Bette--- I hope you continue to stay dry.

I have to get up early and go to a computer class. The entire hospital is going to a new electronic charting system on 11/1 and everyone has to attend these classes. There are so many bugs in this system, that I can't see it going up 11/1 but they insist that you must go to class. Some tech person brought me my own personal electronic tablet which is like a laptop and exlained it all to me in 30 minutes. After she left I couldn't even figure out how to turn it on. It has electronic pens and portable mouses. To much technology for me. I figure I will worry about using it after I come back from vacation. If I can't figure it out will just use the old PC.

I must say that I am so bored with this version of AR. I continue to watch but switch between Commander in Chief and AR. It moves so slow you don't miss much. Dont' watch Nip and Tuck. But have a Lost addiction.

Off to bed for me.

Nancy

Welcome Tiger Lily!
Eric - thank you for the new list - enjoy the rest of your vacation.
How are we going to survive the year?! I can see me trying to sneak in a Wonder cruise next July - never sailed on her before!
Wendy
The one who is never going to have any money for her old age!

Welcome, Tiger Lily!

Wow, just one more year to go. I would also be willing to consider another cruise adventure sometime in between. Maybe we could combine the Wonder w/WDW. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. I'd be willing to sail on another cruise line as long as it was with friends! Rumor has it that Disney may be thinking of going to Alaska in 2007. If that's the case, we would probably do it again, but opt for a May or June sailing so we can see more snow.

Welcome Tiger Lily,

JeanneG, mom & I would be game for a mini break, we would be interested in going on one of those " other" cruise ships as long as we had friends, perhaps we can schedule a short trip in the spring ??

Bye, Kim
