Jeanne,

You may also reply it by a post here.

Michele -- Your puppy is absolutely beautiful - your groomer did a great job!

Kim,

Michelle,

We did Sea World last March and it was great! We really enjoyed it.

Did someone mention Busch Gardens? I really thought that was 'only ok.' Not on par withSW and WDW, in my opinion.

I haven't been to US or IoA, but from the friends I have who have gone, IoA was pretty good and Universal was not good for the kids. I guess it depends on how old the kids are.

And Seaworld usually offers 'Second Day For Free' when we're there. So we often leave the park early in teh afternoon to come back one of the next days.

Yes, we got that when we were there too. Another good point about Sea World.

Reminder that Amazing Race starts tonight. Family edition. I had read that there were alot of problems with production of this race and only goes through North America. I don't think it will be as interesting as the regular edition.

Wendy--- Are you still watching Lost season 1? If you having trouble following it, you can read extensive recaps of the abc website.

I haven't been to Sea World in several years. We are considering doing it on one of our trips this year. Apparently you can take a Lynx bus from the disney transportation center and takes you right to sea world. My sons liked the roller coasters at IOA, but Norm and I prefer Universal. IOA just reminded me of being at an amusement park like Hersheypark. However, for kids who like action rides IOA is the place to be.

It definitely lacks the Magic, but it got some cool rides. Nevertheless we won't go there the next years: Opposed to WDW it became a bit boring for us with the time. We went there in 95, 97, 99, 01, 03. But with my 'sisters' in the Florida Panhandle we prefer to go there instead of the Tampa/Clearwater area.
USF and IoA are way cool and there are also nice attractions for kids in USF: Nickelodeon, a Hannah-Barbera-based motion ride, Back to the Future, the Stuntshow and much more. But IoA is better.

There's a great coaster at SW: The Kraken. After Cruisetoberfest I business was so slow in the aftermath of 9/11 that we rode it three times in a row. The park attendants simply let us stay seated so few people were there. After three rides we had to leave our seats, went around and did it again ;) It's a floorless coaster: You sit above the rails, but your feet are dangling like on an inverted coaster :teeth: It runs very smooth, but does a lot of great dives and twists

Since my back injury last year, I'm sort of staying away from roller coasters. The only thrill ride I did in May was TOT. I love Thunder MT and even my kids were surprised I didn't ride it. Maybe eventually I'll go back on them.

Yes, sorry, it's been a busy day and I was thinking how to respond.......Let me put it this way: the discount is usually 25 or 50%, with the more popular shows discounted the least. Since an ORCH ticket usually costs $100, it could be as high as $75 plus whatever they charge for a service fee (about $4/ticket). So it could be approx. $80/ticket. However, if you put a cap of $50 or $60, I'll respect that and try to get something in that price range. You never know what they will have available, but it's always best to ask for the best available because these are the unsold tickets and they're usually off to the side since they sell the center first. You need to give me a ceiling price and a list of plays you'd like to see. I was thinking of taking a cab directly from the airport to SSS so we could be in line before 10 (they open at 11).....that way we'll have best selection. Were you interested at all in "Sweeny Todd", because that one I could preorder.

Thanks for the info, Jeanne.
Prices sound OK for us, so no ceiling necessary. I just checked Sweeney Todd. Although the review sounds good I think it won't meet Anja's taste. Something a bit merrier would be preferrable. Theses would be our favourites:
Lion King
Beauty and the Best
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Mamma Mia
Chicago
Phantom of the Opera

Watched most of The Amazing Race last night -- missed the first 10 minutes or so. I think this season should be interesting. I was sorry to see the Black family eliminated as I liked their interaction. I thought it was really interesting as the teams in the lead at any point in the race didn't seem to stay in the lead. If that continues it could be interesting later on.

Started to pack and realized that I have to do some laundry.

Must go and get ready for work.

I LOVED Kraken at SW! I was able to ride in the front row as well. We were there in Oct after 9/11 too. Wonder if we were there together and just didn't know it! I will ride just about anything.....the 2 things I can't do since having babies is spinning rides...witches wheel, tea cups, mission space..although I DID ride it once. and the other ride that gets me is Doctor Doom. I can't take that shooting up into the air. I saw so many stars I thought I was going to pass out! Connor will want to ride it as he'll ride ANYTHING. Colton is my careful child and won't ride certain things. Because i won't ride M:S again, HE won't even try it. We FINALLY got him to ride Space Mtn and he LOVED it. He won't try ToT and I LOVE that ride. We have to use baby swap and Connor gets to ride it twice. I think Colton rode just about everything at US/IOA, I can't think of one he didn't.

Everyone have a great time in NYC!! I'll be thinking of you! It looks like the weather should be perfect!

Got a Crystal Ball, Michele ? ;)
It's 10 days til we go to New York.
But I just checked the weather for Boston for the next six days: Sunny and temps of up to 26°C/79°F  :cool1:

As for Amazing race that entire episode after they left NYC was right around me. Washington Crossing and Philly are less than 2 hours away, Mt Joy and Lancaster are only 20 minutes from me. I found it boring to watch. I think part of the fun is watching how people work to get the flights at the airport, the lack of communication in foreign countries and of course the taxis rides. All of those things can make or break the race for you. Yes you can get lost driving but at least when you ask for directions you can communicate where you need to go. Looks like next week is a civil war country so wonder if we are still in PA @ Gettysburg or did we drive to Virginia as there are alot of civil war sites there. However, from the size of the reenactment I think it is PA.

Fiona--- I sending you a pm.

Nancy

hhhmmm......why did I think you were coming THIS weekend? I guess I have mommy brain...lack of sleep and full of useless information! Well, the weather IS suppose tp be nice this weekend, COME EARLY!

Nancy, unfortunately I gave up on Lost - kind of lost the thread but I am sure they will repeat blocks of it and I will try again. Looking forward to seeing Desperate Housewives once it starts again here. Still waiting for West Wing to start again - we have still season 6 to see although I have ordered the DVD boxset.
We both enjoy Universal apart from the walk from the carpark - that put Mum off so as AP holders we do the valet parking for $8 a day - at least then I get to go to the parks! Mythos, the restaurant cannot be beat.

That's so funny because I was thinking the same thing about the NYC portion....the spot where they had hot dog vendor was just 2 blocks from where we lived for the first 8 years of our marriage; the GW bridge is walking distance form the neighborhood where I was born, and I used to work with a guy who would dress up as GW for those crossing the Delaware reactments. The funny thing is he was a young black guy and I haven't seen him in over 25 years, but I don't THINK it was the guy they showed! It does look like next week takes place in Gettysburg......probably the area where Pickett's charge took place. I'm actually liking the whole US spin to this edition.....it will be fun to be familar with so many areas and, since they won't have to spend much time at airports, we should see more action footage. I don't have any favorites yet, but got a kick out of the sisters. The one team that really annoys me is the Italian family with the 2 teenage boys....that mom is a piece of work!
Well, it looks like the NYC group is planning to go to a Saturday matinee. John and I will get the tickets at the South Street Seaport on Friday. Does that mean that you won't be coming with us, Nancy? I'm also bummed out about the whole hotel thing. Like you, if I had known it was going to be such a problem, i would have booked much sooner. I think we're planning to do Ellis Island on Sunday....would that work for you?
Rosemary, how many from your group will be going to the theatre? We are going to try to get one of the musical-extravaganza type shows.
Arlene and Andy, are you coming with us?
