....... You never know what they will have available, but it's always best to ask for the best available because these are the unsold tickets and they're usually off to the side since they sell the center first.....
I really wasn't sure if this was true. I always would ask for "best available" just because I thought it would give me a bit of an edge and I do know that the ONE time I didn't ask, we were stuck in the nose bleed section. Paige Davis was starring in Chicago and I felt like I was watching her from another universe! I sorta chalked it up to being a full show but I always did wonder if we would have had better seats if I had said "Best Available".

My crew is not going in on Saturday, Jeanne. I guess I wasn't clear on that. With Wendy coming, we need for her to see other family members and Saturday will be the day for that. But keep us posted with plans because ya never know what may happen with us.

Did not watch AR. Only watched it last season because of Rob and Amber and this time around the family-ties theme didn't appeal to me. However, I probably would have peeked at it, except the show, Firefly, was having an all-day marathon yesterday and we caught the last few episodes. It's a SciFi show with a bit of a western theme thrown in that we loved when it was on the air but then abruptly cancelled. Seems like we weren't the only ones who were disappointed in its cancellation. They made a movie of it which is opening this Friday and -- while we are NOT generally movie goers as a rule --we will be on line to see this movie. Cannot wait.

Maybe knowing now that AR has USA theme, I may watch it next week, especially if it will be in Gettysburg. Rich and I love that place. Which reminds me, sending a PM to PaDisneyFan immediately after this....

Hope Michele's weather prediction for NYC comes true!

Fiona, you and Jim have fun in WDW and have a great birthday! (It is a birthday celebration trip, isn't it?).

I am in the grieving process of the NYC trip and in denial that I won't be coming. So I am waiting for Donald Trump to get back to me about my suite at the Trump Tower of course at no charge. Then from there I can make all other plans. He must be busy with the apprentice that he hasn't gotten back to me.

The reality is that I continue to look at my options. If we just come up for Saturday and have to be back at Penn Station in time to make the 7pm train, I don't think we can make the show. If I don't have time to visit with people why am I coming? If we can find a hotel intown for Sat night and we are leaving Sunday afternoon we won't be able to do Ellis Island so we might do that on Sat while everyone is at the show and meet up later. Or we could sightsee other sights while everyone is at the show. So see I have no answer for the tickets but more than likely we would not be attending the show even if we came on Saturday and stayed over night. I do have until Thursday 10/6 to give you a definite answer? I continue to review hotel situation at least 2xday. I just thought this would be a slam dunk get train ticket, get hotel, visit and come back. It is easier making plans to go to WDW.

Rosemary--- Read your pm, will respond later tonight. Heading off to the gym.

Nancy

Nancy:No problem, just let me know by Thursday cuz we're leaving early Friday morning. If the matinee starts at 2pm, we will be out around 5pm. If your train leaves from Penn Station, that makes it kinda tight for dinner. I frequently get offers from the NY Times about discounted theatre tickets that can be preordered. I keep hoping something will come up during the next few days. That way we can go to an evening performance and have the rest of the day free to spend with you and Norm. Keep your fingers crossed. BTW, Donald isn't going to offer you anything.......he remembers what you said about his hair!

Fiona, you and Jim have fun in WDW and have a great birthday! (It is a birthday celebration trip, isn't it?).

Thanks. This trip is the Free Dining Trip. The Big Birthday Trip is in December.

I'm still not packed yet although I have made substantial inroads in the Planning and Co-Ordinating of Exactly What to Take, Maybe.

Today, I at least have a Fairly Good Idea about what I may be taking, and I made a list:

1) Clothes.
2) Soap.
3) Shampoo.

Now all I have to do is to fine tune the list.

I've also colour co-ordinated my socks and my underwear. They look pretty lined up on the dresser.

I am, however, almost exhausted from staying up looking for lost items, either real or perceived to be real, that have to be found within the next 12 seconds or the world as we know it will cease to exist. Yesterday it was 3:00 a.m. when I finally got to bed, and the day before that it was just before supper (which was hot at one time).

I think most men will tell you that the one sentance that will send cold chills up their spine is: "My mother is coming to visit", or "The Hockey game is cancelled.". My worst sentance to hear is: "Help me find...".

Jim.

Jim,
you forgot the two worst sentences:
'Let's go shopping'
'Honey, do I look fat in this?'

Good Morning All,

Well, I got great news at the Ortho Dr's yesterday. According to the MRI results the calf tear appears to be closed/healed. They found 1 tendon that tore all the way to my big toe but causes no problem, so what if I can't wiggle that toe HA HA HA The Achilles Tendon is much better than the physical exams led the Dr's to believe. NO SURGERY !!! They took me out of the non-walking/weight bearing cast and put me in a walking cast. I am still on crutches but can now put some weight on the leg. Hopefully in the next week I will be off the crutches and just in the walking cast. I will have that on for the next 2+-4 weeks, then everything will be checked again...

Yippie!!!

Bye, Kim

Kim--- Glad you got good news from the doctor. Most have been all the pixie dust all of us sent your way.

Jim--- I always enjoy your posts. And Eric is right about those other 2 sentences.

Jeanne- I think Donald forgot about me since he was been busy letting everyone know he is going to be a dad again.

Wendy--- It is hard to catch up with Lost if you miss episodes as so much happens in one show. There are so many minor details that I miss I have to read recaps or follow threads to pick them up. The first episode of Desperate Housewives was really good. Nearly every night I have one show I need to watch.

Fiona and Jim--- Enjoy WDW.

Eric--- Guess you will be packing and getting ready to leave also.

Have safe trips everyone.

Nancy

you forgot the two worst sentences:

Well, maybe for some men, but I don't mind going shopping. She just realizes that I have an extremely low attention span and I'd start doing stuff like wandering out in to the mall to a power tool store, or re-arrange the size markers on the hangers. Passing gas in a line up is a Quick Exit, guaranteed. Loud proclamations about the amount of cellulite on that Spandexed butt is also another Quick Exit. Fake sneezes work well. Loud comments about the 'stench' of someone's perfume also helps a Quick Exit.

The 'makes me look fat' thing isn't any great deal because the answer is always, always no. I much prefer to add stuff to it like "No. But I never noticed how prominent your butt is." Or, "No. But we should stop and get some really nice undergarments because those have shrunk quite a bit because they're so tight they're making handles." Most of these usually get me a six month break from clothes shopping.

Jim.

LOL Jim.
Here's another funny one:

Jim.

You can cross off numbers 2 and 3.......unless you're staying in a hostel!

Still on my hotel quest, there does seem to be some availabilty opening up now if the price would just improve. I thought I had the Hamiton Inn @31st by Penn Station for a semi reasonable fee (who would think that $250 was semi reasonable for a night in a hotel) until I made it for 2 adults then the price went up. What is with that, it was a king size bed. I thought since it was close to Penn Station that would be ok. Will check again tonight. Maybe I just reserve as 1 adult and sneak Norm in.

What a pain in the butt.

Survivor tonight.

Now that sounds like something our military would pay for.

OK Folks,
we're nearly finished with packing and will retire now - I just have to program our DVR for our two weeks of absence and then we'll get some Zs.
We'll check the thread tomorrow for one last time before leaving.

G'Nite :wave2:

...... Rosemary, I promise gulliver will look bigger by cookie night,.....
Rich was afraid you were going to have to cancel Cookie night this year. Looks like it is still on!!! :flower:

Have a safe trip Eric and Anja. Looking forward to seeing you both in NYC with all the rest. (wondering if it will include Arlene and Andy? :confused3 ) (Sorry it may not include Nancy and Norm. :guilty: )

Mike and Kathy should be coming home sooner or later with little Katie. I wonder how she liked ::MickeyMo ??

Ave and Mary - A shout out to you guys!

Nancy - We won't even spend 250 a night for a room in Disney (which must be the reason why we have never stayed at anything fancier than a Moderate!). Keep on trying. You never know!

Jim and Fiona - Sorry I mixed up the birthday and dining trips. In any case (or I should I say - in BOTH cases), have a wonderful trip/s and Jim should be thankful that he will not hear the entire vacation: "Mom is coming to visit!".

Some times I wonder if we are abnormal. You hear all the time of all these family gatherings of aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins and second-nephews once removed, all going to WDW - the happiest place on earth - for one big happy jolly time. I, on the other hand, would rather go with my immediate family (just hubby and son) and nowadays, I really prefer to go just hubby and me! ;) We went April of 2004 with two other family members - mind you JUST two other family members - Richard's brother and sister - and I was PULLING MY HAIR OUT!!!!! God bless those who love their extended families. Don't get me wrong. I love mine too but sometimes - for me - too much togetherness is just too much!!
 :scared1:

Have a great time in New York everyone.

Was really hoping that I wouldn't be staying late at work tonight but alas that wasn't to be. So here I am along with just about everyone else! The corporate dept here as some big deal hopefully closing tomorrow and they were here til 10pm last night and expect to be here til midnight tonight -- I will not be here that late!

Back to work so I can get home and finish packing (and check to make sure that Jim has packed more than just underwear!).

Fiona

That last post of mine was 4,150!!!

But that's not why I'm posting now. I keep forgetting to check when I post to see what my email notification is because I still am not getting any since the time I went to edit a post a few days back and made a duplicate post instead.

Sure enough, down below on this page it's marked as "no email notification".

Oh look - I can not subscribe at all, have no email notification or immediate, daily or weekly notifications! How neat is that!! (Dan, I do miss you honey!) Oh no, wait - Dan's expression was "What's UP with that?"

I'm rambling. Mind not me. And I'm not even drinking!

Hi Fiona. Sorry you are stuck at work!

Oh look! Down below on the posting page we can even RATE this thread! Anything from excellent (5) to terrible (1). Hmmmm... what should I choose???
