Results came into today and my classes did well (1 class spectacularly!) so Mum and I are going out to celebrate. Met up with some school colleagues for lunch and they wanted to hear all about the cruise - they are so envious of the fun we have!
I am hoping we still get the free night in Cocoa beach from our TA the night before the cruise otherwise we would be interested in staying at the Radisson - should be able to confirm in a week or two.

Jeanneg....I also peek to see who wins each race since I can't remember but I really don't like who wins AR3...not nice people.

Fiona...be glad that you don't have the repeats of AR....I never remember to tell Sam to set the VCR and it is on every night at 9:00 p.m. even weekends and the shows repeat at 12 midnight (I'm never up that late)--even though I've already seen them, I still like watching them again and it will make the time go faster until the next Amazing Race.

I got my boss at a weak moment and asked for Friday and Monday to give me a long weekend....he wanted to know if I was going somewhere....ah...no...I didn't know that I had to account for why I want a day off!!

Sam's cousin is in for the summer...she lives in Florida year round but just purchased a summer cottage last year at a local lake that is mostly inhabited by Jewish families from New York and New Jersey (alot of Orthodox families). Bettye has three sons--one who is extremely religious, one who is fairly religious and one who doesn't practice anything..Stuart is the utlra religious one and it is always very interesting when we visit and he and his family are there..I honestly think that this is why she bought the cottage at this particular lake so Stuart would feel comfortable....she paid over $100,000 for this cottage and this was a pretty reasonable price (or so she says)....it needs tons of work which is hard to do when you're in Florida and your contractor is in PA. She is trying to get some of it done while they are in town and they will go back to Florida after the Jewish New Year so we are going to go out to dinner with them on Friday night. I am pretty close to his cousin although we never got to see them much when they spent their time mostly in Florida so this is nice to spend time with them. Bettye is in her 60's and there hasn't been another girl born in their family till Sarah came along....but there have been a few since then. We kid Bettye that it was the 50 year drought and Sarah broke it!! Sam only wanted a girl and I honestly thought that we didn't stand a chance....oh well you just never know!!

what subjects do you teach?

We liked staying at the Radisson last year. We didn't use the shuttle as we had that wounderful Canadian Courtesy Commuter
But it shouldn't be a problem taking a taxi from the hotel to the port to beat the hotel shuttle.

And not to forget:
The Germs will stay with Cruisetoberfest IV - I'm even thinking about putting an Oath of Fealty on the next List i.e.
I solemly swear that I will never even contemplate changing my ressie or I will be punished with making my next three cruises on the Big Red Boat

I had an unexpected Tim Horton's coffee this afternoon.

I've been listening to my disco music/Motley Crue/Pink Floyd cd since I got home.

The software program that I had to write today is done and it compiled and ran the first time without any errors, which means I can have my afternoon nap and get paid for it.

I've got Hamburger Helper on the supper menu tonight.

"Someone" will be buying me another Tim Horton's coffee on the way home from a business thingie tonight.

Not every day is perfect, but today comes pretty close.

Just thought that I'd share with those who still haven't quite achieved Nirvana.

MaryJo--- I did find out by accident who won AR3 but I don't know who the final 3 are so will still have some sort of surprise at the end. Enjoy your long weekend.

Jean--- My son is looking at a possible internship for the spring semester in Charlotte with some professional basketball team. He has the information now if he acts on it is another story. Lets hope this son doesn't drag his feet like DS#1 did with getting his internship.

I take it you weren't in Rockin' Bar D that lovely evening when the VERY intoxicated young lady next to us threw a hissy fit when the DJ couldn't find the disc to "Dancin Queen". Much later in the evening he found it and when she got up to "sing" (and trust me, I am being generous with that word!) most of us got up and walked out.....which got her really infuriated! That said, I love the real ABBA music!

Nearly forgot to mention:
Today we got a special treat from my company. Jeppesen gave Harrison Ford (Yes, Han Solo!!) a specially tailored chart with all fixes and waypoints named after milestones of his career in Hollywood. Today everyone received a special print of that chart. I've been studying it now for more than an hour and I'm still laughing.
