No problem picking your stateroom# from the thread, Nancy - But that weight things is another issue ;)

We transferred our ressie to Dreams and saved another $50. Perhaps we may have saved more with another TA, but I think they deserve our business for providing us with the Boards.

We may have found a great opportunity to catch some sun & do some dives in '05: Our gym is offering a 10-day trip to Thailand next summer at only €789 with extension days as low as €29. I just contacted the TA they're partnering with and hope to get an info from them soon. Asia has not been on our list of desired destinations so far, but at a great price like this it is worth thinking about.

Eric - That sounds like a great deal to go to Thailand. Haven't been to Asia but have friends who have and they have loved it.

Am going into vacation withdrawal I think -- back less than a week and need something to plan or look forward to. I'd take a huge lottery win! My ex-MIL sent my DS a postcard from Turkey. She remarried well and her one problem now is staying in Canada for 183 days of the year so that she won't have a tax problem or lose her free medical care. I could deal with these problems I think.

Back to work.

Take care everyone.

Fiona

Always takes me so long to catch up if I don't check these boards daily!!!

I finally did something so bad to the computer at home that in the fragile state it was already in, it simply had enough. It does nothing now, but oddly enough, Tim was able to get it working enough to be able to play one of his beloved games.....His solution to fixing the computer??? Calling Dell and buying a new one! I do wonder if he has another job I don't know about sometimes! He forgets we work for the county!

I am now at the public library using the internet until that UPS man comes to our door with a large box! I have to admit, it will be nice to finally have a normal working computer again!

I have to ask, who took all the cat 6's that are priced at 7's? Peter and Jen, Tracy and Bill and who else???

Lastly, we booked a 4-night cruise for 9/25/05 to use our 25% coupon that we got for the 9/25 this year....they had so many restrictions on it, but for just under $790, it will be a nice mini trip, I guess. Hopefully we'll get a dive in at Nassau, but I have to admit, we did that itinerary once, and it was enough....but I feel like I need to use that coupon, and it is a good rate.

We still have tons of pictures left on our water cameras and on my camera (the old fashioned film kind!) that I just want to waste to go get developed! The dogs will tire of posing soon, so I may have to find other subjects. The cat is next, I guess.

Well, my time limit on this computer is nearly up, so I gotta check out some other things with in my hour limit here!

Got your PM, Laura. Thanks so much! Don't know why my AAA TA said they were giving only $50 in '04 & '05 when we got $150 from them this year -- altho we got that after DCL made the soda onboard free. Also, don't know why our TA can't quote us a 2006 price and everyone else can. Thanks again.

Jeanneg -- sent you a PM.

Jill: we've got the 3rd one....we booked ours right after Tracy and Bill booked theirs. It's 7120, which is actually a Cat5 priced as a Cat7. That just leaves 7620 and I think one of us has it. They actually offered it to Nancy, but she genuinely prefers the privacy of a true NV and took that instead.

I guess most of you already sent their info as the mailbox is pretty full, but nevertheless I want to take the opportunity for a last reminder: The deadline is 6pm CET/Noon EST, but as I will probably have to work for at least two hours on The List later mails may well be incorporated.

Does he get that from his mother's side or his father's????
Inquiring minds!

Can you scan your coupon to show us what they look like? I am still waiting for mine for the 9/4 from All Seasons. Thanks!

Jill-- You and I were in the same boat. My computer died the Friday we were leaving. Ordered a new one from Dell on this past Sat and got it today. That was really fast 5 days. I was even able to put it all together and get the internet hooked up. Plus the UPS man brought my package that I had shipped from WDW with a craft item we bought at the Food and Wine Festival. Jill, I think men are either fixer upppers or just get a new one type. Mine falls into just get a new one the majority of the time.

Looks like transfering to AAA is getting popular. Plus we now seem to be getting an additional bonus with the 10% discounts at CC and the gift shops.

Jeanne-- I will pm you my reservation #.

Jean--- I hope you can get the AAA reservation worked out to get the $150.

Fionna--- Once your DS starts driving, will you car insurance soar like it does in the US.

Rae--- I hope I get to meet you on this cruise. When you cruised with us in 2002, I never did get to meet you.

Now that I have my new computer, I will have to work on getting those digital pictures posted. I want to send them to CVS online to get developed but couldn't seem to do that with my old computer. Hopefully, can figure it out now.

Eric--- We are also back at the gym working off those extra pounds we found while on vacation. While on the cruise we did manage to go 4 times and then I went 2x at WDW since CSR has a gym. Plus we did the stairs. Being on Deck 6 makes us midway, 3 up or 3 down to most of the activites and food.

I am so happy that the red socks won!!!!!!! I am do not like the Yankess

I checked out the Thailand-offer and it seems to be very reasonable. A coworker of mine is married to a Thai and another one has vacationed there many times, and they both say that it is a great price. So we'll probably do it. But after checking out the climate tables for Thailand and talking to them we will go in March/April, because the rainy season starts in May.
I guess we'll have to do Vienna in the summer then.
During lunchbreak I bought some guidebooks on Vienna and Thailand in our book-club and over the weekend we'll start the planning :smooth:
Thailand will be so risiculously cheap that we'll probably do another beach-vacation in September/October - Probably on the Canary Islands.

Nancy,
we only went to the gym twice while on the ship, but the dive-excursion was very exhausting too.
But since we've returned to Germany we're back to our old five times a week routine.
Yesterday we did Body Pump and now we're aching all over once more :p No pain-No gain:teeth:
Weather over here has taken a turn to wonderful late-summer days although we're well into the autumn: Temps in the upper 60ies with blue skies. I think we will do some runner along the riverbamks tomorrow - Checking out my new runner's GPS.

Nancy and Eric: Ha-ha, I was better than both of you. I either walked 3 miles around Deck 4 or used the elyptical machine in the gym every day except for the one when we were in Antigua....... and I got lots of other excercise there (consider it crosstraining!)
That said, I was at Nancy's dinner table and she was definitely much more disciplined than I was when it came to pigging out! With all the beignets I plan to consume over the next few days, I'll be ready to be "good" again on Wednesday!

Rae-

I will probably not ever see the coupon....per John at DU, they coupon will be sent to them, as they were the ones our cruise was booked through, and he will apply it when it comes. The $790 is a close estimate to what he figures the final cost will be. I did find out for sure the cruise had to be a new booking booked before 12/04 (I think that was on the letter we received in our stateroom), travel before 10/05, can not be combined with any other offers, and the part I hated the most was the "non transferrable." I understand they don't want you selling them on ebay or handing them out to neighbors, but I couldn't sail with anyone else but Tim....the 4 night would have made a good girls trip for me and my friend!

These college student at the library are cut throat for computers!!! I feel one of them breathing down my back waiting for this work station.....I guess it is slowly coming up on mid terms or finals.....

Work is crazy … they are talking about office closures, AGAIN. But when I got back I got a really great review that will hopefully
make my portfolio look good. They also keep sending me request to see if I would take a retirement – but I need to stay working a little longer (another 2 years +/-) so I can be assured cruise money for years to come!

Where Art works they are talking strike for the School Support Staff. Such a shame that the wage scale is so low for what work they are expected to do. Example, he does plumbing and electrical, etc, etc, etc and they only want to pay the guys the amount you would pay a paper delivery person! OK, let's be honest, when was the last time you were able to get a pumber and only had to pay him less than $10 an hour?

Also … some sad news – remember Monica Monkey, the stuffed animal that I dressed up and took around the ship. The really nice guy that owns the shop that does the kids parties and the animals … right next to my office … well they found him dead in bed. He was only 38 years old. His wife and 2 small kids were away visiting her family and he was home alone. I feel so bad about that cause he was looking forward to the pictures I promised him from the cruise.

Well gotta run, work is calling AGAIN.

Not sure if anyone had read the thread I posted about HAPPY LIMO....well if you did I received a letter today from Brent Peters and am glad to see that he agreed with my complaint...

Here's a copy of it

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Richards,

Please accept our apologies for the service you received from our company on your recent trip to Orlando. This is not the type of service we offer to our passengers. We do thank you for bringing this problem to our attention.

We do apologize for the delayed response to this issue and do want you to know that this was not simply swept under the rug. I was out of the office for an emergency surgery and unable to respond until now.

We have suspended that driver for 3 days without pay, and he will be put on 90 days probation. We have also reprimanded him for the untidiness of his vehicle. If we do receive further complaints about that driver, he will be terminated.

We will refund your round trip to you at once. ($199.50) Please simply let us know if you would prefer a check sent to you, or a credit to the visa we have on file. (last 4 digits XXXX) If you would like a check mailed to you, please provide a mailing address.

We also would like to offer you a complimentary round trip transfer in a sedan during your next visit to Orlando. Simply refer to code XXXXXXXXX to make your next booking with us.

Again, we do apologize for this mishap. Please let us know if you have any further questions, concerns, or feedback. It is only through feedback from our clients that we are able to address such issues.
