Hi Peter,

We got the same phone call Sunday Night from the Ron Jon Resort, asking the same things they asked you, and also could they make any dinner reservations for us, or have directions ready for any place we needed to go...

Pretty nice service so far...

Bye, Kim

Hi there folks!

We also have the REAS. We're doing our massages followed by Palo brunch on Sunday morning... (A nice way to start the week and get us in the MOOOOOD :)) I'm so looking forward to a relaxing vacation. I can't wait.
I don't mind a "mystery cruise", just hope our stops are tropical.

To the Jeanneg and Mary....wow, you have had so much rain this season. It seems almost every named storm so far has affected the Carolinas in some way. We've had light to moderate showers, but nothing too bad. I'm alittle concerned about Frances. That one seems to be keeping its west ward track and they predict (at this time), it could affect the central Carolinas (us?) I was here for Floyd, but not Hugo, however, when Floyd was on its way, everyone was preparing. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, since they're so unpredictable.

Eric, thanks for the lists! Looks good!

Unfortunately, we won't make it to the beach party, we'll still be driving down. We would love to have met the famous Shirley. She sounds like a wonderful person. We'll see you at the terminal:)

Well, can't believe how quickly its coming up.
Regards,
Laura

Welcome back Nancy!:bounce: SO GLAD you are feeling better.

Can't believe it's almost Sept! :smooth:

Things have gotten way too busy at job #2. I got a call from my boss today. She wants me to work every Sat. and Sun in Sept. I told her I could do it up till the weekend that Eric and Anja arrive. Which means, I will be working 28 days straight. I will REALLY be ready for this cruise.
There is such a nursing shortage here in NW FL. You would think that would translate into better pay, but for some reason it doesn't.

DH bought a new "used" BC on ebay! (BC is a divers vest for those of you who may not know) He is now an ebay fan!

Got to get dinner on the table, the kids want to eat.

Later, Avé

Peter-
Glad you contacted them. I was going to send off an email to them after work today....looks like you got a not so good response....do you think bullying would work on the five?

Just out of curiousity, all the Cruisetober-festers are booked on the NON Disney Eco tour, right? There is another DCL sponsored excursion....

It is funny, the 9/25 cruise thread is just starting to pick up....it is so funny how active this thread is, and how non-active the 9/25 has been! But we'll be doing a Radisson meet with a few of those folks...should be fun. But , no phone call from the Radisson to see if all was OK!

One last bit of sort of bad news, my darling DH is yet to pass his scuba cert. Oddly enough that jerk of an instructor has sold his shop and "retired" since that horrible weekend in Utah, but has been very helpful and flexible in working with Tim to get passed. Perhaps he was simply burnt on the business...Well, the ONLY thing Tim needs to do is take his mask off and clear it, and he will be done....the question is, will he do it? So, I may be needing a dive buddy! (but lets just hope he passes!) He did it in the pool at least 10 times when we practiced on our own last month. Cross your fingers!

Hey!!! This is our first cruise ever. We are going to experience some serious family bonding (or family bondage as we call it). I am going with my husband, two boys 4 and 7 and my parents. All of us are first timer cruzers. We are excited about Antigua and Castaway Cay. We've been to St. Thomas but had a bad experience with tan accellerator (Pam cooking spray we now call it) We're planning of packing plenty of scum screen (my 4 year old calls it) Anybody else out their from Tennessee????

:cool1: :teacher: :rockband: :scratchin

Jill, yes we are on the NON-Disney Eco trip.
At this point I am so hurricaine weary, I'm not counting on anything beyond getting on board and going somewhere! I hate to wish bad weather on others, but I really hope Frances misses S.C. If it heads our way we will be paying Ave and her family a visit:earseek: Our rule is we leave for anything over a catagory 2.

Jill, I hope Tim gets his certification!

Eric, good news on the rent payment. Hang on to as much $, for as long as you can!!

twhipple and Mike, thanks for the links to the web cams.:bounce:

Boy have you guys been busy. We've spent the last week and weekend moving. I keep saying I'm going to just abandon everything and start over, but alas, I'm too attached to "everything".

Those of you who know George Carlin's skit about "Stuff", think of that and then you'll have a pretty good image of what I've been going through.

Eric, got the list and thank you, sent you a pm with state room number in case there's an Ultimate List.

For formal nite, we three will all be wearing evening gowns in various shades of purple (my favorite color). So we'll add a splash of color amongst all that black.

PADISNEY, glad you're feeling better and sending more pixie dust for your continued recovery.

Kim -- I called DCL today and you and Ciara are booked for 2:15 glass bottom boat tour. Thank you soooooo much again.

Eric, sorry to hear about your rent increase but I feel you pain, went from paying 1,000/mth to $1600/mth.

Hoping to get our docs soon, so we can join BigRed1 in doing the doc dance.

I would really love welcome you aboard, but unfortunately we already have 25 people from Tennessee in or group. So if you want to join us, you'd better move to California or so
:jester:
Just kidding, welcome aboard ::yes::
We really have 25 people from Tennessee in our group - and another 103 from other states/countries. If you want to see who's cruising with you, please send me the follwing info by using the link in my signature:
-First name, age, profession of all adults
-First name, age of all kids
-DIS-name
-Email
-Stateroom
-Seating session for dinner (Main or Late)
-Special occasion to be celebrated during cruise (Birthday, Anniversary, etc)
-Place you spend the night at before the cruise
I'll send you a copy of the List as soon as I have received your info, which will then be incorporated in the Ultimate Edition.

To everyone:
I'll surely do an Ulimate Edition of the List, I always planned to. But knowing human behaviour I had to set an early deadline to make everyone send his/her info on time;) Four years of doing those lists teaches you all tricks - LOL.
Deadline for the ULTIMATE EDITION is 09/08/04 noon EST

Welcome Imsproutingears! Glad to have you with us. :bounce: If you have a few hours to kill:p you should look over the thread as it has tons of info. Where are you staying the night before we sail? A bunch of us will be in the port area (The Radisson and Ron Jon's Resort) on Friday night.

ciadriamom...I love that George Carlin skit!

Still no docs here:(

No docts here yet but that's ok. Jim and I are ok with a mystery cruise as long as we get there. He took his suit pants into the tailor's so they will be ready for eating on the cruise.

DS arrived home Sunday night. We were out for dinner and opened the door and knew immediately that he was home -- his 'stuff' is all over the front hall. We also have MRE's (Meals ready to eat) in the kitchen so if they are still there at the time of cruising we may take them with us. :p

Hopefully Frances won't hit anywhere and will just turn around and go back out to sea.

Nancy -- glad that you are feeling better. My Dad had the same problem about 1.5 years ago. He finally had to have it operated on though as the steriod shots did nothing for him. He was miserable for about 6 months. He's now waiting for a hip replacement which he should have in the fall. He didn't want it this summer as he still wanted to play golf (why I don't know but he did).

Must get ready for work -- can't wait for the weekend since it's a long one although it's hard to believe that it's Labour Day already.

Take care everyone.

Fiona

Jim is going to eat his pants:confused: And shouldn't he then better bring them to a chef? :jester:

It was early. I was obviously

Meant to say that once the pants are let out Jim will be ready to eat himself silly for a week no matter where we might end up.

Just pulling your leg, Fiona :p
We found another nice gift for you today ::yes::

Anja & I completed some more steps towards status 'Ready for travel':
-We had our second annual check at our dentist's plus Shine&Polish from our dental hygienist.
-We picked up $500 cash at our bank. No bills larger than a Twenty, they even had some $1-bills (Non-consecutive numbers, of course;) )
-We bought the last gifts, which were left on our shopping list. I just hope the US Customs accept everything at the values we state;) There's a allowance of $100 per person only, so we have to use some white lies:p

Now the only thing left is the Schnaps. We went for grocery shopping yesterday, but somehow forgot to by the Schnaps. You must know that buying liquor in Germany is as simple as buying ammo in the USA:jester: You get it in every supermarket. I'll have to do it next Saturday.

On Friday we'll have our annual company outing. Although it is still a secret to most of our employees I already know what's up. I was the head of the volunteer coordination team for many years and still have my connection;)
We're doing a timetravel back into the dark medieval years!! We rented a castle about 20 miles south of Frankfurt and will feast and celebrate there. You won't believe me, but the castle's name is Burg Frankenstein NO KIDDING!! This is the real thing, it was named Frankenstein in medieval times. Nowadays it used for company outings, horror parties, and Halloween is kind of high-season for them. I'll give you a report on Saturday. That is, if I'm able to - The beer is on our CEO:crazy: He already prepared himself for a stiff bill:cool1: :drinking1

let out Jim will be ready to eat himself silly for a week no matter where we might end up.

Now wait a minute. If The Shrink Fairy hadn't come around in the middle of the night and brutally shrunk the pants this wouldn't have been a topic of conversation. Blame The Shrink Fairy and not me.

I'm pleased to report that we both have a rather large spiral bound workbook that we've started making vacation lists in.

(Yaaaaay!!!)

I've actually used up four pages in the book to plan and co-ordinate the meals for the trip down and back in the van. We spent almost two hours on Saturday working on it. If I hadn't of double spaced everything and wrote IN REALLY LARGE LETTERS I probably would only have used two pages, but that's really beside the point.... the lists have started and I'm so looking forward to making lots more. :) Although come to think of it "Eat at Crackerbarrel" seems to appear fairly often.

Today's task is to expand my own packing list and I've done quite well on it so far:

1) Socks.
2) Underwear.
3) Stuff.
4) The Shrink Fairy shrunk pants.
5) More stuff.

Jim.

OOOPs - Frances is a full-fledge FOUR now:scared1: He'll miss the US Virgins, so after Antigua now two of our Ports-of-Call are safe - Now I'm fearing for CC:( The wind speed has reached 150mph/225kmh with higher gusts. He's now nearly 400 miles wide and moves at 16mph. This means he would cover 50% of Germany and pass it in about a day. I just had another look at the satellite-feed and must say: This is scary storm:earseek:
