Wow I've missed soo much- I think I've caught up.

Good luck to those of you who are moving- you"ll need a cruise to destress:D

Happy Birthday to Jill & Tracy:cake: I love the presents! Eyeore slippers I don't think I've ever seen them, how amazing to get the same presents - they must really know you;)

Thanks Eric for the lists - awesome! Sorry about the rent issue, how great they give newlyweds such a deal for 7 years. Your festival sounded great sorry the weather did not cooperate:umbrella:

All these tropical storms have got to stop - we've had enough already! The weather here is hot & humid, I think swimming will be on the agenda for today:D

On the formal issue - I'm also wearing black, it's going to look like a funeral:p I'll have to look into dh's closet(1/8 of mine) to see what his chooses are, I know he will not be a happy camper. Last year I had to cancel Palo ressies as he refused to dress up:( I also need to find something for ds- yikes I better start working!

Dh's birthday will be our Antigua day - any ideas on what I can do to make it fun fun fun:jester:

Only 33 days till be leave yippie:Pinkbounc

Hi All you lucky souls who are going on the tour of St. Thomas,

Just a quick memo, if anyone wants to back out ( hopefully not) of going on the tour please let me know by September 1, 2004. We have a waiting list so I want to give those people a chance to join in. Right now we are totally full!!!

1) $ 20.00 per person over 2 yrs old.

2) Lunch is at a local pub, no credit cards accepted, cash only...

3) After September 1st if you need to cancel ( hope not) then if we can not fill your space unfortunately you will still need to pay, the bus costs us a lump sum so we have no fidget room...

4) Very important.... be prepared to have a fun day with a great bus load of Disers !!

5) Most important, do not forget your signed permission slip by a parent or legal guardian. If you forget your permission slip you will have to spend the day in your cabin watching re-runs on TV of The Flying Nun....

Bye, Kim

Mary batten down the hatches and hold on tight girl. We are thinking about you.

Did anyone get a final count on the jetty park cookout? Mike

Mike,
the activities List has the latest info on that: 28 - 22 adults & 6 kids

Mary,
we're feeling with you ::yes:: We just checked out the storm on the satellite-feed and seemed to be right over you:( Take good care of my iPod:p
Having ridden out Tropical Storm Harvey on Treasure Island in '99 we know how scary it can be.
But I'm even more in sorrow about Frances, which is said to become a FIVE this afternoon. It's a) headed for Castaway Cay, and b) may become a threat for Florida and/or the Carolinas.

Still here and (I can't belive it) we still have power!!:bounce: 75,00 are now without power and the "emergency" radio station just lost their back up power:earseek:

The worst of the storm passed just about 5 miles north of us, but the rain continues and the road is underwater. I do not think the water will reach the house, but the backyard is a swamp!

Animals and kids going a little stir crazy (hate to think of what we would do without power)

DH has an old TV in the garage with an antena so we are able to get some TV news.

Going to get the laundry finished before we do loose power (I'm sure it's just a matter of time) so we have clean clothes for the week.

Mary,
I have to show you our radio. We'll bring it to the States anyway. It's a battery-powered AM/FM-radio, which even works without batteries. It has a fold-out crank on the front. Turning that crank for a couple of minutes drives a small generator which loads a set of built-in rechargable batteries with enough power to last for about an hour. We usually have it in the bathroom and I use while soaking in the tub. I don't like devices connected to mains near the tub. We also have it for emergencies, although blackout a scarce over here - I haven't experienced one so far. Most power lines and 99% of all telephonlines are underground in Germany, giving good protection even in adverse weather.

But it's good to hear that you're fine!!::yes::

Peter,

That sounds like a great idea to get a cake for Shirley. I have never met her but from everything I've read, seems like the sweetest and nicest person.

I am planning on calling her to order a basket to be in our stateroom for Haley.

:( Our boys lost the battle for the handball-gold against Croatia. So our tally comes 48 medals total, 14 of them Gold. Quite OK for a small country with very harsh doping-controls. The experts' predictions were 13 Gold, 55 total so we ar 'in the plan'

Before watching handball we were in the gym running on the treadmill watching Formula1: Michael Schumacher finished second and gained his 7th World Championship, the fifth consecutive - And I did 11 miles in 100 minutes, Anja did 8.5 in 80 minutes (She was on the sunbed before startimg the workout)

Mary,

Good luck with the storm, hopefully you guys are back to normal soon... It is getting ready to dump rain on us any second, it has been soooo hot the last few days.

Peter,

Great idea for Shirley...

Bye,

Bette & Kim

Mary -- Hope you still have power and that the water doesn't get any higher where you are. Keep us updated if you can (or when you get power back if you lose it -- hope not!)

Eric -- Hope you are wrong about Frances hitting Castaway Cay.

I hope the same, Jeanne - But look at Frances' predicted path:(
We were cheated of going there on our first 3day-cruise in '99 in the aftermath of Floyd, which scored a full hit and even tore off the concrete pier. They had to rebuild the whole infrastructure from scraps.

Girls and Boys we might wind up with a mystery cruise like we did in 2002. Eric are you up to another southern most scavenger hunt? Key West was nice.

A side trip to New Orleans would be ok, Cafe Dumond for beignets and coffee. Crawfish etouffe is nice too.

Mary hope that you got the laundry done and the little ankle bitters fed in case the power goes out. Mike

Eric -- It tore off the concrete pier? Wow -- that was really nasty. Do you have any idea how long it took to rebuild it? A mystery cruise wouldn't be bad, but I would really miss our excursions in Antigua and especially our private tour in St. Thomas. Wonder how Mary is doing? We are having light rain here in Charlotte right now, but it is supposed to get heavy tonight. Shortly after we moved here from Chicago, Charlotte got hit by Hurricane Hugo. First time ever for a hurricane to hit so far inland in NC. It even went up into the mountains. Maybe we were bad luck.

Jeanne,
I think about 6 months or so, but until it was finished they anchored off the island and used shuttle boats to ferry the guests.

Mike,
I insist on our itinerary or I want my money back:jester:
But if we go to KW and do the Scavenger Hunt again, the FFFF either walk or get a deduction from their score:teeth:

New Orleans would be nice, but I'd prefer our scheduled stops - It is pure hell for us Germans if a plan is not adhered to:hyper:

Right now we're watching the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games - The Greeks once again are doing a great job::yes::

Gaston is 'dying' and will be downgraded to a mere Tropical Depression soon. I hope your yard is OK in two weeks again, Mary - We need it for the S'mores and Anja is so looking forward to play with your doggie. Since knowing about yours and Ave's she can't wait to see them - and you & the families of course;)
I hope your dog understands German:jester: But knowing that he's American I guess he's monolingual :teeth:
