Kim.....we are interested in the island tour and shopping and lunch...not too much of a beach person so maybe if he could do the two drop offs at the ship or downtown shopping district (if we tip well enough!!)

Peter...there is shopping right by where the ship docks but I prefer the downtown area where there are neat little shops tucked into small alleyways...nice restaurants here, Del Sol shop, etc.

Peter and Jenn...how is Shelby doing? Did this transfusion take? Doggie kisses (licks) from Precious to Shelby!!

Peter and Jenn - any news on Shelby? Hope she is doing better. Please let us know.

Shelby is home with us tonight... her red blood count still very low normal is 30 she is at 15 she had the second transfussion today and we hope that she will hold her own over the evening , back to Animal hospital in Am , more tests then we will know what

it is time for me to go Good night

Kim, The tour sounds great. But I need to check with the rest of the family. $20 is a great price! We went to Trunk Bay last time we were in St. Thomas. That was on the "Mystery Cruise" LOL What great fun that was with our Dis friends!!! Anyone else remember VondaP?:)

Jen and Peter, How is you dog doing? I hope she can pull through. I can only say I really know how you feel. And you know what? It IS different after you have kids, but different doesn't mean easier.

Soooo.. busy today at work, the pollen is flying and folks are getting sick....good for business.:p Sorry to all you allergy people. Ya gotta love what pays the bills.

Cathy and Art, My condolances to you and your co-workers families.

Peter & Jenn -- So sorry about Shelby. We have been thru the same situation ourselves. The blessing is that she is not suffering any more.

Welcome to the board, Jamie and Alan!

Jenn and Peter...words are so inadequate in this situation and I know exactly how you feel...prayers to you and Jenn. Shelby is out of her misery and is probably romping with my Muffy but it is just a shame that you both have to experience this. Muffy was almost 17 years old and had a tumor behind her eye that was malignant--we had the tumor removed at Cornell Animal Hospital in New York and she lasted around 1 1/2 years after the surgery but then she started to walk into walls, etc. so we had to make the hard decision to put her to sleep. You are in our prayers.

Peter,

I am so sorry to hear about Shelby. I know exactly what you're going through. Two weeks after I had Haley and on Thanksgiving, we had to put our cat (Patches who was my baby) to sleep. She had a blood clot that lodged in her back legs and paralyzed her suddenly. It also made it difficult for her to breathe. I still miss her. Having her for 12 years was definitely not enough for me.

renee:

i had exactly the same thing happen to my cat parrish. he was a loveable black male who was rescued from a diner parking lot.

he had surgery for a blockage and when we got him home he also got a blood clot and was paralyzed. it was the hardest thing for me to put him to sleep but i knew he was better off plus there wasnt much of a choice. i was even more upset because i spent so much on the surgery and all the surgeon said was that he did his best - really not a caring dr. i didnt use him after that.

Peter and Jenn -- So sorry to hear about Shelby. She's with my dogs, Cleo and Freckles. Both were 7 when they were put to sleep and it was so hard. We have a great vet though and with Freckles he actually stayed late until the entire family got to the vet. She had been sick for a while although we didn't realize it with an blood disorder. I took her into the vet Monday morning because she suddenly couldn't stand over the weekend. By lunch time he called and said that there was not a lot that could be done and she was going downhill. I had to pick my DS up at school and tell him and then all of us (my DS, Mom, brother and sil) went to the vet and cried buckets. The vet had had something planned for the afternoon but cancelled so that he could be there. Going home without her was so hard. We actually waited 18 months before getting Lily, our present dog.
