This might seem like an unusual request, but I am trying to visualize how big DD will be and what she will be able to do when we go to WDW in the fall. We will be there for her first birthday. So, do any of you have pictures of your 1 year olds at WDW that you are willing to post? Thanks :)

I don't have any pictures at this moment, but it's a great time to take them to Disney.

My little one is almost 2 1/2, and we've gone multiple times since she was 5 months old.

She does almost all of the rides, and she was less scared then on rides like Haunted Mansion and Snow White. She also LOVED Buzz. She LOVES the characters, but back then was pretty scared of some of the costumed ones. We're big on Princesses and Mickey Mouse at this time, but she'll go up and hug some of the others now.

I'll try to remember to post some pictures of her tonight, I'm at work right now.

My friends are going in 2 weeks with a 1 year old, and other than rollercoasters, I'm wondering what rides they won't be able to take her on. I know they can do the kid swap on those, but I wan to give them a good idea. For example, at EPCOT, I know she can't go on Soarin, Mission Space or Test Track. Anything else there? How about in AK? EE, DInosaur and Primevil Whirl?

I'm always happy to post pics of my baby! Here's her first (terrifying) character meal for her first birthday. Just a note, she is a little small for a 1 year old because she was a preemie... but she's caught up pretty well.

They are almost 7 years apart. We waited, then had a lot of fertility problems. So we ended up with a large age difference but it actually works out nice. Our older DD is a huge help with the baby.

Thanks for posting this, I was just coming over to find out what to expect with a 1 y.o. at WDW. My niece will be 1 year and 2 weeks on the day we leave for her first trip. Fortunately with 7 adults, swapping and such will be a piece of cake.

:) Our 2 girls are also almost 7 years apart. Emily was very upset at first but now that Avery is here, she couldn't imagine not having a baby sister. LOL :cloud9:

:) Avery was 3 months old during our last trip and will be about 15 months on our next trip so I am also interested in this information too. :wizard:

I don't have any pictures downloaded and can't scan them right now but I've been several times with babies/small children.

My ds5 was 6 months old on his first trip. He rode/saw everything with us that didn't have a height restriction. He loved it -- he loved watching everything and everyone. Disney is such a bright, active place that children love. He wasn't a bit afraid of the characters. Some of the darker shows frightened him but he would just put his face into our chest and usually go to sleep.

My dd3 celebrated her first birthday at Disney. She was terrified of the characters but loved everything else. Was a little more difficult because she had just learned to walk and was not happy in the stroller -- she wanted to walk everywhere.

Ds was 5 and dd was 3 on our last trip. This was a wonderful age for both of them. They had so much fun. Dd3 is still singing It's A Small World and begs to go back to Disney World. I am currently unemployed and she tells me I need to get a job so she can go to Disney World.

I'm thinking she might not enjoy the costumed characters too much, but we'll see. We're taking her to 1900 Park Faire for her birthday, and since those are face characters it should be better. We're also planning to go to Chef Mickey's (cause I want to try it) and I'm a little nervous about how she will react to that.

We took our youngest on her first Disney trip at 4 months, she's gone many times since then. She's always been able to go on some rides. She loves Pirates, Pooh, Peter Pan, Small World, Haunted Mansion and pretty much anything without a height restriction. My older DD hasn't had to suffer. I'd take a break to nurse or DH would change a diaper while the other went on a ride the baby couldn't do... then we'd use baby swap and DD could ride it again! There really is a lot you can do at all the parks with a baby.

While every kid is different ... Julie has always been fantastic with Mickey, Goofy and Pluto. All at Chef Mickey's. She doesn't notice a difference between Mickey and Minnie, she loves them both and they're both called Mickey.

You know ... we've been so often I'd forgotten about this, but she was a year old when we went and actually went to Magic Kingdom for EMH. Anyways, we were sitting in Fantasy Land, and we just happened to be right spot, where all the characters were coming in and out. She was probably about 14 months, actually. She started screaming, but with excitment. MAMA, MEME!!!! GOOPY!!! POOTOE!!!! She was thrilled! Mickey and Minnie were actually skipping holding hands, and I thought my girl was going to have a heart attack. Great moment, and there's something about the "main" characters that all kids love. Just work on your little one on those characters and she'll love them.

Good luck!

At 13 months our daughter went on every ride that did not have a height restriction. She actually napped during a lot of the rides that were dark inside. She liked the costumed characters. Her favorite rides were Dumbo & the Tea Cups.

We took DD in February and she was almost 11 months old. She had a blast!!! We took her on everything without a restriction. She didn't even mind POC which I thought might be a little scary. She also loved the characters, especially Mickey and Minnie. Here are 2 pics from our trip so that you can see her size. I'm sure you will have a terrific time! We had such a good time that we joined DVC and are heading back in October!

this is cool getting a visulization on how big my lil' harlee will be when we head down in January. She'll be a couple weeks shy of a year old....and i'll be a couple weeks shy of my 21st bday.

My DD was 17 months old when we went in January. (Her older sister turned 5 while we were there.) She surprised us by having tons of fun! She even liked the masked characters - she liked to touch their noses, feed them, and kiss them.

You really are the mama to 2 princesses! The last picture of them asleep in the stroller made me all teary eyed, it's so sweet. I can't wait until my littlest is big enough to really enjoy it all.

we took our 3 and 1 year olds and had a fantastic time! the 1 year old liked cinderellabration, the characters and the water jets. she Loved getting her first haircut and ears at mickeys barber shop. the pooh ride and dumbo and carousel. loved the shows, like lion king at animal kingdom....make sure to take tabletoppers and disposable bibs...fruit cups or dried fruit and LOTS OF SIPPY CUPS. (the ones they sell at wdw are liek $7 do not have filters so they leak all over) and ours were lost at a rate of one a day flying out of the stroller. we had the BEST TIME!!! perfect age if you ask me. they are happy to do EVERYTHING and not arguing w/ siblings or opinionate yet :)
bugs life or anything really loud like that is too scary.
