First, I would like to thank all you great dineyheads for all the help you have given my family and myself over the last few months.:D You have helped me turn my 3 day disney stay into an 8 day Disney adventure.:earseek:
Now the question; We will be arriving in fla on saturday, and our res, isn't till sunday. I have a aaa diamond parking pass and would like to take the kids on the monorail ride on sat. nite.::yes::
Is this possible without using our php's?

Now the concern, Ihave been watching the weather forecasts for orlando and it looks like rain for all of our stay, I have heard that it rains for short periods during the afternoon at WDW. Do I need to worry? this my 4th time at the world but it is my families 1st, and my dw was a Hard sell on this trip and I would like to make it a regular one.

Again; a hearty THANKS to every one!

P.S. I'M Dancin!!!!!

.........

Yes. You do not need to use a day of admission to take a ride on the monorail. The loop from the TTc to EPCOT and back is one of my favorites. We also like to take the resort loop (as opposed to the TTC-MK express) when we're not in a hurry. It's especially fun to ride through the Contemporary.

Best wishes -

On your weather concern, I wouldn't worry about it. The typical summer weather pattern in Florida in the summer is mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s with brief (15-30 minutes) afternoon showers. It's easy enough to duck into a ride, show or shop to avoid these quick showers.

Even if you end up with a more consistent rain, you can still have a great time as long as your family is prepared and keeps a positive attitude. I was at Disney during a stationary tropical storm in early August a few years ago. We put on billed caps under our ponchos and went to the parks everyday. Nearly all the attractions were still open and crowds were much lighter. We even went to Blizzard Beach one day in the rain (rained off and on all day, but was very warm). It wasn't a thunderstorm so the slides were still open and we had the park almost to ourselves. Some of my family's best Disney memories!

Only park I would avoid in a steady rain is Islands of Adventure. We found that nearly all the rides were closed and even a lot of the shops and restaurants closed up early.

We just returned on Monday from our June 5-14th visit and there was some rain each day we were there. It was usually in the late afternoon or evening. Somehow we avoided the heaviest downpours since it was those days that we were not at the parks or in our hotel room for a rest. We carried umbrellas and rain ponchos with us everywhere although we never used them. I did use the stroller raincover, afraid that when we were on a ride or eating, there would be a heavy downpour and the stroller would be soaked. We did forget to take a small towel with us to the parks - that would have been useful to wipe off wet benches or ride seats after the rain.

You will have to pay to park...Now that being said...Why don't you make a ressie at one of the monorail resorts for Dinner or desrt and park there for free and then take the monorail. You get to park for a few hours and see a great resort. We did desert at the Poly and took the Monorail our first night. Very nice.

I think other people have been able to avoid a parking charge if they say they are going to visit a resort. Many people like to visit a resort to see if they might like to stay there on a future stay. You might be issued a pass for a 2 hour time limit, much like someone dining in a restaurant might get.

I have a AAA diamond parking pass doesn't that make parking free?

Unfortunately that doesn't give you free parking, it just gives you better parking closer to the parks (just behind handicapped parking). You still have to pay the usual rate.

parking is only free for resort guests. The AAA pass lets you park in a designated part of the parking lot but you still have to pay. The parking area is close to the entrance of the park.
