1 or 2 DDP's?

Hi,
Likely this is a common Q for you, yet we are a little new to this so thanks for your patience.

Yes, we are returning to WDW!

No longer do we have to simply watch videos on line or those which we took last year. :happytv:

This time, for the first time, we are renting DVC points. We are staying for two weeks, with each week at a different DVC resort and each week being rented from a totally different DVC member.

I understand that we are able to obtain, through the DVC members whose points we are renting, the DDP.

For purposes of the DDP, will we have the option to have a different DDP each week? :confused3 For example, having the standard DDP for a full 14 days it a bit much $$ and consumption wise for us.

Will we be able to have say the standard DDP for week 1's DVC reservation and the Quick Service DDP for week 2's DVC reservation?

Many thanks,
Dan

If they are separate reservations, then yes.

If you segment the reservation you can have a different DDP within the same reservation. Ask the member you are renting from about this if you are interested.

First, TDC Nala, thank you for your clarifications! :woohoo:

Second, could you please clarity the term 'segment the reservation'?

Do you mean staying at different resorts within the same reservation? We are only staying at one resort each week and each week has a different reservation number.

No. It's a little complicated and only DVC reservations can do this. It's more complicated when asking a renter to book this way. Not sure all renters will agree to it.

You could break a week's reservation into "segments" (for example, one three night segment and one four night segment). You would stay in the same room and keep the same reservation number. You could have no dining plan for the first three nights and deluxe dining for the last four nights. The catch is you will have to go back to the front desk when the second segment starts to get new key cards. Take a look at the DVC board; they have a lot of information on segmenting reservations.

Remember that the member you rented from is going to have to add the DDP to the reservation and pay for it; you can't do that because DVC Member Services will only speak to the actual member. You and the member are going to have to work out what procedure you want to use to pay for the dining plan, as you'll either need to give the member your credit card number or a gift card number, or work out another way to reimburse them.

Interesting, this 'segment' procedure.

Thank you very much for the :teacher: lesson. :yay:
Dan
