Our home airline finally released their itineraries for February and beyond, which made us realize we needed to book an extra night for our trip that we hadn't originally planned on.

We just snagged a Sunday night at a Copper Creek studio before moving on to our home resort for the remainder of the trip.

We are new direct DVC owners and haven't experienced most of the deluxes yet, so this will be our first time at CCV...what would you make sure to do with one night's stay there?

We'll probably arrive around 2pm. Checking out the pool is a must for husband, but other than that we are open to anything! 2 adults, no kids.

You could visit the Top of the World Lounge, assuming DVC hasn’t changed admission criteria there by February.

You could view the MK fireworks from the bridge to CR or from the 4th floor observation deck at CR, if not from your room.

You could stroll to and from California Grill or Steakhouse 71 for dinner. If you dine at CG, you can watch the MK fireworks from their deck.

You could ride the boat from CR to WL to FW and back, stopping to explore WL and FW along the way.

You could ride the monorail to Poly and VGF, stopping to explore those resorts.

You could ride the monorail from CR to TTC and transfer to the Epcot monorail - that ride from TTC to and through Epcot is beautiful! Then ride back to TTC and then to CR.

ETA - LOL, just realized my brain was thinking about BLT, not CCV! 🤪

I would say:
  1. Eat at Geyser Point - Best Burger on Property easily
  2. Watch the Electrical Water Pageant
  3. Eat at Storybook Dining with Snow White
  4. Take the Boat/Bus to FW and walk around/bike or any other activity over there (horseback riding, kayaking, canoe, etc)
  5. The Quiet Pool there has free cabanas on first come first serve basis
  6. Whispering Canyon for Breakfast, cheaper (all you care to eat) and has all the fun still of eating there still
  7. Sit around the lobby, lots of hidden nooks and crannies to sit in.
  8. Walk into BRV and look at all the model trains in the building.
These are the things that I feel are more unique feel to CCV/WL/BRV. Sure the EWP is shown all over the MK resorts, but WL viewing is so much better with the more secluded feel.

Thank you! Great tips!

Geyser Point and Territory Lounge are both great. Love the suggestion of finding an alcove to sit in and enjoy the lobby - that's one of my favorite things... I grab a glass of wine and a book and curl up by a fireplace and just soak it all in. I'm not sure if they still have it but at one point you could get a scavenger hunt at the front desk ... was designed for kids but a fun way to get to know the resort. Definitely check out the trains.

I’ve never stayed at CCV/WL but always visit because I love the ambiance of the resort. I enjoy sitting in one of the rocking chairs by the huge rock fireplace or over by the little stream inside the lobby. We like taking the boat from the MK to the WL (red flag boats) early for a drink/snacks at Geyser Point - which is right by the water, or later for dinner at Roaring Forks or Storybook dinning.
There’s also the blue flag boats which run between WL/Ft. Wilderness/Contemporary, I’m not sure if they are back to running all day or still only running after 2 or 3 p.m., but you could take one of the blue flag boats over to Ft. Wilderness & explore, maybe even do Hoop Dee Do, or over to the Contemporary.

Will keep in mind for whenever we eventually get to try out BLT 😉

Geyser Point for sûre! And I agree the pools are great fun. Enjoy that wonderful WL lobby….it is gorgeous and there is a lot to take in. The smaller BRV lobby is charming too.

I would take the watercraft to the CR (or another monorail resort) for lunch or dinner or apps and a drink. Steakhouse 71 would be my pick, but there are lots of great options.

Go into the lobby area of BRV, to get a feel for whether or not you might want to stay there on a future trip.

Bison burger at Geyser Point. It's gotten a bit pricey, but it's sooooo goooood!!!
Make sure to explore the lobby in the BRV building. It's got some fun train stuff.
I think they used to have some sort of scavenger hunt list or a hidden mickey list that you could get from the front desk. We haven't stayed there for awhile so I'm not sure if they still have that.
We like to just go for boat rides. We will just ride around the loop to the CR and FWC.

Enjoy!

They are great suggestions if staying at BLT! 🤣

They use to do that guided tour at 9 am with a Cast member around the Lodge and grounds, not sure if that came back after closure or not. I found that interesting there was about 25 guests the morning I did it some of them repeats they said it was popular.

I agree Geyser Point is a must if it's your first stay.

CCV is our home resort and we stay there at least a couple of times a year. Our favorite evenings start at Territory Lounge for drinks and apps. Then we head to Geyser Point for dinner and to watch the fireworks and the Electric Water Pageant. It doesn't get much better than that! While everyone is correct about the bison burger at GP -it's delicious - I'm partial to their turkey BLT sandwich.

I agree with the others. Just enjoy the ambiance of the resort! Explore the nooks and crannies - there are a lot of little seating areas in the lobby, including around the edges along the higher floors.

My friend and I did one of the scavenger hunts - there was more than one a year or so ago and there still may be. I think every resort is currently doing a hidden character one where you take a photo and the first day you find it, you get a button, and then for the next four days you find it, you get a sticker to add to the button.

The one we did was images of characters with an outline of one of the 13 colonies scattered around the resort. You had to match the character with the colony; the paper to do this was at the front desk. There was a small prize for finishing.

I agree with the pretty much all of the suggestions above.

I will add a Wilderness Lodge treat suggestion for post-meal or relaxing around the resort in the evening. I am not a big sweets person, but I do enjoy their campfire/s'mores inspired treats at Wilderness Lodge.

My personal ranking:
1. Campfire Mousse (Geyser Point)
2. Campfire Cupcake (Roaring Fork)
3. Roaring S'more (Roaring Fork)
