1 hour to AKL from anywhere?

I just got off the phone from WDW dining after making a PS at Boma's for the second weekend in June (dinner) and the CM told me that transportation to Boma's (AKL) will take ~ 1 hour from anywhere in WDW. He said this was written in his notes for Boma's; does anyone have experience on how long are the bus rides from resorts to AKL (with wait included)? We're staying at AKL and woud like to know to plan accordingly. As far as I've been hearing, the buses are slower than monorail and all, but not much more than 15-20 min waits.

Actually....If I were staying on property and relying only upon WDW transportation, I would plan for at least an hour to get *anywhere*.

The real issue is not the wait for the bus. It's being on the bus. Depending on where you are going, traffic, stop lights, stops at other resorts, etc. It could take an hour.

An hour to get somewhere from AKL? Thats completely wrong. The buses from AKL to the parks are direct and non-stop. If you are staying at AKL you might have to wait 10 or 15 minutes for your bus to arrive. but once you are aboard it will take only 5 minutes to get to AK, 12 minutes to Epcot and Studios, and 15 minutes to MK. The only long trip is to Downtown Disney, which will take 20 minutes or more. Generally, the Disney bus system is fast and efficient in getting you to the parks.

It will take longer if you are traveling to/from another resort. The buses do not travel from one resort to another. So going from resort to resort usually requires changing buses at one of the theme parks or DD. This may be what the CM was referring to when he said it could take an hour.

This past August it took us 1 1/2 hour to get to BWV via bus from AKL. We transfered at DD.
