Although we’ll likely have hoppers, which park is doable in only one day? Historically we’ve always spent 2 days at Epcot but given the upcoming construction I’m wondering whether you really need 2 days of Fastpasses there. It would be nice to have a couple opportunities to book FOP but my kids are split on whether they want to spend 2 days at AK (of course they never agree with each other). FWIW, we’ll be staying at BCV with our DS 13 and DD 11. We hope to take advantage of extra magic hours (both morning at AK and evenings at MK and Epcot). What would you do?

Unless you are interested in whatever festival is going on during your visit, I think EPCOT is definitely a 1 day park right now.

I would book the AK fastpasses. If you decide to change to Epcot last minute, you can usually get decent FP there day of.

If you have hoppers and your main concern are the FPs why not set the FPs for this split-day at AK and hop later to Epcot? I mostly go to Epcot because of the dinining and drinking opportunities in WS and the rides itself are doable in a half day or even less with RD. Also I got same day FPs during Spring Break for TT and Soarin in the evening...

I think this will be my strategy. Because we'll be staying at BCV, I figure we can pop over to Epcot at night multiple times if we are so inclined.

I would do AK in the morning with FPs, and then hop to EPCOT later in the afternoon. Getting later FPs for most rides in EPCOT is not too difficult most of the time.
And IMHO, Illuminations is much better than RoL for an evening show.
