I have 2 DDS 2 and 5. We are only spending one of our 7 park days at MGM. We're not park hopping. What are must sees? Will we be able to see it all? It is an EMH evening, but I don't know how much after 9:00 we'll actually make it.

Our favorites are the RNR and TOT. They're so good, I'd do the child swap option and go alone if I had to. Your 5 yr old could probably do TOT if they aren't too scared. We love Fantasmic! You'd probably appreciate the Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney shows too.

I think the little ones would love Playhouse Disney & The Voyage of the Little Mermaid. We never miss Muppetvision, Fantasmic, & if they like Beauty & The Beast the stage show of it is really good. The Great Movie Ride is another one we never miss, but there is an alien scene that may be too intense for the little ones? The Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground is a good place for them to let off steam from being stuck in the stroller.

Since you're with little ones, I'd say: Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Playhouse Disney, Muppetvision and the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground.

I completely agree. My DDs are 4 & 5 and we always set out to do those same attractions. Definately check out HISTK playground. You'll get some great picture opportunities. Just a little heads up...I'm not sure how your children do in the dark but when my daughters were 2&3 we had trouble in Muppetvision and The Little Mermaid--they are both dark and loud!

I have found that you can do everything in MGM in a day. As has been mentioned, with the age of your children, you will not likely be doing the real intense stuff, RiR and ToT, so I think with a bit of planning you will be able to have a real nice relaxed day and get to see all you want to with time for a couple nice meals. Have a great time.

I mostly agree with the above, but Muppets and Mermaid aren't scary. Perhaps a little loud, but not scary. The preshow for the Muppets makes it pretty clear it isn't scary, and most little girls will especially love the Little Mermaid. The giftshop after Little Mermaid is one of the best in the parks, IMHO. It is small, but has some great stuff, and a number of things are pretty reasonable. I also like the Muppet gift store - at the far end, they have an area geared for the 2yr old and under crowd - t-shirts and toys. The Playhouse is lots of fun too. I'm sure I differ from most, but I wasn't all that impressed with Fantasmic. Maybe because it was cold and windy the night I saw it. There are also some fun places to eat at MGM.

We really enjoy Fantasmic- even sat in the rain to wait for it once! DS6 & DD 2 liked it too!

One attraction I didn't see mentioned as I scanned the thread was the Magic of Disney Animation. It is at the end of the same courtyard that Mermaid and Playhouse Disney are in. There is a 10-15 minute show that is real cute, followed by a chance to greet the Incredibles. If your 5yo is like my DS5 this will be a big hit

Would it be possible for me and DD (5yrs) to see Disney Playhouse, Muppets, Beauty and the Beast and Voyage of the Little Mermaid all in the late afternoon/evening? I'd like to go after our PSL at Epcot, so we would probably arrive at MGM between 4 and 4:30. Sorry for jumping on here- it looked like good place to ask the question!

That might be tough. Really it would depend on the crowd that day. Fast passes could all be gone. If I had to say, I'd say probably not, but you certainly could get lucky....

If I ran out of time to do all 4 (Muppets, Mermaid, B and B, Playhouse) after 4pm, does anyone have a suggestion to what order I could try? I know DD (5yrs) would like them all, but since this is my first trip with a child, I'm at a loss for what would be my best plan of action. I'd do it a different day, but we're only there for 3 full days and have other things scheduled, so this was my only time. Thanks in advance for any input!
