Hey all.

On Jan 25th I am travelling to LA for work. Sunday the 26th will obviously be a free dat, and I am looking into going to Disneyland for one day. Will be my 3rd time after 04 and 09 (WDW in 97, 98, 00, 06, 10, 12). So I need a Disney fix 😇

However, I see that next week RoR will open. Do you expect Disneyland to be packed? Would it be wise to go, or perhaps not?
Taking into consideration it can some time for a new shot at it.

Thanks all!

Disneyland would be a bit crowded regardless of ROTR, but don't let that stop you! If this is your chance to go, don't pass it by.

Disneyland is basically always crowded these days. Go anyway! It's worth it. MaxPass is worth the $15 - you can really get a lot done with it.

Disneyland may always be crowded, but it's generally much less crowded during the early winter months. Chilly mornings/evenings, early sunsets (re: short days) and the occasional rain chases away a lot of families. Of course, the discounted SoCal resident passes are likely to generate traffic on weekends, but January will almost unquestionably be the most bearable month...

Definitely go and definitely rope-drop. Even if it gets busy later, you should still have about two hours of "golden time." I go nearly every Sunday and wouldn't let the RoR open dissuade me.

Thanks for the feedback all.
Seems like the weather this weekend will be fine to for the trip...
Now it's just a question if the price (wow!!) for 1 day is actually worth it. But that is something I will have to decide myself. Just scared the heck out of me when I looked them up. Never had to buy a 1-day pass before...

Hi all.

Well.... I went 🤗
As I assumed, I had a major jetlag last Sunday, which woke me up at 02.30h. Took some time, facetimed home, took a shower, watched some live tennis, and at 5 I left the Hyatt Regency LAX.
Went to Ihop and had breakfast, alone. Funny and strange to have a restaurant for yourself.

At 6 I drove to Disneyland, which took about 30 minutes. But at that moment I figured I was way on time for the 8am opening. Boy... was I wrong....

When I got near the parking garage it took 50 minutes before I actually stepped out of the car. Was parked at Cars31I. Should have left the hotel at 4 and gone straight to the park...
The security and tram area was jam packed, so I only got in the park around 8.20h.

Unfortunately I got boarding group 127, so no chance to ride RoR.

But I did have so much fun. Did Jungle Cruise, Indiana Jones, Pirates, Splash, Winney the Pooh, Space Mountain, Star Wars Smugglers Revenge, Train, and several others before moving to DCA. Did all major rides there, and was completely dead tired at 8 pm, so had to leave without fireworks or Fantasmic.

So glad I went.
Will place some pictures of the day.
However, I don't think I will ever go again without my family. Missed them so much, which made my day a little less magical. And no fireworks was also upsetting, but couldn't stay due to fatigue.

I will be back Disneyland!!
