We have one day to spend at WWoHP on our upcoming trip. It will be our first time and we won't have early admission (Staying on site at Disney). My question is, do we take our time and go through how Harry went through (starting at Diagon Ally, getting wand, etc) or go straight to the rides and then come back to the shops, etc? Will we have enough time either way? We want to explore a bit, get a wand and do some spells, etc.

I would say it depends on the day and crowd level. We did WWoHP following Harry's path this past Thursday, a low crowd day, starting around 10:30a and finishing around 4:30p. We had Express Pass, but could have gotten by without it based on observed lines. If you plan to start when the park opens and don't have HHN as a hard stop, you should be able to follow Harry's path and get everything done.

I always follow Harry's path, and I've been there several times over the last couple of years. If you have Express, you'll be fine to follow his path! Have fun!

I'd do a mix. I'd take in some sites but hop on Gringotts pretty quickly if line time looks favorable.

We won't have express either. We are going Sunday Nov 5. I am hoping it won't be too crowded since it's a Food and Wine weekend at Disney and not a HHN day.

That's usually around the time of year I've gone, and I usually try follow Harry's path to an extent...we usually do Diagon Alley first (and hop on Gringotts whenever the line seems lower), explore the shops, do Ollivander's show, do some spells, and head on the Hogwarts Express once we're done to do Hogsmeade. I've never had Express Pass, and I'm sure there's probably a more efficient way to do it in terms of lines, but I've never really had an issue being able to get everything in one day, though I usually spend a whole day on HP, so if you're trying to do it with other parts of the park, you might want to be more cognizant of ride lines.

Depends on when you're going. If the crowds aren't too bad you coudl follow his path and be fine, but if it's busy I'd go straight for the rides then go back to teh shops and stuff.
Also keep in mind that the HP stuff is spread across tow different parks so you will need a park to park ticket to expereince it all as well as ride the Hogwarts Express. (which has a different expereince each direction so be sure to ride it both ways).
