1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

I know its been a while since I posted, but I'm finally able to say that I'm completely caught up! Congrats on making it to the second round of the video contest! Im impressed at your ability to keep going even in the wee hours of the night! I would have been trembling with exhaustion, not to mention sick of the crowds! Wow hunter did get lots of pictures with the ladies! :rotfl:

How wonderful!

Congratulations on round two!!

My dear, you and your family are just adorable and I don't just say that! There are some peeps on here that I would not say the same about, not that I would say anything mean, I just would not encourage them! You would be awesome on the Mom's panel and you are just too cute, so go get 'em!

Congratulations on Round 2. I don't understand why you would have to worry about your looks. It shouldn't matter how you look. It should be about your qualities and the quality of your answers.

Morning all! I had thought that I'd get on the computer this weekend and get replies done and catch up on some of my subscribed threads. But, the weekend was a little on the crappy side (nothing major) and I never got around to it. I was feeling a little down in the dumps this morning until I read a post on Facebook that some people were receiving their Disney Parks Moms Panel Round 2 notifications. Thinking that there was no way that I made it since I hadn't received an email, I fully expected to log on to the site and see the "thanks but no thanks" message. Instead, I found out that I made it to Round 2! To say that I'm excited is an understatement. I have until 11:59 p.m. on Friday to answer the Round 2 questions and I have to submit a video. The video is what I'm worried about since the Bell's Palsy effects my facial features, how I smile, etc. Guess I'll have to practice showing my "good" side. I need to get busy on my work so I'll have time to work on my replies. Just wanted to share my good news.
That's fantastic sending you lots of pixie dust!!!

Sorry about the crappy weekend.

That is awesome abut the Mom's Panel! You'll do great on your video.

You know those days that just seeem to be full of yuck? Well that was how my Saturday evening and Sunday were. Oh well, it could have been worse.

Thanks! I hope that I do.

Congrats on making it to Round 2! Good luck going forward!

Jill in CO

Thanks a bunch!

:cheer2: for round two. I'm sure your video will be great. Sending you some pd pixiedust:.

I'll take every bit of pixie dust that I can get! Thank you!

Oooooh, congrats on making it to round 2! I'm sure you'll make an awesome video!

I appreciate the congrats! Of course, I have to get Hunter involved on the video making process.

Yay, Lisa!! Congratulations on Round 2. I think you should have a great chance, and lots of peeps keeping their fingers crossed! Good luck going forward.

Thank you! I would love love love to make it all the way to the Panel.

Yipee!! They would be CRAZY not to select you!! You would be fantastic! !!

I was so excited to see that I made it to Round 2! I almost fainted!

Good to see you posting again! It's hard to keep up with all my Dising sometimes so I understand.

It's rare that we go to bed before 11 p.m. at home and Florida time is an hour ahead so we are good to go until Midnight at least.

How wonderful!

Congratulations on round two!!

Thank you! I'm excited!

Aww, that's so very sweet of you to say! I really really do appreciate it!

Congrats on round 2. Im sure you will do fab with the video :)

Thanks! I'll get Hunter in on the video action since he's a lot better at it than I am.

Congratulations on Round 2. I don't understand why you would have to worry about your looks. It shouldn't matter how you look. It should be about your qualities and the quality of your answers.

Thank you! I guess that I'm just self conscious of the way the Bell's Palsy has effected my facial features. But, I agree! I think that the panel should be based on a person's quality.

That's fantastic sending you lots of pixie dust!!!

Thanks! I'll gladly take that pixie dust!

I am totally pumped that you have made it to Round 2. And why are you worrying about your Bells Palsy? I would never have noticed it if you had not pointed it out, and since my dh has it as well, you think I would be someone that would pick up on that quickly. Have fun making your video. Can't wait to hear more! :cool1:

Great updates!!!

Hilarious that Hunter took so many pictures with the ladies!! He's too funny!

Can't wait to see what is so electrifying!

Hunter is such a funny guy and is so much fun to be around. The ladies must have caught wind of that.

Great update,Hunter really is quite the man with all his pictures with ladies! :)

He got some other good pics too, I love the Country bears, great for nostalgia

Hope that Hunter does get to go on the Orchestra trip! That is definitely a great price to include tickets and meals, too.

Hunter did a great job documenting what they did while I was going to and from the resort.

It's looking good that the trip is going to happen. He's so excited.

Here I've been feeling so bad for not getting over here more and find you're still on your first day at the parks!! :rotfl2:

You're as bad as me! :rotfl:

I seem to be moving at a snail's pace which is a good thing when somebody's trying to catch up. :rotfl:

I love how all the girls were attracted to Hunter like bees to honey. :goodvibes So cute!

He seems to have that honey scent doesn't he.

And I know just what you mean by having a mom who won't let up. It's in their nature and they don't know how to quit. I have a John and he's so stubborn and independent, he doesn't even like me trying to take care of him when he's sick. But my mom will push and push and push, even if I say something, God love her. :rolleyes2

God love those moms who just can't help themselves but to fuss over our men.

Sounds like MK was more of a headache than fun, especially to be there for 24 hours straight. When I was young like Hunter it would have been ideal, but as I've gotten older, I just don't deal well with huge crowds I can't get away from, from time to time. I have it all mapped out how to get away from them because I have a daughter who needs that and a husband, and I guess in turn I've become the same way over the years. Does that mean I've gotten old? :confused3 :rotfl:

Loving your report so far!! :thumbsup2

The MK was so crowded but it did get better later on in the evening or morning I should say.

Oh no m'am, you ain't old! You're still just what.......29 or is it 30?

Hunter is certainly giving us something to chuckle at with all his posing with the girls. Too cute!

I love the carousel picture he took. Very pretty. And the one from the castle steps (I'm assuming) with the lights on Main Street.

I would say he did a great job of documenting the evening! :thumbsup2

Hunter had all the girls in the palm of his hand that evening!

Yep, those are from the castle steps. He did a great job taking pictures while I was away.

I would love to send my DH off with his camera some time on his own and be surprised by what he came up with. :rotfl2: That looks fun! But it looks like the guys had a good time and I love all the pics with Hunter and the ladies! :thumbsup2

When my kids were younger, I bought them both disposable cameras just so they could take whatever pictures they wanted. It was neat to see what they came up with.

Loved the update!! Thanks to Hunter for his photo session in your absence. He may be Dis Royalty. Those girls probably recognized him from your TR and one of the girls let the others know who he was! :thumbsup2 Just kidding. (or am I :confused3) Though giggly girls will be giggly girls, especially when a cute boy is involved. Ahhhh, to be young again. (:crazy2: not on your life!! LOL)

Yep, giggly girls doing the giggly girl thing AND Hunter was quite okay with that. I should have asked Hunter if they recognized him. I hadn't even thought of that.

Hunter. What a guy!

I hope the school trip works out. Fundraising is a pain, but I hope the school/parents can figure something out so they can go. That would be a cool trip.

I can't believe how crowded it still was at the wee hours of the morning! And LOL at the tennis shoes in your bag and the security guy.

Tell Hunter he did a great job with the pics.

Hunter was quite the man that evening.

The fundraising is a pin in the rear end for sure! Right now, it looks like the trip is a GO!

I'll let Hunter know that you said he did a good job on the pics.

Thank you so much for your comments! I guess that I'm just self conscious about my face. It's comforting to hear your words.

I love the Magic Kingdom at night and your pictures were wonderful...thank you for making my day.

When my niece went to Disney with her school group, her parents went too and stayed onsite as they were not chaperones but they got to eat some with her and watch the performance.

My grandson Cody class has to raise $20,000 by next year for their 8th grade trip to Washington DC and there are only 16 kids in the class! So far there have been car washes, selling food at a parade and soccer games and there is a raffle going on right now. Lots of work for the kids and parents.

I love the Magic Kingdom at night too. It seems more magical!

I'm still on the fence about going to Disney with Hunter's group. I guess that I need to make up my mind soon.

Holy smokes! $20,000! That's a lot of moolah!

Hunter was quite the celebrity on his birthday. He will definitely remember his 16th birthday!

It's a birthday that he won't soon forget!

Hunter is going to be great at writing TR's in the future. he has the picture taking part down pat!
I think it's so funny how he took his picture with all the ladies. He was really working it for his birthday! :thumbsup2

I wonder if I could get him to write one? He's always reading mine. He was working it....(insert snapping finger smiley here)

Girls. Boys. Girls see boys. GIGGLING. Yep, that's how it usually happens.

Great pictures of MK at night and love all the pics of Hunter with them giggling girls as well as castmembers.

You have the giggling timeline down just right! He had 'em all giggling.

Hi! For a person that is never late in real life my online life I am always late. Hmm.... I am now going back and reading. I just read your introduction and your family sound like a lot of fun.

Welcome! I'm so happy to see you here! We are a very fun loving family and Disney brings out the even sillier side of us.

Okay I made it to the end of page 13. Lucky 13 as my dear old dad would have said. I always enjoy our drive to Disneyland and seeing all of the different crops growing in the central valley. Unfortunately every year it seems as though there are less and less. First it was farmers changing to grapes because they were far more profitable because of wine making. Or worse for oil drilling. Sigh.

Aw, that's sad that the farmers aren't planting the more tradiional crops any more. I guess they are like the rest of us....gotta keep up with the times in order to make a dollar.

My mom is 76 years old and she has always gone on our family trips and she says that our January trip will likely be her last. It makes me kind of sad to think that mom doesn't want to go anymore.

I know exactly where you are coming from. My Mama said that this trip was her last to Disney. Like you, I'm kinda sad.

One last thought, that CM at the first resort which name escapes me was a real prize. Now if I wanted to impress you and get you to want to stay at my resort again I think I would have gone out of my way to amaze you with my customer service. Well, I shouldn't be surprised.

The castmember at the French Quarter certainly didn't go out of her way to make us feel welcome. That's for darn sure.

Congrats on your selection for the 2nd round of the Mom's Panel. I am so excited for you and really hope you get picked. You would be an awesome addition to the panel!!! :cheer2: Go Lisa Go!!!! :cheer2:

Got caught up on your last few updates documenting what the men did while you were making your way to and from CBR.

Really great pictures, Hunter!!!

The pictures from the Country Bears are excellent and I love all of the night shots.

Too funny about the giggly girls in the picture with Hunter. I guess what happens at the castle stays in the castle!

Will the crowds ever die down???

Hmmm.... cost does seem a little pricey or our school trips are a bargain! :rotfl2:

Nate's class trip was $775 per person (student or chaperone) and included:

Airfare to/from Boston
Luxury Bus to/from our school to Boston
4 nights at All Star Music
3 day park tickets (part of Y.E.S. program)
meal vouchers for two meals/day
cold breakfast provided by school (cereal, fruit, granola bars, etc from Sam's Club) and a pizza party the night we arrived.

We didn't have any performance fees or anything, though.

I think Disney really worked with us on the costs since we were staying on site and doing two Y.E.S classes.

We don't have any sponsorship that goes towards the trip. The individual kids do have the opportunity to earn some money by selling Christmas wreaths.

Still, sounds like this will be an awesome opportunity for Hunter and the other students in the orchestra. I really hope he gets to go!!!

I wish that the kids could fly to Disney but, like our family trips, they'd have to drive to a larger airport that's still a little over 2 hours away. We paid almost $400 for a trip to Dallas for just a long weekend. So, yep, I think ya'll's trips are a great price!

I have a feeling there could be some savings in there somewhere… Our Feature Twirler has been invited to a Competition in Feb and looking at the prices for that, I told them that they could very well save more with the current promo!

Hunter did an EXCELLENT job on the picture taking! You should have had him "guest blog" about his adventures at Disney- MAYBE we could find out more about all these pretty ladies… :rotfl2:

I am betting that I could get them a good deal staying onsite but, the travel agency that they are going through specializes in festivals/orchestra/school groups. I know that there has to be a lot involved in getting all the fees paid, making sure the schedules are straight, etc.

Congrats on your selection for the 2nd round of the Mom's Panel. I am so excited for you and really hope you get picked. You would be an awesome addition to the panel!!! :cheer2: Go Lisa Go!!!! :cheer2:

Thank you! I couldn't believe it when I logged on and it said that I made it to the next round.

Got caught up on your last few updates documenting what the men did while you were making your way to and from CBR.

Really great pictures, Hunter!!!

Hunter did really well documenting what they did while I was away.

The pictures from the Country Bears are excellent and I love all of the night shots.

Too funny about the giggly girls in the picture with Hunter. I guess what happens at the castle stays in the castle!

You can definitely see what Hunter was up to while I was taking his grandmother back to the resort.

Will the crowds ever die down???

Eventually!

Whew! Three days and one largely ignored toddler later, I'm all caught up! Mostly a lurker, and new to YEs in general, but wanted to let you know how much I'm enjoying this. :)

Welcome! I hope that the toddler is still okie dokie. :rotfl: I hope that you'll come out of lurkdom more often!

Love the updates :thumbsup2. Hunter is turning into quite the ladies man there!! His pictures are really good. My guys would never think to take any pictures, in fact; they wouldn't even pull out a camera :sad2:.

Yep, Hunter was smoozing his way all the way through the Magic Kingdom. John used to be like that but he's getting better at picture taking.

Wow! I am finally caught up. It's hard to believe how far behind you can get in about four weeks. We have been back from our Sept trip for about two weeks now ... and I have yet to begin my TR. But getting caught up on yours has hopefully given me the inspiration.

I did the pirates treasure hunt too and loved it. Did hunter get "venom-ed" by the cobras? :lmao:

Be sure to let me know when you get started.

You know what? I am not sure if he got the venom or not. Be right back.....I'm going to ask him.

I'm back.....yes, he did!

Very nice photo Lisa! I love that!

Hunter was quite the ladies man! What a way to celebrate sweet 16! :)

Isn't that a neat picture! Hunter took that one.

Hi Lisa! Great update!! So funny & cute about Hunter! What a ladies man! :lovestruc  I can't believe the park is that crowded!! :crowded: Can't wait to see how long you all lasted!!!!

The park was super crowded. I've never seen it that crowded.

All caught up!! I can't believe it's still your first day in the parks!! I'm sorry you guys didn't have a better time at the Wave. The Disney All Nighter must have been so cool. I wonder if they will ever do anything like that again. Wow, Hunter is such a ladies man! :rotfl: Looking forward to next update. -Amanda :cutie:

Yay for being caught up. Aren't you glad that I write so slowly? ;)

Hunter was definitely being the ladies man that evening.

Looky here! Looky here! I posted all of my replies! I was even going to post another installment but I bet you can guess what happened. Photobucket happened. Or didn't happen, I should say. I organized the pictures but now I can't find some of them. I'll keep working on them and try again in the a.m.
