1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

I’m the Duck Commander! No I am! Uhh, guys..Heeeeee’s the Duck Commander!

You may remember that Mama had chosen to stay at the resort and we had told her that we’d meet her later that afternoon. We called her to check in and she had been over to the food court and eaten a lunch of soup and breadsticks. The florentine soup and breadsticks at Caribbean Beach are delicious so if you get a chance, try them. You’ll be glad that you did.

We told Mama that we had one other thing that we wanted to do before leaving the park and heading back to the resort. What was that “one other thing”? Well, it was over in the New Fantasyland so we traipsed back through the crowds and felt like salmon swimming up river. The crowds hadn’t let up at all. But, once we made it to the new castle walls, it wasn’t that bad and we were able to make it over to our destination. Clues as to where we were going:

We had some characters to meet in the new character meet and greet tent. The last time we were at Walt Disney World, Mickey’s Toontown was closed and in it’s place were the two Dumbos and the bathrooms. Everything else was still behind construction walls. Apparently, we were on a mission because I took no other pictures of the “new to us” area.

In the tent, we saw the line that we needed to be in and marched on. Again, I don’t remember how long the line was but it must not have been too long or we would have wavered on whether or not to stay.

The first character that we got to meet was the Great Goofini! He saw Hunter’s birthday button and asked, through hand gestures, how old he was. When Hunter said 16, Goofy started acting like he was driving all crazy and then pointed to his bike that he crashed through the set behind him:

The “talk” continued for a little while longer and then we posed for a picture with Goofini:

Goofy patted Hunter on the back and, again, warned him about driving recklessly before we waved goodbye.

Next up was the one who we had truly waited in line for. Donald Duck! Why was it so important that we see him? Because we were wearing our Duck Commander shirts. That’s why! We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pose in our duck shirts with the Duck Commander himself.

Donald noticed our shirts right off the bat and pointed them out to the castmember who was taking the photos. I told Donald that we had come all the way from the hometown of the Duck Commander and simply had to take our picture with him. The castmember told Donald that we were the Duck Commanders and he shook his head side to side like he was saying No! That’s when the castmember said “Uhh, guys..Heeeeee’s the Duck Commander!” and Donald laughed and laughed at that and held up his hand that he was #1:

It wasn’t until after we posed for that picture that Donald realized that Hunter was wearing a birthday button and he had the castmember announce to everybody in line that they had to sing Happy Birthday to Hunter. It was neat to have everybody join in on the song.

We posed for a couple more pictures after the rousing rendition of Happy Birthday!

Showing off our Duck Commander shirts from the back:

We waved goodbye to Donald and went on our merry way. That was a fun meet and greet with the ultimate Duck Commander himself.

**Up next: Oh no I didn’t! You did! Blame it on Mamaw!

Love that Goofini gave Hunter driving tips, and Donald knew who the real Duck Commander is! :rotfl: And so cool that the line sang Happy Birthday to Hunter too.

Darn, I didn't try the Florentine soup while at CBR, though I did have some other yummy foods!

photobucket does that to me all the time grrrr it's annoying

Photobucket used to be a good website but after the change it is so frustrating.

Yup any chance of a repeat performance in the new tangled ones later in the TR? Or did Hunter want to join in the fun?

You know, I can't remember if he took pictures or not. I'm thinking not because that area was always sooooo busy.

Hi Lisa,

I had been corresponding with you regarding one of the backsacks, but I am unable to pm you a response. it is saying your mailbox is full. I am still interested if it is available. Thank you.

Lorraine

I am so sorry. I didn't even realize that my box was full. Weren't you wanting the brown backsack with the animal print?

Your pictures are too cute! Love all the fun you are having and your shirts are adorable. :thumbsup2

BTM is my FAVORITE ride in all the parks!!:cool1:. I could ride that thing again, and again, and again, and again, and well........OK one more time.......again. :rotfl2:.

I sure hope they are through with all the "beta testing" of the new treasure hunt when we are there and if not, that they don't ask Dallas to participate. I HATED the Kim Possible thing. I felt like I was being drug through gift shops and attractions that I had no interest in at all, nor did anyone else(Disney strategy).

We will have to eat at Pacos Bills when we go this time. We haven't eaten there in a while because they are always so crowded. I guess it has been two years since we ate there last.

PHOTOBUCKET????? Don't even get me started .

I love Big Thunder Mountain too!

I never liked the Kim Possible thing either and the kids only did it the one time. The pirate treasure thing was neat but it's geared more towards younger kids. Didn't mean that Hunter didn't like it. :rotfl:

Maybe Pecos Bill's won't be crowded so you can eat there again. Gotta love the fixin's bar!

This is a cool picture! Love the perspective on the track. Very neat.

I really like what they did with the BTMMR queue. Definitely more interesting than it was.

The missions in adventureland sound fun but I would have jumped about 10 feet high if I had heard that canyon fire. :rotfl:

I thought the picture was neat because it shows the steps in between the tracks. There were a few interactive things in the queue. Like the wheel that you turned and it made a flip type book turn.

great update! Lucky Hunter to get to test something new!

I also have issues with photobucket. I like to replace the "b" with an "s" if you know what I mean...
I've maxed out my storage on free photo bucket, so I might have to change.
I'm thinking of trying Flickr. But I don't know much about it. Need to figure that out and get going on my TR.

I know exactly what you mean about photobucket. It's so bad now! I tried Flickr but couldn't get the hang of it either so I guess I'll stick with crappy Photobucket.

They were all normal to me. Doesn't that make you just LOOOOOVE Photobucket even more?!?!

Oh and I love that saying on the hat!!

Photobucket drive me batty! Well, battier! :lmao:

Another great update!

I am so excited that two weeks from today, my youngest DD will be getting the chance to ride BTMRR and Splash Mountain for the very first time!!! :cool1:

I love BTMRR. It is one of my favorite rides at WDW.

My youngest loves pirates, so she'd probably love the pirate adventure thing, but I'm not sure we'll do it this time. We may have to put it on our list for next May when we'll have more time.

Your trip is coming so very soon!

The pirate treasure hunt was cool especially knowing that we were some of the first to test it but it's not an every single trip thing.

Yours is the first reveiw I have heard of the new pirate thing. Is it up and running now. I have heard very little about it, except that I know they were working on it last year when I was there and at that time I wasn't sure what they were making. I am all geeky about the trail stuff too! Yay for Hunter!

It was neat to see the different things come to life when you got answer correct or even when you got the clue wrong.

Your pictures are showing for me right side up too. I have so many issues with photobucket that I switched to Flickr and of course the "improved" their site after I went there. But it still works better for the most part. But I still have to pay for the cheapest photobucket subscrption to keep all my old photos active. I have them on a blog and most of the beginning days of my Tr are on there too. But I think the cheapest one was $30 and worth it to me to keep my blog photos showing.

I guess that I'll stick with Photobucket because, like you, I have so many pictures that I use on their site.

You can have some time to catch up on my TR's as I am going away for the weekend and will not be working on them again till Monday or Tuesday. :thumbsup2

I can't seem to get caught up on anything lately so it's great that you were away for a few days. ::yes::

My husband has that on a t-shirt!

Don't you just love the saying!

Great update! The pictures are showing right for me too.

That pirate adventure sounds cool! I think my girls would love that.

Love John's hat! I've seen shirts that say that from our Rennaisance (sp?) Faire up here.

BTMRR is such a great ride. Love the pics, and Hunter's selfie. I'd love to see the actual selfie.

Photobucket is so stupid sometimes! They were sideways for a while.

John's work was going through some crap at that time so the hat was very appropriate.

Great update!
I thought the same thing about the Pirate Adventure-Kim Possible in Pirate form. I like doing that "little" stuff every once in awhile. I couldn't get the boys interested this year. They were too busy running from ride to ride. :faint: I keep saying one year I will go by myself just to wander, take photos, and take it all in.

Funny thing...I thought the line was different at BTMRR, but all the times we rode, there was little to no wait and I never had much chance to slow down to look at everything. I guess I was living under a rock on the Dis not realizing they had completely redone the standby line.

Love the hat phrase. Totally appropriate for many places.

It would be nice to go into the park by yourself and just wander and sightsee or do whatever you want when you want.

We usually use Fastpass for Big Thunder or go early when there are no real lines. The new interactive stuff and details were pretty neat.

Awesome photo's of BTM :thumbsup2

Thank you!

How awesome that you guys got to participate in a test of the treasure hunt! That sounds like fun! :thumbsup2
(And thanks for the heads up about standing near a canon!)
LOVE the BTMRR pics, I love that ride so much!

It was cool to know that we were some of the first to try the pirate treasure hunt. We were told that they were just pulling a few guests from the crowd to try it out.

Love that Goofini gave Hunter driving tips, and Donald knew who the real Duck Commander is! :rotfl: And so cool that the line sang Happy Birthday to Hunter too.

Darn, I didn't try the Florentine soup while at CBR, though I did have some other yummy foods!

We don't stop and see the characters much any more but these two meets were a lot of fun.

The florentine soup is really good. Mama tried it a couple of trips ago and said that she had to have it again.

Your pictures are too cute! Love all the fun you are having and your shirts are adorable. :thumbsup2

We had a lot of fun in our Duck Commander shirts!

great pics with Donald.he's always been one of my favorite Disney characters.

The last time I got some pictures with him I told him that too.

Oh my, I was going threw the CB photo thread and saw your pics from I think 08 and 09. Wow Hunter has grown. I might have to look up your tr of those trips. You have sold me on CB for our mod resort.
Love the Meet N Greet pics. I like how they never make you feel to old for being there. I know some think that is a kid thing to do, but I feel its a Disney thing. To pass it up you might as well ... ok maybe thats going to far.
Love reading our tr, Sandy

Donald Duck is always so much fun to meet. DD had her Pal Mickey with her for one meet and the CM made sure she tucked him away but Donald saw it first. So funny. He "squawked" on and on about being #1 and we had to take Pal Mickey and put him away. :lmao:

It sounds like Goofy and Donald were a lot of fun to meet. We missed that part of the circus area. I did enjoy the gift shop though.

That is a clever idea to have your pictures taken with your duck commander shirts on. I knew you were smart! I love how Donald thinks he's the Duck commander. Does he not realize that Duck commanders shoot ducks? :rotfl:

Fun update! Donald has always been my favorite and we always love his meet and greets!

Great pictures and interaction with Goofy and Donald, Lisa.

I take it Duck Commander is from Duck Dynasty (I will admit and let stones be thrown...I don't watch the show; tried once and didn't care for it).

I love that everyone sang to Hunter.

Joining in and all caught up thanks to your links :)

It sounds as though you're having great fun so far, how cool that Hunter got to trial the Pirate adventure :goodvibes

I LOVE that Donald wanted to point out that HE was the main Duck!!!! :rotfl:

I love your Mama! I hope she enjoys her trip with her friends!

Took me all day .. but I got through the whole report ! :thumbsup2

Loving your trip ! Hunter is a riot. pirate:
