1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

LOL. The cannon going off. I would have jumped.
I hate photobucket. Switch to Flickr when you can.
Great pics with Goofy and Donald.

I'm so sorry that my last two posts have been depressing to say the least. Let's talk about something fun and upbeat shall we? As I am sure that most of you know, the Disney Parks Moms Panel started taking applications this morning at 9:00 a.m. The first thing that I did when I got to work, well, besides turn on the lights, was start the application process. I thought that the questions were easier to answer this year and the only problem that I had was keeping my answers within the 100 words or less limitation. I can hardly tell someone Good Morning in 100 words or less. :rotfl:

Did ya'll submit your applications?

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your app!!!

My continued prayers for your family:goodvibes

Let's all say it together now: I HATE PHOTOBUCKET! Gosh darn their site! The pictures on their site show them being rideside up. On the Dis, they are sideways. I'll try to fix them. In the meantime, have fun laying on your side while reading at the same time. :rotfl2:

UGH, don't get me started on PB. :crazy2: My pics aren't sideways, but I'll load a bunch and then some never show up! I reload them, and then I can't get the code to copy. I'm gonna check in to different photo site before my next trip report.

Love Peaco Bill, I love the mushrooms, and the plastic cheese too!:rotfl:
Slots of forks! :lmao:

Great pictures on BTMR! I just learned never ride it in the rain, water drops turn into wet missiles!

Cool that Hunter was chosen to do the new adventure!

Ok, don't be mad, but I just started watching Duck Commander. :faint: I know, but I've been laughing a lot at them and now I get the craze behind it. Cool that you posed with the #1 Duck!

We did the Pirate tresure hunt thingy, you now use your room key/ magic band / park ticket to activate the symbols. It was a fun time filler, and even though we didnt have any kids with us we had fun following the map and trying to find where we were meant to go next.

I like the picture of Hunter with the shield and sword.

I love your fixin's buffet. I know you use it all and don't waste it but its funny to see.

I wish we would have tried the Pirates Adventure. I know River would have really liked it but I never mentioned it to him because I thought it would take up to much of our ride time. Now I kind of feel bad about it.

That was a fun interaction with Donald and Goofy.

I'm coming back with replies later today. I had a little down time and was able to write an installment so I'm going to go ahead and post it before I run out of time to do so.

Oh no I didn’t! You did! Blame it on Mamaw!

John, Hunter and I took the bus back to Caribbean Beach and Mama wanted to know everything that we had done. We chatted for a little while and then went back to our room for a little rest before it was time to get ready to head back out again for our dinner reservation.

Let me tell ya’ll something....before I was married, I was always on time. As a matter of fact, I was usually early. :thumbsup2 My Daddy always hated it when people were late as my sister can attest since she was always always getting in trouble for coming home after curfew. I took after my Daddy. I don’t like to be late and I don’t like it when others are late. Buuuuuut, when I took that darn marriage vow and assumed John’s last name, somehow, someway, I started running late. :confused3 Wait, I take that back, I’m usually ready on time but I’m stuck behind waiting on John to get his slow self ready to go. The poor man gets dressed as slowly as he talks. And, if you’ve ever met John, you know how slow he talks. I can fit a half dozen words in between two of his. :mic:

Any old way, our rest time over with, we were running a little behind schedule leaving the resort and going back out into the World. John said that he felt a few little facial twitches and took one of his “magic pills” before we left hoping that it would stop the twitching. We stepped outside and it felt damp and the clouds were looming and we were almost certain that it would rain. We kept our fingers crossed that it would hold off until we reached our destination but it was looking doubtful.

Lucky for us, a bus arrived soon after we got to the bus stop and we were on our way back to the Magic Kingdom. Only, we weren’t actually going back into the park. We were headed someplace else for dinner. We had dinner reservations at The Wave which was a new restaurant to us. To get there, though, we had to walk down the bus station, over to the pathway that led to the Contemporary and walk over. Sounds like nothin’ doesn’t it? It very well is if you are young and spry and have plenty of time to get there. There was only one young and spry folk in our bunch and that was Mr. Sixteen Year Old Hunter and there wasn’t plenty of time to get there. A quick look at my watch told me that we were going to be late. Freakin’ A! :scared:

Bless my 79 year old Mama’s heart, she put a little pep in her arthritic step and was able to keep up fairly easily. Just as we got to the walkway to the Contemporary, we felt it. It? The rain. Big fat raindrops. There weren’t many of them but we knew that there were more on the way. Great! Not!

By the time we reached the walkway to cross the street, Mama was a little out of breath and asked “Who picked this place anyway?” I told her that she and John did. John looked at me and said “Oh no I didn’t!” The crosswalk light lit up and we took off and as I walked I said “You and Mama chose the restaurant.” Hunter started laughing and said “Blame it on Mamaw!”. We all giggled at that but we didn’t stop walking. As we approached the Contemporary, I took one shot of the resort:

I’m not kidding, the rain started just as we got underneath the bus stop. Perfect timing. I had no idea where The Wave was located within the resort but it was pretty easy to find. John, Mama and Hunter walked ahead while I snapped a couple of pictures.

We were 10 minutes late for our ADR but the hostess didn’t make a big deal out of it and took us straight to our table and our waitress came immediately after we were seated. We were given menus and she took our drink order and left us to choose what we wanted to order. When she brought out our drinks, she brought a basket of bread also:

We placed our orders and noshed on the bread that she had brought out. I don’t know what kind of bread it was but it was nothing spectacular but not bad either. As we were sitting there, I noticed John reach underneath the table and take out his “magic pill” container and place the pill underneath his tongue. Ms. Eagle Eye Mamaw who doesn’t miss a thing noticed it too.

Now ya’ll don’t take this the wrong way. We love my Mama for caring but you have to know my Mama to know that she can go a little overboard with the whole mother hen thing. When John’s not feeling well, he really wants to be left alone until the ticking or auras stop. It makes him feel more nervous when you hover. I know this. My children know this. My mother knows this but she can’t help herself and will watch him like a hawk and ask him a million and one questions.

Do ya’ll remember a while back when I posted about John’s work “issues” and that he doesn’t have a lot of self confidence because of the way he was raised? Combine those issues, the epilepsy, the hovering and the embarrassment that John feels when attention is upon him and it makes for a somewhat crappy situation. Thus, I could see this meal and evening going downhill fast if I didn’t try to do something about it. While Mama was talking to Hunter, I mouthed to John “do you want to leave?”. He shook his head no. I could tell that he just wanted to let the pill take effect and for us to leave him alone. Again, I know this. My children know this. My mother knows this. Yet, she asked John if he needed something or if he needed her to go get a wet cloth or....or....or....the list continued on. I tried my best to change the subject and talk about other things as often as I could. Yeah, that didn’t work too well. :rolleyes2

By the time our food arrived, John’s facial twitches had calmed down quite a bit and he was able to eat the steak that he ordered. (Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry)

I ordered the same steak as John ordered. Mama ordered the chicken with mushroom risotto:

Hunter ordered the steak with a side of fries:

Even though John was feeling better, Mama continued to constantly ask if John needed anything. He would insist that he didn’t but she’d ask again anyway. Poor thing, she simply can not help herself. By the time the waitress came around to take our dessert orders, John was frustrated to the point that he would only answer questions with a word or two. Part of that was because of the epilepsy/mood issues and part of it was due to the hovering/question asking. He was ready to get out of there but he didn’t want to go off on his own or have us leave without having dessert.

When it was John’s turn to order, he told the waitress that he didn’t want anything but she insisted. He told her to just decide for him. Have mercy, now the waitress was getting in on the question asking action. :faint: (Unknowingly of course). A little while later, our desserts came out and I didn’t take any pictures because, honestly, I was more than ready to go too. I asked the waitress for our tickets so that we could leave when we were done. They were testing some new handheld thingamabob that worked with our KTTW cards and we had been there long enough that it had timed out and we had to go through the whole process again which took a little while.

Oh gosh, as I am typing this and going back to read, I realize that I sound like an ungrateful little snothead. I’m not! I’m really really not! You just have to live with epilepsy to know what I’m talking about and relate to how John was feeling. You also have to know my Mama was my Daddy’s caregiver throughout his long bout with various major illnesses and that my Daddy actually liked for my Mama to be there 24/7. But, my Daddy also didn’t have a brain injury or epilepsy. Epilepsy sucks I tell ya!

Once we had our bill settled up, we walked out into the resort and John and Hunter went to the bathroom. This is probably TMI but the twitches and seizing of epilepsy also affects your stomach and John usually has a bit of stomach “issues” afterward so I knew that he would be in the bathroom for a little longer than usual. Mama found a sitting area nearby and we sat down to wait. But, not before I took a few more pictures:

After a while, John was back with us and was feeling better. We weren’t sure what to do. Go back to the resort? Go to the Magic Kingdom for more of the 24 hour celebration? John said that he felt well enough to go back to the park so we found our way to the monorail station and, let me tell you, I won’t be staying at the Contemporary any time soon. I was about to freak out! Good goobly goo! You could see out and down into the resort and I started feeling all swoony and light headed. If nobody would have looked at me funny, I would have fallen to my knees and crawled over to the monorail. Heck, I almost didn’t care if they did look at me funny. Just get me low to the ground so I can’t see how far up I was. Eeeek!

****Up next: First a parade and now fireworks! Hunter, WDW loves you!

I’m the Duck Commander! No I am! Uhh, guys..Heeeeee’s the Duck Commander!

Showing off our Duck Commander shirts from the back:

We waved goodbye to Donald and went on our merry way. That was a fun meet and greet with the ultimate Duck Commander himself.

**Up next: Oh no I didn’t! You did! Blame it on Mamaw!

LOL You know I love this picture!!! :)

Donald Duck is always so much fun to meet. DD had her Pal Mickey with her for one meet and the CM made sure she tucked him away but Donald saw it first. So funny. He "squawked" on and on about being #1 and we had to take Pal Mickey and put him away. :lmao:

What a funny story! I love memories like that!

It sounds like Goofy and Donald were a lot of fun to meet. We missed that part of the circus area. I did enjoy the gift shop though.

We didn't even look around in the gift shop much. We were on a mission to see a Duck!

Love the update! Looks like you had some fun with "THE" Duck Commander!

We had a great meet and greet with Goofy and Donald!

That is a clever idea to have your pictures taken with your duck commander shirts on. I knew you were smart! I love how Donald thinks he's the Duck commander. Does he not realize that Duck commanders shoot ducks? :rotfl:

Heck yeah, I'm smart. :lmao: I'm pretty sure that Donald had no idea what the Duck Commanders do or else he'd have been running scared.

I love the expression on John and Hunter's face!!!!

Those two can make some silly faces!

Fun update! Donald has always been my favorite and we always love his meet and greets!

He is one of our favorites too!

Great pictures and interaction with Goofy and Donald, Lisa.

I take it Duck Commander is from Duck Dynasty (I will admit and let stones be thrown...I don't watch the show; tried once and didn't care for it).

I love that everyone sang to Hunter.

No stones being thrown you way by me. It's okay not to like Duck Dynasty.

It was neat that Donald had everyone sing to Hunter.

Joining in and all caught up thanks to your links :)

It sounds as though you're having great fun so far, how cool that Hunter got to trial the Pirate adventure :goodvibes

Welcome aboard the crazy train! I hope that you'll contniue to post. I have a long way to go still. We have so much fun when we are together!

I LOVE that Donald wanted to point out that HE was the main Duck!!!! :rotfl:

I love your Mama! I hope she enjoys her trip with her friends!

Oh yeah, Donald let us know realy quick.

Mama is going to drive us mad before she gets on that darn ship. We went shopping this past weekend and she got lots of deals so she's now invested some money in the trip.

Took me all day .. but I got through the whole report ! :thumbsup2

Loving your trip ! Hunter is a riot. pirate:

Glad to see you all caught up!

Hunter is a hoot and a half! I don't know what life would be like without him. Boring as all heck.

LOL. The cannon going off. I would have jumped.
I hate photobucket. Switch to Flickr when you can.
Great pics with Goofy and Donald.

I DID jump! It's scared me!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your app!!!

Thanks! I'd love to be on the Panel.

My continued prayers for your family:goodvibes

Please keep 'em coming. I think she's got a long road ahead of her.

UGH, don't get me started on PB. :crazy2: My pics aren't sideways, but I'll load a bunch and then some never show up! I reload them, and then I can't get the code to copy. I'm gonna check in to different photo site before my next trip report.

Photobucket drives me nuts! But, like Jen, I have paid for the subscription. :worried:

Love Peaco Bill, I love the mushrooms, and the plastic cheese too!:rotfl:
Slots of forks! :lmao:

Whaaaat? Ya'll don't play the fork slots? I thought that everybody did.

The Duck Commander guys and gals are just like you see on t.v. I need a job there 'cause I think that I'd fit right in. ::yes::

We did the Pirate tresure hunt thingy, you now use your room key/ magic band / park ticket to activate the symbols. It was a fun time filler, and even though we didnt have any kids with us we had fun following the map and trying to find where we were meant to go next.

Because we have several days to see the Magic Kingdom, I didn't mind stopping and letting Hunter do the pirate treasure thingy but it's not an every time thing.

I like the picture of Hunter with the shield and sword.

I love your fixin's buffet. I know you use it all and don't waste it but its funny to see.

Heck no! Ain't none of those fixin's going to waste with John around. :rotfl:

Nah, no need to feed bad about not letting River know. What he doesn't know won't hurt him. Just don't let him read that installment. ;)

Your experience at the wave may not have been the best but how was the food?

Oops! I forgot to tell ya'll about the food. It's was pretty darn good. Mama's risotto was a little on the dry/crunchy side but still had a nice flavor. The steaks were charred and that's just the way that I like them. Would I go back? Yes definitely but not before we try other new-to-us restaurants first.

Sounds like dinner was a little stressful. But I kind of know where your coming from because my daughter has a mood disorder and we had a few episodes of stress when we went to eat at Park Fare in 2011. She gets very anxious and uptight which makes everyone else anxious and uptight :sad2:. Like you guys we have to wait for her meds to kick in, but she didnt have any when we went to Park Fare so she ended up going back to the resort instead of eating with us .
Anyway at least you got to try the Wave :thumbsup2 I have never been to the Contemporary and maybe I dont want to because I have a fear of being up high also

It's nice to see that someone else knows how our family feels when something like this occurs. Thank goodness we found John's magic pill case when we went back to French Quarter to look for it.

The Contemporary is a neat very "contemporary" (no pun intended) looking resort but if I had to go up to the monorail station every day, I'd pass out. :faint:

So sorry John wasn't feeling well at Dinner. Hopefully the next installment has you all having fun back at MK.

Thanks! As I said, epilepsy sucks! It rears it's ugly head at the most unfortunate times (not that there is a good time). Next installment is a lot better, I promise.

Loved the update as always. Wow, the portion size at the Wave looks really small. I mean Hunter had what, 8 french fries? :rotfl2:
