Hoping you have a fun weekend with your families and special guests this weekend

mickeystoontown said:Morning ya'll! Sorry that I didn't get the installment posted like I had hoped. Work has been a doozie and, as I told ya'll before, we're still doing the remodel at home. We haven't hit the sheets before midnight in about two weeks. It's looking good though.
My chickadees are coming home this weekend! I'll have two whole days with Lacey and Jesse! Some of John's folks are coming over Saturday and we're going to a local bbq restaurant. Sunday, my family is coming over and who knows what all will go on. We're a pretty silly bunch so it may be one of those "what happens in our household stays in our household".
I'll try my best to get something posted before I leave work at Noon today but I'm not making any promises.
Have a great time with your family! Enjoy!

Aren't you even the slightest bit concerned he might be curious and want to look at your TR's to see what it is that makes them so special? If he does this he might look at the dates and times you post and realize that you do some of your updates from the office. After all, your enthusiasm about Disney might be contagious and your boss might want to look into a trip to the World. And where better to start than with some Trip Reports written by his favorite employee?
I've enjoyed the Sea World updates, and I'm really glad you got lower seats for mama. Hunter's relationship with his grandma reminds me of the one I had with my grandma when I was a teenager. I really makes me smile and brings back such happy memories.
Hope you're having a great weekend with your families.![]()
Hey Lisa! I'm back!!! And reallyto go back and find out how far behind I am on your report. I look forward to catching up.
I see by the last few posts that you will be spending time with Lacey and Jesse.Enjoy your visit!
I just had to pop in and tell you how much I love-love-love my string bag!!! I only brought the new one along on our trip, but I wish I had them both.
Check out what I posted on the Beach & Yacht Club FAQ thread:
Speaking of rain... This is how we managed the poncho issue:
Some of you know that I have an unhealthy obsession with string bags and Ziplocs.
This is how we packed for the Disney parks last week.
We rolled our ponchos into a large (2 or 2 1/2 gallon bag). Any other stuff we brought into the parks, like moleskin, extra memory cards, camera batteries and journals for notes, went into another, smaller plastic bag. We also carried another empty large ziploc to keep everything dry if it rained. We would wear the ponchos and then the string bag and contents would fit into the empty Ziploc bag. When it stopped raining, we tried to wring out the ponchos, roll them up and place them back in their bag so they didn't get everything else wet.
It was great going through bag check. We had two clear see-through bags that the checkers didn't even have to open, and someone else carried the deflated string bag in their pocket. Once past that point, the two bags went back into the string bag.
PS- my bag was custom made by DISer Mickeystoontown. She often adds a Mickey Head outline decoration to the bag but I preferred to have mine without one.
PPS- the observant reader may notice that some of these bags are Hefty, not Ziploc. A rose by any other name...

A Dis Meet and a lesson in fish!
The initial plan had been to eat at the bbq restaurant but it was hot out and the thought of bbq wasnt that great. Hunter suggested pizza (shock, I know) and we asked if they cared if we went to the pizza buffet. They were game
so off we went. Michelle and I chatted as if we were long lost friends as did the rest of the gang. We made it over to the check-in desk for the buffet and I was able to exchange our vouchers for the wristbands. (Finally)
Once the castmember looked at our wristbands, she told us to go on down the pathway to the restaurant. The landscaping around the area was beautiful:
The restaurant was nice and clean and big and air conditioned. Cant leave out the air conditioned reference. We found a table that would seat all of us and we hit the buffet bars. There wasnt a ton of choices but it was all good.....variety of pizzas, a small salad bar, a few different pastas to choose from and, if I am remembering correctly, two cold desserts and cookies.
We asked JJ to say the blessing over the food and he did a mighty fine job. We visited while we ate and it was so great to have time to sit down and chat with them. Michelles husband had to get to leave soon to go to work but we did have time to visit the shark exhibit before parting ways. Before we left the restaurant, I asked another guest if he minded taking a group picture and he was nice enough to oblige:
We reached the shark building and JJ told us that he could tell us all about the fish. I might have done a no-no and ducked through a line of bushes that they had set up to keep people from going around that way.Oops! Im a bad influence on the young.
No worries, nobody said anything and we had a nice view of the fish swimming around.
John was leaning really close to JJ so he could hear exactly what he was saying. Poor John, hes worked around machines so long that his hearing is not the greatest.
After our fish lesson on the outside, it was time for a fish lesson on the inside. JJ continued to school us on the fish and it he would say something like this one is a female because and this one is a male because. I looked over at Michelle and said JJ knows his fish! Michelle laughed and said that he was probably making most of it up. I personally think that he really believed what he was telling us. In his mind, he wasnt making up anything. He sure had me believing every word out of his mouth.
We came to a photo op area and JJ and Hunter had a little fun:
The next area was a bit congested because the conveyor belt wasnt working and our group was split up as we went through the tunnel viewing area:
Once we were through the viewing area, we all met back up outside and it was time to say goodbye. Michelle and her family had to head out and we were off to see the whale show. Before leaving, we had to take a few more pictures together:
and one with JJs signature pose:
JJ asked where we were going and I told him that we were headed to the Shamu show. He asked if we were going to sit in the splash zone and I told him absolutely not. I didnt want to smell like a fish all day! To which he replied, without missing a beat my brother smells like fish! I laughed so hard at that. Michelle said that JJs big brother worked in a fish store and thats why he smelled like a fish. I thought he was just saying his brother stunk. Oh JJ! He was so sweet and cute and lovable and I could have sopped him up with a biscuit!
We bid each other goodbye and parted ways! It was so nice to meet up with their family and spend some time together.
**Up next: Mark that one off your bucket list Mamaw!
