1 Child and 10 Adults--A GG to Celebrate DD's 4th Bday :) TR Link is Posted

Yay for cruising!!!! :thumbsup2 Congrats! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Anxious to hear what you select for snacks. Never fails, we end up going to Goofy's to use them on our last day. This year since I am dieting, I was thinking to use them for my breakfast....yogurt, fruit, etc.

Thank you!! :goodvibes

Snacks: I am curious to see what all people like to have ideas for when we go down there. :rotfl: Obsessive--yup! I had anticipated using them more for breakfast too along with having things in our room. DH is not sure about those ideas.

A CRUISE !!! Sounds like the perfect graduation present.

As far as snacks, how can you ever go wrong with a Mickey ice cream bar or a Mickey rice krispie.

This past trip I had a napoleon from the bakery in France/Epcot. It was delicious, and at almost $4, it was a great use of a snack credit. :thumbsup2

Thanks Michelle! I agree, which is why I told DH that is what I wanted to do. :rotfl:

Lilian has already informed me, on several occasions, she wants a Mickey ice cream bar. :upsidedow I know I will also be getting popcorn, another sure bet with her (and me).

I love the bakery in France! It is a must on my list. Just not sure what I will get. I will have to consider the Napolean. :thumbsup2

Hey!! First of all!! 2-2-2!! :cool1:2 months, 2 weeks & 2 days:cool1: Woo Hoo!!

Second, YIPPIE:banana: for the cruise!! You guys are going to have a great time! I can't wait to hear all about that!

Third, my favorite snack is the chocolate mousse at the Boulangerie Patisserie in France. The last few years we have used most of our snack credits to feed Emily because she wasn't on the DDP. We'd get her grapes, carrots, uncrustables pb&j, etc!

Thanks Wendy!! :dance3: The trip is coming up so quickly!! I am really looking forward tot he cruise too.

Boulangerie Patisserie is a definite stopping place for us at some point on our trip! I did not know you can use the snack credits for the uncrustables--a good thing to remember since Lilian is a so so eater. We can always use that in a crunch. :thumbsup2

Joining in! Sorry it took me so long.
First off, I noticed in your sigg you are celebrating your 2s today. (2 months, 2 weeks, 2 days!:cool1:)
Lilian is so cute! She looks really excited for the trip. How sweet of Becky and Brent to send her a postcard.
Here's help with your DHS dilema.
Cape May dinner- We did this countless times when we lived in Orlando and then we did it every trip for years. Very good and lots of choices! You'll still like it even if you aren't big buffet people.
Hollywood Vine (or something close, or very far from that)- We did this for dinner on 4th of July a few years ago. We were very impressed with it. There's so much food.
Sorry, I probably didn't help you get rid of anything. Maybe Sci-fi? I think Lilian will enjoy eating in a car. Or if you don't do a sit down at DHS Pizza Planet is one of our favorite CSs. They even have some arcade games that are free that go non-stop.
Favorite rides:
Epcot- Soarin' is our must do. Actually, it's our must do 3 times.
Figment, Turtle talk, and Nemo are all fun for Lilian and they don't have long lines.
We missed Illuminations in November but saw it from the boardwalk almost every night during our couples' trip. Make sure you watch it from the Mexico side of WS. The Canada side has way too much smoke. We watch it from Mexico every trip and then we do the Donald Duck ride and Maelstorm with out a wait before going to FW for EMH!
Magic Kingdom- So hard!!!
Haunted Mansion and I'm going to say Buzz but there are so many great things.
Peter Pan, Pooh, IASW, Splash... I could go on and on. So many great things. If you want I could help you with your raid plan for this park. We get everything done here with it.
DHS- Toy Story Mania and the drawing class.
AK- Safari and I'd say Dinosaur for the rest of the family.
I think Amy will be getting some pins for her birthday! She LOVES to pin trade. She has about 3 that she won't trade and the rest she exchanges every 5 minutes. Emily loves all her pins so I think I'm going to get her some junk ones to trade.
Snacks-
Epcot- Sunshine Seasons (in the land) has great food! It's my favorite CS!!! Also it's a great CS for the DP. The strawberry shortcake and chocolate cake our delishous and make a great snack credit.
You can't go wrong with a Mickey icecream bar.
MK- A lot of disers sware by the dole whip. I've never had one (have to fix that, right?) but I'm looking forward to trying it.
DHS- Starring rolls everyone likes the cupcakes there.
Also you can get a popcorn bucket. They're $4.50, everyone can snack on it all day, and they you have a nice sovie.
Congrats on being paid in full.
Can't wait to see your countdown calendar and autograph book. I need to make a new one of both soon. I started a Disney drawer and I keep buying things to put in it and I just made a new trip notebook. A new trip is on the horizon.:goodvibes
Have a great day!

Hi Barbara! Thank you for taking time to read and give advice. I might take you up on looking at my MK plans. I need to find a bit of time (who knows when but soon!) to figure out our schedule. :thumbsup2

Soarin' is my favorite--I hope Lilian likes it too. :goodvibes Thanks for the tip on Illuminations, I will definitely keep Mexico in mind for it.

I have the ideas for both the countdown calendar and autograph book. I need to get cracking on those too.

This summer sure has turned out to be hectic!!

Hi Steph-sorry I havent posted in awhile. Congrats on having your trip paid in full:banana: thats exciting. A cruise graduation celebration:woohoo: thats great!

I can say I honestly did not plan our snacks very well last time so we used them on drinks and slushies for the most part. I did love the slushies in MK and Epcot. They were so refreshing on those super hot days we had. I am interested to hear what snacks you get because I am hoping to use mine more wisely next trip.

Thank you Lindsay! I have not been on much lately either, still catching up on threads, including yours--I hope to pop over there today. :goodvibes I am really looking forward to the cruise--it will be a great way to celebrate!

Hey, slushies sound like a good idea on those really hot days! When you were down in September, you could see how warm it was--I imagine it will be the same for us.

just something to KIM...the lesser expensive pin lanyards you can buy whereever to not comapre to the srtonger more hefty fabric on the Disney one's which are really degined to hold several chunky pins...for a little kid..w/ just a few pins the $1.00 should be fine...

to answer your SNACK challange this is a challange for me as well...I really need to try some new things!

but my favorite all time snack is a Mickey shaped rice krispie treat w/ the chocolate dipped ears.

things I'd like to try off the top of my head...

Tye-Dye Cheesecake from POP

Dole Whip in MK

Fudge from MK

read about some yummy tea drinks from AK...forget the specifics though

School Bread from Norway in Epcot

don't worry I will make a list to share later in my PTR ;)

Good point about the lanyards Julie!

I need to jump over to your PTR--still trying to catch up, as usual. I am not sure if I will like the Dole Whip--I know everyone loves them but I don't think I will. I will have to convince DH to get one, and try a bite of his. :rolleyes1 My DH loves  fudge so I am sure we will end up picking some of it too.

Hooray on the Graduation Cruise! That is so exciting!

Favorite Snacks
-MK - DOLE WHIP!!! This is probably my all-time fav snack as well
-EP - Soft pretzel from Germany...they are just SO delicious!
-DHS - Haven't really gotten a ton of snacks here, but Starring Rolls is on my Sept list!
-AK-Again, not a lot of snacks have been eaten here, but I want to try a frozen capuccino in Sept
-DTD- ANYTHING from Ghiardelli's!

Thanks Meghan! I really think the cruise will be a great way to celebrate my Master's and what all the family has put up with over the last few years.

I have not had a Dole Whip--not sure if I will like it or not. I am going to get DH to get one so I can try it. :rolleyes1 I love soft pretzels so I am saving up so I can have one while we are down there. :yay:

How exciting about the Graduation Cruise!! pirate: I've never been on a cruise and I would love for my first one to be a Disney cruise! Still trying to convince my hubby...

This will be mine and DH's third cruise, but our first with Disney. The other two we sailed on Princess. It will be Lilian's first.

What does your hubby not like about going on a cruise?

We have been spending a lot of time outside, swimming at the lake we have a membership for, playing at parks, etc. Well, since we have been going swimming so often, we have noticed that Lilian is outgrowing her swimsuits already this summer! I knew she had gained a bit of weight, filling out, so she was bound to be shooting up soon. Well, it is starting to happening because her swimsuits are starting to get snug! Thinking of this, I knew I had set aside a couple swimsuits for Disney, so we pulled those out to check—they fit really well now (better than the suits she has been using) so they most likely will not fit in September. While we were at it, I tried on the other clothes we had put aside. Well, it is a good thing we did because there are some that are definitely not going to work for Disney! Crazy thing is I just tried them on her right after Memorial Day, not even a month ago, and they looked like they would work. Not anymore! I also tried on the dress we had done for her on Etsy for her BBB appointment:

It is fitting much better! Still need to debate on getting a slip to go under though…

Since we lost some outfits for Disney, yesterday we went shopping! ;) We found several cute things and have put them away. We got her two swimsuits for Disney and went ahead and picked up two more for May at Old Navy since they are having great sales ($7 swimsuits :goodvibes)

Lesson of the story: I am going to keep checking the clothes we have for her—probably end of July and depending on how that goes, again in August. I have to wash everything yet, so I know we will try them on one last time beginning of September when I pull things out to wash and pack for good.Crazy, I know. However, I rather continue to pick things up here and there instead of last minute.

How so do you start shopping for your trips? Are you last minute shoppers or are you a pick up a few things here and there as I tend to do?

This is really funny. I JUST got off the phone with my mom before I signed on to the DIS and asked her if she has tried on any of her clothes for Disney for our trip in September. :lmao: She has a separate Disney "wardrobe" that she has all folded and ready to go into her suitcase. :rolleyes1

I think it's good to check the wardrobe throughout the summer so that if you need to, you can take advantage of the end of the season sales.

It sounds like you were able to get some bargains!

She looks so cute in that dress!
I don't have clothes that are specific for our trip except whatever princess dress Jessica decides to bring. Kids grow to fast for me to save things! I just bought a bunch of stuff from Old Navy for the summer. If they are outgrowing stuff towards the end of the summer I'll buy some stuff before our trip but otherwise they're stuck with what they have! :thumbsup2 The disneystore.com is a regular shopping spot for me anyway...

Amanda

That dress is adorable!! :cutie:

I haven't done much in the way of Disney wardrobe for the kids because I'm afraid of a growth spurt!

Hi Stephanie!! All caught up!! YAY for being paid in full!! That's a great feeling, huh?! And YAY for a graduation cruise--how exciting!! Thanks for posting the pic of Lilian with her postcard!! I'm so glad that she liked it!! :goodvibes Please know that I haven't forgotten about your bow order--I'm frantically trying to finish editing all of my PP pics and the site is SLOW!! I'm almost done and will focus on your order VERY soon!!

Favorite snacks: Mickey head rice krispie treats dipped in chocolate, chocolate peanut butter cupcake (Starring Rolls in HS), napolean or creme brulee (France in Epcot), I could go on and on!! :goodvibes

I know what you mean about growing out of swimsuits--my girls girls did the EXACT thing before our trip!!

So, I have a question/challenge for you. Please name your favorite snack in each park and your all time favorite snack! Thank you for playing along!! :thumbsup2

You might also notice a little something new in my signature…:rolleyes1

MK - DOLE WHIP FLOAT! Is there anything else?? (all time favorite!)
Epcot - Kaki Gori - YUM!
DHS - Um...I don't really know. :confused3 :rotfl:
AK - Chocolate Chipwich...I always get ice cream in that park because I'm always super hot!!!

Congrats on the cruise, that's awesome! And she looks ADORABLE in that dress!

I started buying some new things in june/july. I think for the most part I bought the next size up since the size the kids were wearing were starting to fit well. Everything worked out great for sept and most of the clothes fit them again this summer. I think boys clothes are fitted alot differently. Maybe because they were things bigger and not fitted thats why they last longer.:confused3 Im not sure I cant seem to figure it out.

I also tried on the dress we had done for her on Etsy for her BBB appointment:

IMG_3474-1.jpg

she looks so beyond cute :lovestruc

How so do you start shopping for your trips? Are you last minute shoppers or are you a pick up a few things here and there as I tend to do?

first yes w/ kids I always try and re-try on clothes before going...certiantly do not want any major surprises when you get down there...

luckily most of everything I have set aside was way large to begin w/ ...so some growing would be OK...I am concerned most about my older two as I have no hand-me-down spares in the basement like the little girls do...

Nathan needs another suit too...he wanted a Disney one, but nothing big kid available on the store site...

but to actually answer the question...I totally buy as I go along even way far out when it comes to Disney themed shirts and just save them. (Naomi-Ruth's snow white dress for BBB I bought when she was 2 :rolleyes1) There is always a last minute list...but it's usually underwear and tolietries...but of course this yr I need to be way on top of things w/ going in Nov there will be no shorts or swimsuits available in the stores much past the beg. of August....

glad you found some replacement suits and outfits...

J~

Oh, I don't know HOW I missed an update (I swear my subscribed threads keep disappearing).

Yay for the cruise! How exciting for you.

Snacks in each park. That's hard because we don't eat too many.
For me, popcorn at MK, Epcot and the Studios. I'm not sure I've ever had a snack at the Animal Kingdom except for an apple. For Mark, it would be Mickey Bar at the Magic Kingdom, Eclair from France in World Showcase at Epcot, Cinnamon Roll from bakery in Animal Kingdom and the Studios would be the Chocolate Croissant he had at the Starring Rolls Bakery.

Hmm...snacks...let's see!

Epcot: Definitely try the bakery in France (Boulangerie Patisserie). Their pastries are heavenly. :cloud9:

MK: Pineapple Dole Whip (No Float!) in Adventureland.

DHS: I always am in the mood for icecream when I'm there so a Mickey Bar!

AK: ??? Nothing pops out to me!
