1 Child and 10 Adults--A GG to Celebrate DD's 4th Bday :) TR Link is Posted

I'm with Meghan. Whenever I used to bring a bag or bookbag to amusement parks back in hs, I would just wrap the strap around my leg or feet. You'll be ok! :thumbsup2

I love the Minnie bag, so cute! I don't think you'll have a problem with lines so no worries! Disney is so good with theming that when kids do get stuck waiting in line, they're having fun looking and playing with the things around them anyway!

I love the camera bag! Where did you get that? I have tried three so far and i hate them all. I'd love a bag like that.

Thank you! If you click on the picture, it will link you to where I got it. I love REI but I am sure you can find it other places. I just love it!! It is working out really well for mine camera.

We always just take our backpack on rides. I'm contemplating leaving some things in the stroller and/or just taking the essentials in a small purse-type bag. DH isn't on board, he thinks we need the backpack. I told him, "But wouldn't it be nice to not have a backpack?" He said, "Well, yes it would, but I think we're past that stage in our life now." :lmao: I think he thinks I'm having a disney-mid-life-crisis!

At the moment, as long as valuables are not in it, I think we are going to leave at the stroller, underneath in the basket. Disney-mid-life-crisis! :lmao: Too funny!

I made it over and somewhat caught up on your ptr. Ok heres my response/idea to the bag issues. This worked well for us but everyone is different.

I used a small purse with a long strap that I put over my shoulder across my chest. Similar to your camera bag. In there I put my valuables. Money, KTW cards, camera, etc. This was extremely easy to take on rides. Then we had a backpack which we kept in the stroller when on rides. This housed the diapers/wipes,extra clothes, ponchos, hand towel (this came in handy when it rained and our stroller got wet the kids sat on them), pretty much anything you need to have with you but only will use at potty breaks etc. Our autograph books started in there as well, but once we got into the parks I put those in the little pouch bag our stroller had on the back for easy access. Then if you need some things for meals I would put that in lillian's bag and keep in the stroller. You can put a few small things in your camera bag that she can play with while waiting but there is so much going on I bet you wont need those often. Also keep in mind everytime you enter the parks you have to go through bag check and all bags have to be out and opened. by the middle of our trip I had a system down for the bag checks.

Hello! I am so glad you could pop back over! I have links on the first post if you are just dying to read more but want to skip the chatter. ;) Yup, I remember bag check which will be interesting since we have never taken a backpack with us before. Our last trip I had my purse but that was it. So much different traveling with kids. :rolleyes1

Thank you for the suggestions!

We have an LLBean backpack in that exact same color. I love it. It is actually child sized. I originally bought it for my DD way back when she was in kindergarten. But she wanted princesses or something on her backpack so I ended up with it and I love it! Now that she is over characters on her backpack she wants it back, but she isn't getting it:laughing:

I have it for awhile--I just love how well they hold up! I don't blame you for not wanting to give it up! :thumbsup2

I love that Keen bag! Super cute. :thumbsup2

If you encounter long lines a few toys like you've mentioned will be helpful but I've always found that my kids still need me to entertain them in those situations. You might consider teaching her some 'car trip' games like "A my name is...", 20 questions, or I spy.

Thanks Hope! She likes holding little things in her hands, so I thought the figurines would help with that obsession. :rotfl: We love just sitting down and talking. I actually think I will throw in a few books too actually. Thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks Jenny! I think we will be fine, but I rather be prepared for the just in case scenario (as long as it does not entail me having to lug a kitchen sink around :lmao:).

We usually bring a backpack diaper bag, a "snack" and water bag, and my purse to the parks. We put valuables in my purse (which zips closed) and carry that on rides. The backpack and snack bag stay with the strollers (yup, 2 strollers - one single, one double).

Thanks everyone for responding to my question! I see a common theme of a lot of you like VB but I already knew that. :rotfl: Here is what we are thinking at the moment:

Where I am torn:

Lilian's essentials:
snack, drink, coloring book/crayons/pencils for at TS restaurants. I am not sure if her change of clothes in a ziplock to be able to put dirty/wet ones back into and autograph book would go in her bag or the backpack. Her bag would be the Minnie Bling bag I got a while back:

:confused3 I need to sit down and really go over what I really feel we need, pack the bags and see what works best in what bag I think.

Feedback anyone?

The TS restaurants always have crayons and coloring pages for the kiddies.

as the above Diser said...you should not need the crayons & paper at TS places... if you think you need something for CS restaurants why not a mini magna doodle or etch sketch? would she like those? 1 thing to carry, good for her bag.

I just take the backpack off when I ride, and put it on the floor or the seat beside me, if it's a calm ride. If it's a crazy spin you around ride, I usually put it down between my knees/lower legs and hold tight!

LOVE the camera bag! :thumbsup2 Oh, and my DD (Rachel) carrys the same LL Bean lime green backpack as her school pack!

I have been struck down by resort-itis. It has popped up a few times over the last few months, but with a good dose of strong will I have resisted. With the talks of free dining and the announcement the rooms released will be severely limited is crept back up on me again! DH and I spoke about what resorts we would consider if we need to switch. CBR and WL were on our radar. I called our wonderful TA and she mentioned CSR. After some more research, I am excited to say that we did decide to move resorts from POR!

Where did we end up…..

We are so excited!! We never even really considered it because we thought it would not be appropriate for Lilian. Our TA said nope, it would be just fine!

We thought about it the last few days and think it will be a great choice for us. There are more dining choices, recently refurbished rooms, queen beds that are really comfy,

the grounds are beautiful and it does not share a bus with any other resort. We are all set for free dining to be applied on Monday hopefully!! Since we do not have the Disney Visa Card, we need to wait. I sure hope there are rooms left!

I hope you all are doing well! :goodvibes I have one big project to finish for classes. I hope to be done with it by the end of next week. I have about four weeks off before I begin classes again in June. It is shaping up to be a crazy busy summer for us!

Wow! That is great! I hate to put a damper on your excitement, but some people were having a hard time booking CSR with FD yesterday. I guess they hold a lot of rooms for upcoming conference goers and once their date to book passes, they release those rooms back out to the GP. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!! My friend and her family stay at CSR every year and absolutely love it. I must say, it's very pretty!

I will think about it--thanks for the feedback Julie!

Thank you--I love that bag! :goodvibes I can just picture a bunch of moms (or so it seems) holding precariously onto our backpack so they do not fly off rides! :lmao: Ahh, the things a mom does for her family. :thumbsup2

If I were going to spring for a mod CSR would be my pick- mostly because of the queen beds! The pics look great and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out for you! :goodvibes

We stayed at CSR last September. I heard that FD was limited too so I hope you get what you want! :flower3:

I talked about it a lot in my TR but if you're planning to send any packages ahead of time, they charge you to pick them up....unlike the other resorts. :scared1: Honestly, that made me mad.....considering I sent gifts, etc. and had no clue it would cost me $5 a package to claim them.

Im keeping my figures crossed for you too! I never stayed at CSR but it looks beautiful and your daughter will love that pool. Queen beds too...how can you go wrong!

I hope you get it! I'll be sending Pixie Dust your way on Monday morning:goodvibes

Hope you get a cure for your resort-itis! :goodvibes

And great topic about the bags - I enjoyed reading along. Thanks for bringing it up!

That's great that you're switching. I'll be curious to hear about your experience!!!

we stayed there just last year in March...it was a last minute trip to be planned and that was the only place I could get two rooms...we were very pleasantly surprised. They were not done w/ refurb yet so we had the old style rooms...but it was nice. The pool was great!

I have attached links to a few posts form my PTR/TR combo that relate specifically to CSR...hope they help navigate the resort for you...happy to help w/ any questions :thumbsup2

Congrats on the resort change!! I've been getting resort-itis too, but I think I've worked it out by planning where we will stay for the next 2 trips!

Is the whole party moving over to CSR? It looks like a beautiful resort. We've never stayed there, but it is on our "someday" list! I hope everything works our on Monday when FD is released!:thumbsup2

It looks absolutely beautiful! I'll admit as well that CSR has never really been on my radar. Maybe it should be. . .

Way to try to shot down my excitement ;) There is not a convention schedule as of yet for our week so we should be ok hopefully. Our TA is confident we should be fine. We may have to bump up to a water view but that would be minimal. Also, the convention goers are kept in one specific area usually, not the area we requested.

Thanks Hope! I have my fingers crossed for all my fellow DISers who are shooting for it too.

CSR is beautiful. I hope you get it!

Thank you Christa! I hope so too. We are willing to play the waiting game if need be to let the dust settle from the craziness of Monday.
