1 Child and 10 Adults--A GG to Celebrate DD's 4th Bday :) TR Link is Posted

Hey Stephanie! As I said earlier, you did a great job on the skirt! Very cute! I can't believe you just got that camera! You were taking pictures today like a pro! :thumbsup2 Would you mind sending me a few of the photos?

Emily had such a fun time playing with Lilian, she can't wait until next week. She told me we need to get a water bottle like yours too!

Thank you Wendy! Of course I will send pictures--I have not downloaded them yet but as soon as I do I will! :thumbsup2

They make Nalgene bottles for their size too ;)

Very cute skirt! Your dd looks so cut in it too. :goodvibes

I have a Rebel xt and love it! It's actually spending a couple of weeks at Canon getting repaired because I got the dreaded 'Err 99' message that is somewhat common with some of the older models. I was just starting to use full manual mode and feel like I knew what I was doing (after a year, lol) when it broke. *sigh* Oh well, only a couple more weeks and I'll have it back! I hope you're having fun with your camera!

Thanks Hope! Oh no!! I sure hope it is going to be able to fixed. I am having fun but I have so much to learn to use it fully manual.

You're very right! You actually really inspired me with the skirt so I am shopping online for fabric to try something out. It's not going to be a skirt or anything, but it'll be a first step!!!

:yay: Christina! :cheer2: You can do it!

Great job on the skirt!!!!

Thanks Kristine!! Nothing like yours but I am trying to get better. :) maybe one of these days I will make things like you do. Of course by then, DD won't like handmade clothes. :rotfl:

Cute skirt!! You did a great job! :)
Congrats on the new camera too! I am hoping to get a new camera soon too! I too am looking at the canon rebel.

Hi Heather! Thank you :goodvibes I love my camera! Good luck choosing one!

I'm joining in; still have much to go back and read :)
We'll be there around the same time (sept 15 - 20)!!
Your DD is adorable :cutie:

:welcome: Sarah to my PTR! There are links on the first page if you have the desire to read through the pages but want to skip all the chatter. :rolleyes1 :yay:for similar dates!

Thank you--I am biased but I think so too. :goodvibes

I bought a VB mailbag that I will take to the parks. I dont think the camera would fit comfortably inside. We will probably have a family backpack too that we can leave inside the stroller with changes of clothes, band-aids, etc. nothing valuable in it. So I am undecided on the camera issue still!

Hi Stephanie! :wave2: I'm subscribing to your PTR - I just found it and have loved it so far! I can't wait to read more about your plans :goodvibes You DD is adorable!

Great job on the skirt Stephanie!:thumbsup2

And congrats on the camera! There is no turning back now...you will never be able to use a point and shoot again!;)

I love the skirt! She's going to be the sweetest little "Minnie"!

How cool that you got a new camera, too! I am really loving mine. Are you finding it pretty easy to learn all the functions? I was surprised that mine was actually easier to use than my old point-and-shoot!

Will it be uncomfortable to wear it around your neck/shoulder? I left mine around (like a messenger bag) while I was the park this past week a few days and it worked out. I don't think it would work to well at Disney though with the rides...:confused3 Could you pass it off to those who are not going on the rides to solve that issue?

Great job on the skirt Stephanie!:thumbsup2

Thanks Trish! I love my new camera! :lovestruc

Thanks Rebecca! I am loving my new camera! I am still working on learning how to use the manual settings but the predetermine settings are great! :thumbsup2

I hope to have another update posted sometime this weekend but for now I thought perhaps you all would humor me and do another question and answer session! Here goes:

What type of park bag do you like to carry and what things do you like to take into the parks with you?

Something I am starting to thinking about and I would like to get rolling on my daily packing lists for my park bag. Care to help out my lists by responding? :upsidedow

We bring a backpack and a camera bag. In the backpack we put snacks, autograph book, camcorder, bottled water, ponchos and sunscreen. In the camera bag, we keep our cash, tickets and cell phones.

I carry a Baggallini. In it, I have a small wallet, blackberry, DSLR, extra lens, batteries, memory cards, ziplocks (to protect electronics on wet rides), disposable ponchos, lipgloss, a comb, extra hair elastics, and of course park tickets!

Randy carries a backpack with bottled water, his and Aisling's ponchos, snacks, Aisling's autograph book/pins/pressed penny stuff, a first aid kit with all kinds of essentials (tell you how many people I've helped out with that thing), glow sticks, personal misters, and sunscreen. Plus his wallet and blackberry.

It is just my DH and I. We have no children. We carry a fanny pack although I believe that will change this year. I think I will carry (hopefully) a VB hipster.

We carry:

Digital Camera (with a plastic sandwich bag so it doesn't get wet)
Chapstick
Hand Sanitizer
Handi-Wipes (in case we get sticky)
Sunscreen (a travel sized one)
Bandaids
KTTW Cards
Cash (in a plastic bag)
Eye Drops (we wear contacts & the air can make them dry)
Hand Lotion
Small Print out of Touring Plan with ADR Confirmation #s for that day (also in a plastic bag so we can add receipts as the day goes on)
Ibuprofen
Gas-X strips
Listerine Strips

Phew! That's a lot of stuff but it is all small. We definitely could not go to the park without any of these things. We also have ponchos that go in a clip on mesh bag so if it is threatening rain we just clip them on our fanny pack.

I hope this helps!

I carried a Vera Hipster last time. It was a nice size, and the pockets were awesome. However, the strap did kind of give me trouble because the bag was so weighed down. It rubbed on my skin an was uncomfortable. I loved how I could just hop on and off the rides easily without taking on and off a purse or bag. I think I may get a VB large backpack for my Christmas trip :santa: The pockets can not be beat!

I had:

A large ziplock with 2 sharpies and 2 autograph books.
Anti Bacterial wipes (travel size)
Anti Bacterial gel (travel size)
Cell phone
Polka dot tie for our stroller
Ressie #s
2 diapers
small ziplock of wipes

** BEST item was a metal business card holder that I brought. I put my driver's license, Photopass Card and Park "Ticket" card in it. Also, a small fold of cash. I kept it in the front pocket and it was easily grabbed when we were taking a picture or buying dinner. I could not live without it next time**

HTH:hug:

This is our first family trip to the World but we are experienced travelers so I'll jump in too. :)

Dh carries a backpack when we travel. I have the DSLR so he gets the bag, he doesn't mind though and if he really gets tired I'll take it for a while. In that bag we generally have:
-a small baggie full of basic first aid- antiseptic wipes, neosporin, bandaids, and ibuprofen
-a couple of water bottles (in a seperate pocket)
-a few snacks such as pb crackers or raisins
-kids cameras
-extra camera batteries
-itinerary for the day
-sunblock
-bugspray
-if it's hot out I put a couple of wet hankercheifs in a double bagged ziploc with some ice cubes- these are great for wrapping around your neck to cool down (in the seperate pocket with the water bottles
-wallet

For WDW I'll add a few things to the bag:
-autograph books/passports and retractable sharpie for signing
-since we're going in sept we may get some mister fans in addition to our hankercheifs
-our GAD voucher for the day
-pressed penny money

The kids will have their own itinerary, snack coupons, emergency info cards, and trading pins so no need to put that stuff in the bag

Since it's a full size backpack with lots of extra space we always have room to put in the stuff the kids collect/buy along the way.

Hi Stephanie! I carry a VB backpack. In it is the following:

a travel size first aid kit from Target
my camera
this year a VB cardholder that will house my ID, KTTW card, & some cash
a small package of moleskin
sunblock
antibacterial/lysol wipes
antibacterial hand gel
ponchos
sunglasses

I put the autograph books and pens in a large ziploc and store them under the stroller.

Hey Stephanie! We've never taken a bag with us. With the single stroller, we have an organizer on the back which holds our cell, sunscreen, wipes, small bottle of Advil, camera and hand sanitizer, a compact brush and has 2 cup holders for our drinks. We put our KTTW cards in our pockets and Mike carries his wallet and I let him carry my drivers license with him. This year we'll be getting a double stroller organizer and the only thing we'll add to the above list is the tire pump, a few diapers and some formula, although, I might switch Eva to milk before we go so we might not even need the formula! When we park the stroller, the only thing we have to grab is the camera.:thumbsup2
