Sounds (and looks) like a great day at AK! :thumbsup2

Maybe it's the darkness in Space Mountain Belle doesn't like. They did a beautiful job with her face painting.

Sounds like you had a wonderful day at AK. I love the pics of the tigers. They are never out when I go.

Y50's soap: Normally when a kid gets up from the table to go to the restroom. You server, i.e. your cousin, will ask the kid what color the soap was so that they know that the kid washed their hands. :rotfl2:

No, I haven't started my other trip report yet. I finished downloading my pictures last weekend, so I am hoping to start it this weekend.

Ooooh, that is funny! I'll have to remember that for future trips with Henry!

That is so fun about your DSis getting picked for Monster's Inc! We really loved that show, we laughed so hard. I hope my DH gets picked next time!

Your day at AK looked like a lot of fun, you got some great pictures of the gorillas and the kids. Belle's face paint was really cute.

I was surprised Belle rode EE, but not SM! It must be the darkness and not being able to see where you are going. But then again, there is a bit of that in EE too. Who knows! :confused3 :rotfl:

Hi Donald, it looks like you had a lot of fun at AKL!! I love Belle's expression on EE! She looks really scared but at the same time loving it! :goodvibes

Yes, that is a great picture! Belle looks scared, Pluto looks like he had his eyes closed and I was hanging on for dear life!:rotfl2:

Yes, we had an awesome time at AK! I think that the animals were more active than I had ever seen them.

Great pics of a great day!

Thanks!

I think that you are right on the darkness. I was very impressed with the face painting.

I love Monster's Inc, but it is even more fun when someone in your party is selected. DSis was such a great sport about it too!

I think that you are right about the darkness of SM, but she liked TOT and I consider that a pretty dark ride. Maybe she didn't realize that TOT was a bit dark?

Belle really wanted to do TOT but was very afraid. My kids do not really like scary stuff.

She was not happy in that first room they have you wait in when they turned the lights out. When we were walking through the boiler area on the way to the elevators I had to explain to her that this was all make believe and they made it look old and scary.

She had her eyes closed the whole time in the elevator till the doors opened. She loved the drops though. I was very thankful the seat belt did not break because she was holding on to both of my hands (so I was not able to hold on at all!) and screaming every time it went up and down!!!! She was very happy that she went on it and I am sure she would have gone on it again if I had given her the chance.

Maybe SM will be her next ride to conquer! (I bet she'll love it!)

Her first ride on ToT sounded a lot like mine...:rotfl2:

I cannot imagine not holding on AT ALL on that ride!!!!! I would have been freaaaaaaaaaaking out! :rotfl:

Yea for Belle on going on ToT and getting past all the scary stuff! :yay:

It is interesting how similar yet how different the kids were on the big rides.

Their first trip:
Pluto rode EE (ok I still hadn't rode EE at that time)
Belle didn't want to ride EE.
Neither of them wanted to ride TOT, SM, or Rockin Rollercoaster.

This trip:

Coming up on the trip, Pluto was looking forward to SM and Belle kept talking about riding EE. By now I had been on EE.

On the trip:

Belle: rode and liked/loved EE & TOT, but wouldn't go near SM and Rockin' Rollercoaster

Pluto: rode & liked/loved EE & SM but wouldn't go near TOT and Rockin' Rollercoaster

Of course to be honest, I don't think DSis and I were too upset when the kids didn't want to go on Rockin' Rollercoaster. I have actually been on it twice but that was enough for me.

Hi everyone! So sorry that it has been so long since I updated. :flower3:

So, after leaving AK, we headed back to the resort and hung out in our rooms for a while. I think that we probably relaxed for an hour or so and then it was time to head over to MK.

Well, this night was much colder than the previous night. OK to be honest, it was probably only in the low 60's but it seemed very cold. (Remember this... it will be important.)

So, we take the bus to MK and the kids are all happy as we walk towards security. And then it happens

Pluto trips and falls on the cement pavers. And he fell hard! He skinned his knee and his elbow. :sad1: Yes, there was lots of tears, but the poor kid fell hard! So DSis calms him down a bit and we head into the park. Now, Pluto has recovered but he is still in pain. To make matters worse, Belle (very innocently) keeps bumping into him and hurting his elbow again. This goes on for most of the night.

OK, when we got to the park it was before 6. I had heard a rumor, thanks BensMom, that the castle lights may be turned on tonight. If you remember a long time ago to my last post, the previous night, we did Pluto's ride list. So this night, the plan was to do Belle's list. Well, one of her rides was Splash Mountain. DSis and I decided that it was too cold (at least for us) to go on Splash Mountain so Belle wasn't too happy. Her other ride was Big Thunder Mountain. I went to get FPs for it while DSis took Pluto into the rest room to check his elbow and knee. Well he was ok but just very sore. We had probably 30 minutes before our FPs so we thought about heading over to Pirates, but the kids were a little uneasy about it in the dark. So instead, we headed over to Liberty Square area and did some shopping at the pin station. We then headed back to Big Thunder Mountain and guess what???

The castle was lit!!!!! Our pictures from this spot didn't come out so great, so I will post out latter pictures further on in this post.

So we did Big Thunder Railroad and we all had an awesome time! I was a bit nervous that the Belle would be scared because the ride is definitely a bit different at night than during the day. Well, my concerns were mistaken and both of the kids had a great time. We then discussed what we wanted to do next. Belle wanted to go on Jungle Cruise, but I ended up mixing it because, I was afraid that it may be a bit spooky for her at night.

We decided to head over to Pinochio Village Haus for dinner. We had an interesting combination of foods here. :rotfl2:
Me: Chicken ceaser salad
DSis: Chicken ceaser Salad
Pluto: chicken nuggets
Belle: chicken nuggets
Me, DSis & Pluto: Figaro Fries.

Leave it to DSIs and me to get a salad and then get an order of fries! :rotfl2:

This actually was a very good meal. However, I did find the menu a bit limited.

After eating, we wandered around Fantasyland and walked on to Mickey's Philharmagic. This show is my favorite 3D show on property! :cheer2:

Belle decided that she wanted to ride the carousel and then both kids went on the tea cups.

By this point we were getting colder and we wanted to get back in case Pluto started to stiffen up. So we decided to slowly head out. On the way we stopped for some castle and Main St. pictures.

Finally it was to the buses and back to the resort.

Sorry that Pluto was in pain that evening. Did you consider going to the First Help Station to get something to put on his bruises? I once went there in Disneyland and the cast member was incredibly helpful!

But seeing the castle lit up hopefully made your evening, it looks so beautiful!!

Poor Pluto!! Good to hear that the kids had fun on BTMR. I agree with you on the limited menu at Pinocchio Village Haus - and we had a terrible meal there too. No pizza on the kids menu - and they were the DDP police so we couldn't order adult meals for them without paying out of pocket - what's up with that?

I love those castle pics! :thumbsup2

The Christmas decorations look so beautiful! It's really making me long for next December when I'll get to see them myself.

I can't remember if we thought of that or not? I'm thinking that because he wasn't bleeding we didn't think that they could help. :confused3 DSis, do you remember?

No pizza on the kids menu? The kids are old enough that we usually ordered for them off of the adult menu so I don't think that I looked.

Careful! That is what happened to me last year. :rotfl2: I saw pictures of the castle and said, "I have to go in December next year". So I went last December and have already booked AKV for this coming December. This could be habit forming! :rotfl:

Oh no! Poor Pluto!! I hope he was OK! Eeek - poor guy. :guilty:

Sounds like a great night at MK though! Is BTMRR kinda spooky at night because you can't see the track as well?

Those Castle pictures...ahhh...SO pretty! Brings back memories from our November trip! I REALLY look forward to December and seeing those decorations again! (and of course, AKV!)

I'm a bit afraid of that. I do love the fall though, so I'm not sure it will overtake my love of that time of year. What part of December are you planning on going?

Actually I was afraid that Belle would get spooked during the interior part of the ride which is dark all the time but the whole ride is jsut so dark at night.

That being said, you really should ride it both in the day light and at night because it is just so different.

I will be at AKV from 12/5 until 12/15.
