1/3/09 Magic - First Time To St. Croix

Brack...thanks for posting the pictures...it gets me in the "Cruise Spirit"!
On an upside, they finally got Diane's mom in surgery Thursday late afternoon. All went well. At last report, she finally seemed to be free of the anesthesia, and had the breathing and stomach tubes removed. Sore, but in good spirits. Not sure yet when she will get to come home, or when Diane's life will return to "normal" :goodvibes

We are back from Disneyland and had a great time. It was great celebrating my (early) birthday with Mickey and Pluto. It's never too late to have a happy childhood!
:woohoo: Next up............cruise!:woohoo:

Got a call early Saturday morning about some friends visiting from Nashville. They were at dinner Friday night when she had terrible pain. She was rushed to the hospital and on Saturday morning they did surgery for a perforated colon :scared1: The doctor took out about a foot of it and she has a temporary "bag". She will be fine and the bag will be reversed in a couple of months but it will be several days of healing with the incision open.

BTW ..... DW and I are scheduling a checkup for this soon! :rolleyes1

Colon: It's not just for punctuation any more!

Hope all is well and we all need to get the check up!!

My grandparents both pass away from colon cancer so please get check early and continue to get your check ups.

Good Saturday morning :yay:

It has been rainy with lots of fog for a couple of days here  I need a vacation :dance3: We do drive to Dallas next Thursday for a week so that will be good.

Today we have a little bit of shopping that includes Ikea and a Disney Store :woohoo:

I also have to get the Christmas decorations out and ready to go up. :santa: Our schedule is so hectic for awhile that if I don't then it will be about December the 5th before we can do it again. I can't wait that long. :sad2:

For at least three of those 7 days my Blackberry won't work and 'they' can't find me.
Peace,,,, peace at last! :cool1:

OK maybe not total peace with a 15 1/2 year old human-eating-machine-boy and an almost 17 year old Princess-that-causes-Daddy-to-Stroke but.....

THEY CAN'T FIND ME!!!!!!! :dance3: :cheer2: :woohoo:

I hate to say this but ..... they can work. It's fairly expensive onboard but when you are in St Croix or St Thomas it's like being in the USA. :sad2: I usually call back to rub it in that we are in the Caribbean. :lmao:

The trick is to turn them off or not bring them at all. :rolleyes1

My family and I have had to bail on the cruise. :guilty: :sad1: :sad2: :guilty: :sad1: :sad2:
With lay-offs looming at DHs work place and our emergency cash fund pretty well depleted due to various emergencies through the year and the bonus we were counting on to fund said cruise.....we are going to have to do the adult thing and bail. We are hating it but every now and then we have to do the responsible thing. <ick> :-P

I have the spread sheet for the FEs. If someone wants to assume that responsibility please PM me with an e-mail address and I'll send the spread sheet to you. I am about to go into a black hole of availability and will not be able to keep up with individual requests for a copy. First to volunteer gets the CLO (Chief Logistics Officer) position! ;)

I have so far the following folks signed up. If you are not there and supposed to be let me know or hold your info for the new CLO ;)

I seriously will be majorly incommunicado after tomorrow Tuesday 11-18. I am working at the Operation Christmas Child Atlanta Warehouse training volunteers, at a warehouse location and hour+ from my house. Plus I still have to check in on my mom now that she is home from surgery, make sure my DD is doing her homeschool work, check it, grade it, make up lesson plans for the next 4 weeks, get ready for a garage sale with my dad, go to my DDs chorale concert, go to the Twilight midnight release and.....ooohhh I'm sure a few more things in there I forgot! Soooo please bear with me...that was just *this* weeks, schedule!

You look really good for 80 years old! :thumbsup2

Hi fellow cruisers!

I was wondering if anyone would like to share a small (6-person max) charter boat on St. Croix? I would love the opportunity to explore more secluded snorkel spots, but chartering a boat for just DH and me seems silly (and expensive ).

Anyone interested?

Glenna... have you gotten any responses to this?

Me and my kids (3 of us) wanna snorkel and doing a private charter would really rock! Not sure how much room you have or what the pp rate is... we would only be interested in 1/2 day... morning or afternoon. We have family that doesn't want to snorkel that we want to explore some with as well :)

Let me know or PM me :) :cutie: :rotfl:

Thanks!

This is my first time ever on one of these web-sites. My daughter told me about it. We took the whole family on the 2007 Christmas cruise. My hubby and I are going to St. Croix alone. We booked the Northern European (alone again), and most of the family will be on the 2010 10-day Christmas cruise.
We are hooked.

Sue... we took our first family cruise on Disney November 2006... we love it much more than the parks for our kids ages... although I love the parks as an adult... the kids wear me out when I take them :)

I also booked a surprise 3 nighter for me and my hubby last january... he was very surprised...

On that cruise we booked this one.. unfortunately he passed away... so now the rest of my fam is going with us! So it turned out okay.

Surely will miss my hubby but I am refocusing on having fun with this crowd, my family, and my kids as we get by the equator for some heat... I am in Tennessee and I am ready for 6 weeks to be here!

I beleive that there is one on castaway cay. You might have to look under gorda cay to find it because that's castaway cays real name!

I don't geocache but I just looked it up for you:teeth: Here's the link to the geocache on Castaway Cay.

I geocached with a friend and now I need to my own GPS and pda for the info... I am excited to find caches in other countries... caching is slightly different around the US. And it is lots of fun too ! Hide and seek Castaways... here we come... bring your GPS Brack and we will see who can find it :)

My family and I will be joining the fun on the cruise! This includes Mom, Dad, brother and my husband. We will be celebrating Dad's 60th Birthday!!

Cant wait for the cruise! :yay:
