1/3/09 Magic - First Time To St. Croix

Like I said, so far we have:

24 total participants
11 kids
11 cabins

I'll continue to take names and info for participation. I'm thinking ... and it hurts.... should we cut off sign ups around Dec.1ish? With Christmas and all and the craziness that can come with the season I think it would be a kindness to do so (especially to me! :rotfl: ) and others shopping for the FE. I figure Dec 1 or 35? 40? total participants? Or do we just let the participant number go as high as it can and I divvy up the names into groups or just trust folks to fairly pick and chose how many to do or to do all. What seems to be the best route for those of you participating?

I am seeing great threads on the main cruise board on gift ideas from very clever and frugal to quite involved and crafty. Check them out for some good ideas!

Ok, off to bed. I have to be up early to work a show at the Gift Mart tomorrow. :cat:
We're in so I just wanted to confirm my info:

TinyTink's Family:
9 passengers total
4 adults 2/2 boy/girls
3-boys ages 13, 11, 3
2 girls ages 6,5

we will be in three cabins and all three cabins will be participating.

My TA said that with the current economic issues many have not made final payment and pulled back to reset their deposits to future cruise time instead of this on... she said there were even Cat 12 cabins still available!

They may discount the rates at the last minute to fill it up but I also hope it isn't full... I love January cruises :):goodvibes
I saw the bounce back offer on DCL and if school schedules didn't conflict I would have move our sailing to 1/31/09 so we could do the $99 thing. I wish they were offering for our sailing.

One of the activities I have been getting into is hiking and geocaching... there are caches in St. Croix and St. Thomas.... can't find Castaway Cay... but I might leave one there if I can...:cool1:

Any Geocachers in our disboard group?:wizard:

Not me .... yet. I have some friends who do it a lot and they have been after me me to join them. I do visit a web page for it occasionally. :surfweb:

me too!

I think we should get all the cruiser sailing starting with our cruise to write to DCL and have them start the promo with our cruise. Then have the other cruisers in Jan 09 do the same. Whadda ya'll think?

Khakismum has been out of touch for the last few days b/c her mom is in the hospital having open heart surgery today...waiting to hear from her. As I've known this family for 12 years, and my kids call her mom Nana, we're a bit concerned as well. I expect she'll get back online after her mom's out of the hospital. Just thought I'd chime in.

:grouphug: and lots of pixiedust: pixiedust: for Khakismum and her family during this difficult time. We are all praying for your mom's speedy recovery. Don't worry about all of our rantings about FE we just want a great report on your mom when you are ready.

Oh my, please let her know our prayers and positive thoughts are with them.
Very scary when something happens to a parent.

Well, surgery got bumped to today because an emergency came it...they're glad Diane's mom isn't an emergency! anyway, got bumped to today...they took her back around 11:00 for the 10:00 surgery...her main complaint at that point was that she was hungry! anyway, talked to Diane around 2:00, and she still wasn't in the OR...the Dr. got called away for a consult. Still waiting to hear.

This is very frustrating. It would happen all the time when my wish princess was an infant. They would push it back and back and back. Meanwhile I have a starving infant who doesn't understand why mommy won't help her.

Over the years I have learned my own schedule and I amnot saying anybody else should do this but Drs. and tests were NEVER on time. So if they said nothing after midnight I would give her pediasure at 4 am. If they said 6 hours I would give pediasure 3 hours. It always worked.

I hope she got in by now and all is well.

I beleive that there is one on castaway cay. You might have to look under gorda cay to find it because that's castaway cays real name!

I don't geocache but I just looked it up for you:teeth: Here's the link to the geocache on Castaway Cay.
