1/3/09 Magic - First Time To St. Croix

I haven't made my FE yet...probably won't get to that until December when the gym is closed. Plus, but then the kids will know and can help pick fabric etc. I have been pondering the gifties to stuff it with though.:goodvibes
As to excursions: we will probably do the walking tour at St. Thomas. We've been there twice and ferried over to ST. John both times. W/the kiddos w/us, price is important, and the walking tour is the best bang for minimum buck, I think. We're all in pretty good shape, so it should be good.
I'm actually hoping (yes, I'm a geek I know) to get up on the sports deck a few times and run over some TKD forms. I'll be getting ready for my next belt test and don't want to lose a week's training.
Not sure what we'll do at St. Croix, obviously since the excursions aren't out. Hoping to do a basic island tour w/a stop at the Cruzan factory! :drinking1
Where does everybody else stand on the planning frontier?

okay, I am back from the land of the recovering...:cool2:

1 major surgery
2 schools + lesson plans
1 homeschool plus lesson plans
:teacher:

I think I have everything under control now. I sent in my 2 sets of lesson plans to my 2 schools. I have about 3 months of lessons plans lined up and almost all entered for DD for upcoming school year...this year is going to be tough for her! The work has stepped up a notch and her load will get incrementally bigger. She is in a fine arts school one day a week plus another afternoon in drama rehearsal, leaving 4 days to get 5 days of academic work done. We are starting her off slow with just Geometry, Biology, Western Civ. 1 history, and a British lit course, after the first month or so we will add in a logic 1 course, then a government course, then a sociology course with an eye for her to take the sociology CLEP test and get a jump on college credits while she can. She's gonna NEED a cruise come January!! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

As far as the TAG game goes, I only have these numbers:
9 cabins
18 total participants
11 out of the 18 are children (children = 18 and under)

We have room for a lot more participants!

Since I have been out of the loop so long, I may have missed a request. Here are the names of families I have participating so far:
May
Hardy
Goulart
Patterson
Moore
clower5luvzdiz
shelvis

If you want to participate and don't see your name on the list - PM me with the pertinent info
cabin #(s)
name(s)
# in party
#of kids with ages at sailing
kids names
any celebrations
any allergies

Ok, now back to your regularly scheduled mayhem.:dance3:
Is there an update on how many families/cabin will be participating? I want to start the gift shopping. What is our cut off date for joining in on the FE?

While home for lunch, we received Disney Cruise mail. We received the SHIP AND SHORE VACATION GUIDE including "Shore Excursion/Special Cruises" oh boy, but NO excursion infromation included just general info, i.e. what to wear, what to bring. NO excursions yet. Bummer, I thought by now we would have more information. Did any one else get their's yet and did it included excursion info? I was so excited.:confused3

Nope, we didn't get anything.

Yes and it is a good place for photos. I have another shot with my DW and I in front of it.

hi brack, i just borrowed this picture for the ping pong picture game on the main cruise forum. thanks

YIKES!!!
Our vacation brochure came in the mail the other day. I have t say I like the new layout, but it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. :confused3
The yikes park comes in b/c my DD, 14, is the 1 who brought in the mail. Remember, the kids don't know about the cruise. I told them it was probably just something from the Castaway Club...they did that every now and then...sent recipes, CDs, etc. I "excused" myself to the potty and opened in there *just in case* (about the only place in the house away from prying eyes!) The only thing I had to take out was the cover letter. Then, I let the kids examine to their hearts content...thinking that would lower their suspicion levels. I told them it must just be their newest brochure touting their new cruises. The younger 2 bought it, but the older 1 is *VERY* suspicious!!! Can't say I blame her as we *have* surprised them with trips MANY times. Just gotta hold her off for another couple of months!:rolleyes1

I hope you can pull it off, we get mail from DVC&DCL all the time so mine would not be suspecious.

Hi All,

Time for me to start thinking about making our FE's. I am going to check out the fabric store later this week. The kids also have their school orientations this week and we start school on Tuesday. In a way I can't wait but then I am not looking forward to driving them to school everyday and waking up at 6:30am to get the kids out the door by 7am. I will sure miss sleeping in late but look forward to have a few hours of peace and quiet during the day.

If you are in good shape like you say you are St. Thomas offers an amazing biking excursion that ends on a private beach. It's definitely a difficult bike ride threw all parts of the island. I enjoyed this ride more than anyone in my family as I like to go fast and get muddy. I plan on doing it again. As for the price it’s reasonable. Check it out it’s a great excursion.

Remember the magic...

Did anybody get excursion information in their packet? :confused3
Nope we just got the standard package from DCL with info on what to pack and stuff. I am so waiting for the excursion info so we can start planning, we really want to do a dolphin swim with my DD and her cousin.

OK, what about "Pilaging the Virgin Islands"? You could have a picture of the itenerary map with a ship and a pirate in the middle, or something like that...just a thought.pirate:

so, here is a name that our little group from Georgia came up with, and then I started playing around with logos this morning when DH was snoring and I was forced to leave my bed before I was ready. See what you think for our shirts:

Hi to all fellow cruisers on the Jan. 3 cruise. I will be sailing with an extended family group of 12. We did have 16 but are now down a few. They have no idea what they will be missing. This will be my family's third DCL cruise. We cant wait

Welcome DisneyCDE, would you all like to participate in the Fish Extenders and T-Shirts?(see post 542 on page 37 for details on the Fish Extenders and post 556 for the t-shirt design).

OK...so chime in with orders for shirts...quantity and sizes...also, do we want big logo on the back and something small on left chest? Or just small logo on left chest? I'll talk to my friend, Heather, this week and get some pricing from her.
Hardy:
1 adult XL
1 adult Med
2 adult Sm
1 child Med
