1/3/09 Magic - First Time To St. Croix

I haven't been paying as good attention this this as I should but I just knocked out a logo tonight and thought I'd post it... Didn't know if we were looking for a theme or if one got settled....

Anyway....here it is.

Cool! :thumbsup2

I copied it for one of my door magnets; hope you don't mind.

Brack, I hope JoJo is feeling better. I know he has been part of your family for a long time. Sorry you & Annette had to cut your WDW trip short.

Thanks. One of us have to stay home with him to make sure he gets his meds and eats. Right now we are both in a recliner with him sleeping between my legs. One of which is numb right now 'cause I can't move. :lmao:

I talked to my friend Heather last night about the shirts. She is waiting for the estimate from both the screaner and the heat press designer to see which will come out cheaper. She said that for large batches, heat press is definitely cheaper but for a run our size she doesn't know yet...cost is based on how many colors! She is thinking that they will run around $5-6 per transfer, and then the cost of the shirt, so we're looking at around $10-$12 per shirt. My first estimate was a bit short...sorry.:scared:
WHen she and I had first talked and she gave me prices, I didn't realize that those were for stock designs. Any custom design has a set up fee that is based per color. I should have a closer definitive price by the end of the week. SO, I will need to make sure I have all the orders soon. The advantaget to going with a heat press over screaning is that if we do screening, we have to pay a cleaning fee if we want more made. If we do the heat press, they save the file and just make more. Make sense?

Khakismum...where do we stand on the FE list? I'm looking to start doing a little bit of buying soon to spread it out some so it doesn't hurt my wallet so much :goodvibes

The problem with this one is that you pay for the shirt by color...there are a lot of colors here. This would be very expensive.

Hmmm I would think that custom heat transfer designs would be cheaper the more colours vs screen? With screen printing you need a negative and screen per colour. With heat press, it is just printed off a colour printer... just a better one than we do at home. At least that is my understanding and experience with getting t-shirts printed...

As far as the FE goes....so far we have 24 total participants, 11 of which are kids 18 and under and, oddly enough, 11 cabins .

Like I said, so far we have:

24 total participants
11 kids
11 cabins

I'll continue to take names and info for participation. I'm thinking ... and it hurts.... should we cut off sign ups around Dec.1ish? With Christmas and all and the craziness that can come with the season I think it would be a kindness to do so (especially to me! :rotfl: ) and others shopping for the FE. I figure Dec 1 or 35? 40? total participants? Or do we just let the participant number go as high as it can and I divvy up the names into groups or just trust folks to fairly pick and chose how many to do or to do all. What seems to be the best route for those of you participating?

I am seeing great threads on the main cruise board on gift ideas from very clever and frugal to quite involved and crafty. Check them out for some good ideas!

Ok, off to bed. I have to be up early to work a show at the Gift Mart tomorrow. :cat:

.

That is what I thought too, but Heather said that the manufacturers of the heat press have to convert the file to whatever format they use, and then there is the setup fee per color. I had no idea. She said that for large batches, the heat press is definitely less expensive than the screen...I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all....:confused3

 :yay:  :yay: The Shore Excursions are up!!!!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2 :cheer2: The Shore Excursions are up!!!!!:dance3: :yay: :cool1:

I had so much fun last night...oldest DD was at a birthday party, so youngest DD and I had some time to kill. We went into JoAnn to "look around" (remember, kiddos don't know about the trip!)
I spent a good bit of time looking at things-unbeknownst to my daughter that they were for this purpose-to use on our FE. SO MUCH FUN!!!!!
Can't wait to make our own!

On a separate note...please send some pixie dust to oldest DD...she's having a rough month. 2 weeks ago she had a kidney infection, now she has bronchitis and hurt her foot horsing around with a friend AFTER tae kwon do. (my kids have been in TKD for 8 years, and have received multiple injuries there-just not usually involving actual TKD...go figure!)

Hey Guys!!

I'm on the Feb 28th sailing to St. Croix. I have a favor to ask, if anyone does the St. Croix Mini Boat Excursion could you PM me with how you like it? We're thinking of doing it but I don't want to spend the $160 if it turns out to be a bad excursion.

Really Appreciate it! I can't wait to hear all of your trip reports!! :yay:

Anyone decide on excursions yet?

Brack, how is JoJo? Have you heard from Angie and Dennis?
