1/3/09 Magic - First Time To St. Croix

So what does everyone think, should we just do the FE as a casual drop off give at your own leisure?

Definitely...my poor brain hurts! And, knowing how much I will be in my "vacation zone" there's no telling how badly I might mess something like that up.

So, Khakismum, do we know how many will be playing? How many cabins, and how many people?

Am I the only geek who already has their hotel room reserved for the night before? I think we're actually going to get up early on the morning of the 2nd and drive down and go to the space center. I haven't been since I was in middle school and lived there. DS is VERY into the whole space thing right now. I've written to my congressman asking for tickets. Somebody said that all the free tickets for 2008 have already been promised, but this will be 2009 :goodvibes
If that falls through, I have a friend who works for Nasa (went to Embry Riddle, co-oped w/Nasa all though college, worked in Orlando, transferred to Houston to be a mission controller, then transfered to Huntsville to design the new Ares launch platform-underachiever! :lmao: ) maybe he can score us some tickets.

Left turn...when does the Magic come back through the Panama Canal? I miss seeing her on Saturdays. (of course as soon as she comes back she goes into dry dock but at least I can get a short fix :yay: )

OK...that's it for the day. DFS (the gym I work at) is having our big fall kickoff party today. I guess since I'm gym director I better toddle off and schmooze!

OMG-yeah you are an awesome geek for having your hotel room booked for the night before. We are still deciding on driving or flying so we don't want to book then cancel rebook. I would like to use my Hilton points to get a free hotel room so it would most likely be the Hampton Inn but I issue is still with how to get to FL from VA.

So I take it the gym was cleaned up from the leaks and floods, glad to hear it.

We have our airline flights booked, our room for two nights before the cruise and a rental car for the pre-cruise stay. We are over planners, too. Doing our "homework" adds to the fun of our vacations. But we like to get the important stuff done early. Now the only thing we have to stress about is the weather. Will the weather cause flight delays or cancellations, etc.

We are back from Kansas City and it was HOT!!!! Kansas City International Airport is a joke. It is the worst airport we have ever used. My husband says it hasn't changed since he was there in the 1970s.

Ok, we're off to Myrtle Beach talk to you all in a week unless I can get on during the week at the hotel.

Hi Nancy B, we can actually start meeting each other at the DCL terminal since I am pretty sure we all will be there as early as possible and just hang out. If you all see me don't hesitate to come say hi even though I may look like I am about to pull my hair out, having 4 kids will do that to you.

Some of us will actually try to meet up before the cruise. On one of our earlier cruises several of us met up at a theme park in PA. :dance3:

Oh ok.... that sounds good.... it is a little confusing for a first timer... but I CAN NOT wait... it will just be my hubby, me and our daughter 18 ... we have a son (almost 20) but he doesnt live with us anymore (not by my choice) and it is so sad, but we are going to have FUN , I know...
Thanks so much for all the info.
Take care, Nancy ;)

You will have fun ..... I promise. :woohoo:

Thanks, Judy. We're having a blast, we played MaqiQuest today and the kids had a blast.
nancy B, where in MD are you located? Are you flying or driving? We are still debating if we should drive or fly.

Hi ya'll, we had dinner at Sonic today but it was a bit of disappointment. It was not as good I we remeber it back 1999.

We live about 30 minutes north of Baltimore in a town called Havre de Grace, (was almost the capital of Md.) my DH was born here and grew up here... and we are flying down, cause DH has alot of freq. flyer miles that we are using (one blessing of him traveling so much for work) .... We are soooo looking forward to this cruise... I CAN NOT wait...
Take care ! :cool1:

So, what's everyone planning to do on St Croix and St Thomas/St John?

Did anybody make their fish extender yet? I may work on ours this weekend. I have to decide if I want to use the non-Disney fabric I bought or make it out of Disney dish towels from WDW. I am not sure my sewing machine works, I haven't used it in years....no time to sew.:surfweb: :laundy: :drive:

I have not even thought about the FE's yet. I have a sewing machine but I will have to dig it out of the basement closet, then figure out how to make the FE. I have not even thought about the fabric yet and I am still thinking about what to put in them. I can't believe it's only 5 more months till we cruise.

Besides shirts, are we going to do any lanyards or anything else? 139 days, I can't wait.
