1/2day, full day, 1/2day Trip Report from Aug/07 Part 2

Monday August 20th: Knowing it was EE morning and not having anything more than a 2-day park hopper, we were at the gates by 7:10am. Second in line and enjoying our coffees, we people-watched the time til opening! The lines were thick and long by 8am but we had no-problem starting out our Ridemax/Hydro Guy morning!

DH was our runner and started off by getting Indi FPs before meeting us at the Matterhorn! The 7 min wait in Ridemax was a 7 minutes wait in line! Wild! We had heard in line that Nemo's wait was 1hr 45 min. We had explained to DD that Nemo would happen on another trip and she was a great sport about it! Our short DL trip had no room for 2 hours lines!

The Matterhorn was awesome! We haven't rode Everest yet in WDW to compare but certainly loved this ride!!!

Off to Big Thunder- LOVED IT too!! Then DH was sent to run for Splash FPs! First and ONLY glich in our plans... Splash was down! No water running either so no start up soon. No matter, on with the plan and we rode Pirates (again!!) Then we used our Indie FP's except ..... the CM didn't take our FP's - the one at the start nor the one in the middle. I told DH to save them in our carrier to use latter!!

Side note- Thank you Hydro Guy for the tidbit about using FP's outside the return window! I had to explain the DH that this would work as we stuck to that window when we were in WDW. This way, we were allowing ourselves so much more time to tour! GREAT ADVICE!!

Then off to get Buzz FP's. So it is now about 10am - we got some Dole Whips, Churros and make our to California Adventure!! The crowds were really starting to build at this time in DL. The AP black window was open this date and at lot of AP were at the park, according to the City Hall CM. That's where we picked up DD's First Visit Button!

CA was beautiful! Spacious and colourful!! DH got Soarin' and Grizzly FPs (Set #1) while we toured around a bit. We found an area to watch the new High School Musical 2 Pep Rally which was a blast! Then a quick lunch before getting Soarin' and Grizzly FP's (set #2). We rode Soarin' in the stand by line with a 10 min wait. We loved this ride in WDW and loved it more here!! What a great concept!!!

Then more touring around til about 1pm when we got ....FP's for Soarin' and Grizzly (Set#3). As you can see, we loved these rides! We did Soarin' 4 times in WDW and we did Kali River Rapids 7 times in one day in Animal Kingdom! We were going to get our best bang for our buck this time around!

Then DH and DD headed back to HoJo's to get ready for the afternoon by the pool. I headed over to DL to see if I could get Splash FP's and I did!!! The return time was after 5pm but no matter! We were going to have a great evening at BOTH parks!!!

We spent another great afternoon by the pool! What a great way to refresh!

Another Mimi's dinner (fantastic!) started our evening to CA! We decided to start with Grizzly - the standby wait line was 80min and no more FPs!! We rode it 3 times straight - soaked each time- on a wonderfully warm summer evening! It was crazy great!!! People were in awe when I told them about the FPs and that Grizzly was not connected to other FP's. DH said I sholdn't be giving away our secrets but I was certain by the looks on their faces, that they either didn't believe me or understand me! So no worries!!

Then three Soarin's - boom, boom, boom! It was an absolutle blast!!!

We were going to do the Sun Wheel but it was already close to 7pm - there were so many thing to do yet in DL we decided to save the rest of CA for our next trip, whenever that will be!

So off to DL and our FP's for Buzz! What great fun that ride is! Then Splash FP's were used next - a 90-min line and no more FP machines operating! Score! DH rode the front seat as DD was too nervous! Good choice - he was shocked at how the drop was from the front seat!

The our last set of FP's were at Indie- not for nothing, this was another great surprise of a ride! DH loved it and said it was his fav DL ride!!

Then we were schedule-free again. We rode Pirates one last time and came out to find a place for the fireworks! A few more churros and a stroll through the park finished our night in DL. It was just fantastic!!

If I may make a note, Ridemax and Hydro Guy tips made this trip! Period! We went on some of the busiest days and did every ride we wanted - some of them more than once! My research paid off and I am grateful!!

Thanks for the TR. Sounds like you had a very enjoyable trip. It's amazing how well RideMax works, isn't it?????????? We've been using it for years.

Did you get to see Alladin at DCA?????? Or ToT and CS??????? Those are some of my favorites at DCA.

Were you absolutely soaked after Splash??????????? The last time we went we were. We laughed so hard........................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, I think Indy is probably one of my favorites too!

We wanted to see Aladin but it was on that day. An dyes we were soaked on Splash! We had finally dried up from Grizzly when we road it! It was too funny!
