I am hopeful that we can organize one for everyone who is interested. I think it would be nice to see familiar faces around the ship.

is anyone doing any of the private tours at San Juan?

Nope - we're just walking ourselves around. We're history buffs, so the forts are definitely right up our alley. Plus, we'll do them at our own speed, which varies from Mach 3 to slow and pokey, usually in alternate minutes!

jilljill was the original person who posted links about self guided tours. It looks like the ship docks very near the old part of town, so walking should be pretty easy!

Not us, it gets too pricey. I co-worker cruises all the time, and he suggested that we get a cab to the old city and stalk over tours, much cheaper for the same thing. I'm also not about to pay $100 to be taken shopping, i can spend that on my own np

I think we are just going to do ourselves too. We also are mainly thinking forts and from what I'm reading they are pretty close! (someone please correct me if I'm wrong lol)

One of the reasons I was so excited about this cruise was going to San Juan and seeing the rainforests (are recommended by several people who lived there). But I wanted to see the rainforests a little more rustically than Disney offered. After a little (frantic) researching I think we are going to go with a private 1/2 day tour company.

Yeah! My DS 10 will be so thrilled to know that there is another boy his age going! We are also from Ontario...near London.

I have another 10 year old boy to add to the fold - lol. We are travelling with friends who have a 9 year old son. Both myself and my friends also have 13 year old daughters.

Wow this is coming on so fast! My Canadian friends, those in Ontario, may ask what your average airfare is? I'm finding flights really pricey for Florida.

We paid under $1900 taxes in flying out of Toronto direct. I couldn't find anything cheaper flying out of Buffalo - and would have had to factor in a hotel and gas anyways.....so we were happy with that rate. Oh - and that's for 4 people.

My 9 yr son will be happy to know there is at least one other 9 yr on the ship, he always worried that he will be the only boy his age...LOL

I was really excited that it's just about 10 more weeks til this cruise, but then I also realized that means I only have those 10 weeks to lose the 6 lbs that I gained on my August cruise!

I'm actually going to try to lose 10 lbs, so that when I invaribly gain while on this cruise I might actually break even! But then there's Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years in there as well....hope I can do it. Anyone else attempting the same thing?

I am right there with you! I have been working on these last 10 lbs of baby weight for several months now. I am hoping that with the holiday craziness and keeping to my running I can at least offset any excess cookie calories and maybe lose a few more lbs before the cruise.

I did just put FitBit One on my b-day/holiday list, I am hoping that will help me figure out why these last few lbs are being stubborn. Good luck to you

Just booked this cruise.

I've been watching it for a while because I like the Eastern Caribbean itinerary, especially with the stop at San Juan. I had been considering booking it while on board our 12/8/12 Fantasy Western Caribbean cruise. This morning I saw that they had VGT cabins available for a really good price so I jumped on it.

It will be Me (Jeff) and my wife (Val). We are CC Gold and that cruise will be #8 for us. So you can spot us on board here's what we look like.
